2 BEGINNING SEWING BEGINNING SEWING WITH HOME DECOR This class is an introduction to basic sewing with an emphasis on Home Décor sewing. You will learn basic sewing skills such as reading pattern instructions, laying out pattern pieces, inserting a zipper, making and inserting cording and making buttonholes. You will learn to use the tools, become familiar with different quilting fabrics, and master the basics in quilt making while making your first small quilt. Four Sessions; 4 hours each. But with the proper know how, appliqué can be very rewarding. This is a comprehensive class encompassing 1) appliqué fabric selection and preparation, 2) thread and machine needle selection, 3) stitch selection and adjustment 4) and practice of fused appliqué, turned appliqué, satin appliqué and reverse appliqué. Emphasis is added to negotiating curves and corners. One Sessions; 5 hours each. These blocks can be used individually to make a pillow cover, three or more for a wall hanging or multiples for a quilt. This is the third and last part in this series. CORDED BALLOON TRIO BLOCK This block is made using your circular attachment and the double welt foot to make corded balloons for this block. One Session; 4 hours.
