2 BEGINNING SEWING BEGINNING SEWING WITH HOME DECOR (16201) This class is an introduction to basic sewing with an emphasis on Home Décor sewing. You will learn basic sewing skills such as reading pattern instructions, laying out pattern pieces, inserting a zipper, making and inserting cording and making buttonholes. Class project is three different decorator pillows. Four Sessions; 4 1/2 hours each. Halfhour break for lunch. INSTRUCTION FEE: $ Pattern included in class fee. BARBARA MONDAY, JANUARY 22, 29, FEBRUARY 5 AND 12, 10:00AM - 2:30 PM CREATIVE SEWING CLASSES STITCHER S GARDEN 2 - #5 & 6 (17327) This class began in September and will continue through February. It will include introducing a ruffle, rolled hem foot, circular attachment, pintuck foot, couching, fringe, twisted floss, bobbin work, twin needle and wing needles. Techniques taught include Madeira hem, fringe and braiding. This is a scrappy quilt so get those scraps out and ready. If you own a new machine, just want to learn new sewing techniques, or wonder what all those marvelous sewing machine feet can do, this class is for you. Open to all levels of sewers. This attractive needle case features heirloom lace, wing needle work, bobbin work, yarn couching and decorative stitches. This class is open to any machine that can stitch letters or does embroidery. Or maybe you need to brush up your skills on a serger you ve had for a while? Then this is the class for you! We will cover techniques for turning corners, using decorative threads, creating serger pintucks, and putting in a zipper! The project is a bag just the right size for a cell phone. Using multiples of the same print, you can easily echo images making them more interesting and attractive. The results is similar to what you would see in a fractured mirror or when looking through a teleidoscope. 3 SEASONAL BENCH OR SOFA PILLOW EMBROIDERY PROJECTS These classes are suitable for embroidery machines with 6 x 10 (160mm x 260mm) or larger hoops. Large bench pillow forms are available at Denton Sewing Center. You only need one. Then change out a new cover for that pillow form for each season or holiday! WINTER WHIMSEY SOFA OR BENCH PILLOW (18106) You ll love displaying this cheerful winter pillow with snowmen and a penguin. The design lends itself to lots of creativity in fabric choice and embellishment. The main part of the pillow is embroidery appliqué, and the border can be created by traditional piecing or in the hoop. Not into bench pillows? It makes a great table runner, too! In the project we will take a piece of clip art and create an embroidery design from it - all in the machine. We will sew the design out in class. One session, 3 hours. FEE: $25 00 ANDREA FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 23, 10:00AM - 1:00PM BROTHER DREAM MACHINE / BABY LOCK DESTINY: EDITING AN ORIGINAL DESIGN ON THE EMBROIDERY MACHINE - PART 2 (18111) This class does require that you have an upgraded Dream Machine or Destiny, or that you have the Dream Machine 2 or Destiny 2. In the second part of this class, we will take the design we created in class one and redesign it using all the editing features in My Design Center (Brother) and IQ (Baby lock). If you didn t make it to class one, don t despair. The design can be placed in your machine and you can still learn the editing capabilities of the machine. One session, 3 hours. In this class we will create a quilted block and add a reversible appliqué to it. All quilted and appliquéd entirely in the embroidery hoop! One session, 3 hours. 4 EMBROIDERY CLASSES HOOP SISTERS: FEATHERED STAR - REMAINING SESSIONS (17329) This beautiful Feathered Star design was the first collaboration between the Hoop Sisters and Sharon Schamber. This design is multi-formatted to fit all embroidery machine types and also boasts 5", 6", 7", 8" and 9" block sizes. There are so many ways to make this quilt unique, it boggles the mind.
