September Classes Bag Ladies Jules Bag September 24 10:30 am to 4:30 pm Teacher: Gail Ransdall This bag has two sizes available. You will learn to make a welted pocket on the front that is perfect to slip your cell phone and keys into for a quick grab. Table Runner of the Month - Pinwheels on the Run September 19 10:30 am to 2:30 pm This pattern is so easy it s ridiculous but looks so good. Simply sew a few strips together, trim and sew into pinwheels. Each month we will make a new table runner. Bernina Artista Party September 23 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm $5 Come join Susie for an afternoon of fun while test driving a Bernina Sewing Machine. You will go home with a completed project and the experience how wonderful the Bernina machine sews. October Classes Beginning Paper Piecing October 1 $35 + cost of the pattern Teacher: Kathe Sabine Learn the ins and outs of paper piecing in this fun class with Kathe. The project is fun and after this class you ll be ready to enjoy this delightful piecing technique on other quilts and projects. We ll be making this one in 5 classes. The pattern includes a multi-formatted disk and you can use scraps for your borders. The sample was done with Civil War reproductions, but you can give it any look that you want. You will get a template in class to make this fast and easy gift bags. NO SEWING IS REQUIRED. How fun is that? Hunter s Star October 8 $40 Teacher: Nadine Hogrefe Nadine fell in love with this technique at Spring Market and couldn t wait to get home and try it. You will learn to make Hunter Stars using a unique method that you will love. You will be able to apply this method to any size Hunter Stars. Photo Coming Soon Bag Ladies Large V Bag October 15 Teacher Linda Engebretson This large tote has grommets for the handles and a unique V shaped pocket on the outside to hold your keys and cell phone or anything else you want to us it for. This designer has created a new way to stabilize the bottom of the bag. Beginning Hand Appliqué October 14 & 28 10:00 am to 1:00 pm $30 plus cost of pattern Teacher: Gail Ransdall Join the hand appliqué craze! Gail will show you several methods of hand appliqué from freezer paper to the starch method. This will be a hands-on class that will cover all the basics of materials and stitches.

You will make a different table runner each month. At the end of the year you could have 12 gifts ready for the holidays or you could treat yourself to a gift for each season! Getting together and sharing our creativity is half the fun! Holly and Berries Tree Skirt aka Bowood Tree Skirt Oct. 19 and Nov :00 am to 2:00 pm $25.00 This tree skirt is simple but elegant. Quilt the sections before putting it all together, add rick rack and holly leaves and you are done. Served with a Twist October 21 10:00 am to 1:00 pm Teacher: Barb Hartnett This placemat has a twisted napkin holder that adds interest to the place mat. It will make a perfect Christmas gift made from your choice of fabrics. We will make one placemat and one napkin in class. Christmas Celebration Tree Skirt October 22 & 23 & Noon to 4:00 pm $50.00 Teacher: Colleen Caulfield Here is your chance to learn just how simple quilts designed by Judy Niemeyer can be with a few techniques and lots of organization. The Christmas Tree celebration Tree Skirt is a perfect design to begin with while smaller than a quilt, the skirt features floating spikes, floating flying geese, curved piecing, strip piecing, traditional piecing and template layout sheets. Beginning Machine Embroidery October 26 and November 2 10:00 am to 4:30 pm $60 Teacher: Phyllis Van Etten This is a two day class for beginning machine embroiderers. You must have a Bernina machine capable of embroidery. The first morning you will learn about threads, stabilizers, hooping and various techniques and tricks of the trade. That afternoon will be devoted to learning to use the free embroidery program ArtLink from Bernina. You will need to bring your laptop. The second day we will spend all day practicing techniques and doing various types of embroidery.

4 Beginning Quilting October 29, November 5, December 3, & other dates TBD 1:30 am to 4:30 pm $50.00 plus cost of the pattern Are you ready to start on your first or second quilt? Do you wish that you had someone to guide you through the process? Do you want that quilt to be something you can be proud of? This is the class for you! Beginning Hand Quilting October 29 9:30 to 12:30 plus $15 kit fee There is absolutely nothing as gratifying and relaxing as hand quilting. Susie will teach you about the tools of the trade from needles and threads to thimbles and of course the techniques of hand quilting. Beginning Hand Embroidery October 30, November 6 Noon 4, includes tea towel Linda is an accomplished embroiderer and a gifted teacher. Let her guide you as you make a darling tea towel and learn many basic embroidery stitches. She ll cover tracing options, hoops, needles, etc. November Classes Photo coming soon Make and Take Potato Bag November 4 10:00 am to noon Teacher: Barb Hartnett Make a potato bag for yourself and then some more for hostess gifts, teacher gifts, and all your friends. Finished size is 70" x 70". Carpet Bag November 19 & 20 $40 & Noon to 4:00 pm A large roomy bag that is great for traveling. It has a large pocket on the outside and a large pocket on the inside. The zipper closure helps secure your belongings. The bag has wonderful detail features such as detachable shoulder straps that make this a classic bag. The are great for your sewing supplies, travel supplies, beach gear and make-up. Groups and Clubs Hoopin It Up Machine Embroidery Club Meets the 3 rd Friday of each month 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm Teacher: Phyllis Van Etten plus kit/design If you have an embroidery machine and enjoy getting together with the girls to embroider, this is the group for you. We learn new techniques and take home a completed project each month. You will need to bring your own threads, embroidery machine &/or module, hoops, whatever means you need to transfer the design to your machine, & basic sewing supplies.

7 Software Society 2 nd Saturday of the month 9:30 am 12:30 pm Teacher: Brenda Sheppard If you have Bernina Editor Plus V6 or Designer Plus Software V6, you will probably want to join our Bernina Software Club. We will all learn together while having a great time. If you are thinking about whether you might want to purchase the software we can buddy you up with another member so you can try it out. Bring your software and laptop to class. Lovers of Wool Sit n Stitch Meets each 2 nd Sunday of the Month 12:00 to 3:00 Coordinator: Pam Sorenson Work on your own project and learn from each other. You will be amazed at the creativity each of you have! This will be an informal, interactive group meeting. The idea is to enjoy each other and learn more about wool projects, techniques, and supplies. Be prepared to experience the passion so many of us have for wool. Quilting Divas Each Tuesday of the month 1:00 pm 7:00 pm $3.00 This group of ladies meets to work on their various quilt projects. It's a fun, relaxing time for everyone. Start at 1:00 pm and sew until about 7:00 pm. Bernina Machine Mastery First through Fourth Thursdays 9:30 am to 12:30 pm $ Free if machine was purchased at Sew Many Quilts; for others Teacher: Brenda Sheppard Master your Bernina Sewing machine as Brenda guides you through everything you need to know about your Bernina. This is a hands-on class.
