1 Sewing Classes and Clubs Basic Sewing Machines - Owners Class This class is for anyone who wants to learn how to use their basic sewing machine. Machine threading, cleaning the bobbin area, going through all the accessories, going over all the icons on the machine, and all the functions that your machine can do. Cost is $50 if you did not purchase your machine at Dublin Sewing Center Please check website dates and times. Bernina Sewing Machines - Owners Class This class is for anyone who wants to learn how to use their Bernina sewing or sewing-embroidery machine. Viking Sapphire, Eden Rose, Pfaff Expression, Baby Lock Symphony - Owners Class This class is for anyone who wants to learn how to use their sewing/quilting machine. Machine threading, cleaning the bobbin area, going through all the accessories, going over all the icons on the machine, and all the functions that your machine can do. Cost is $50 if you did not purchase your machine at Dublin Sewing Center. Please check website dates and times. Needle Hanger A fun, quick, three hour project. Learn to sew with vinyl, how to apply bias tape, which stabilizers to use for what effect, the benefits of using your walking foot, and how to use a teflon foot. 2 Machine Embroidery Classes and Clubs Bernina Sewing and Embroidery Machines - Owners Class This class is for machine owners who want to learn how to use their Bernina sewing-embroidery machine. Hands on sewing and embroidery will be taught. Class is $125 if you did not purchase your machine at Dublin Sewing Center. Please check website calendar for dates Mixed Sewing and Embroidery Machines - Owners Class This class is for machine owners who want to learn how to use their sewing-embroidery machine. Machine threading, cleaning the bobbin area, going through all the accessories, going over all the icons on the screen, and all the functions that your machine can do. Hands on sewing and embroidery will be taught. This class is for Baby Lock, Pfaff, and Viking owners that do not own top of the line machines. Not sure? Just call us and we will get you into the correct class. Class is $125 if you did not purchase your machine at Dublin Sewing Center. Please check website calendar for dates Sewing and Embroidery Club This club offers students a chance to improve their sewing and embroidery skills while creating a pre-designed project and is a wonderful opportunity to learn the latest sewing techniques using a wide variety of accessories, threads and materials. Seating is limited and registration is required. Time: Cost: Alicia Welcher and Heidi Graham This club meets every other month, either morning, afternoon or evening. Please check website for dates and time of meetings. Pro-rated depending on the month you join. Rose Trellis Diaper Shirt or Dress and Bloomers Learn to embellish lace with machine embroidery and to create beautiful tucks and scalloped piping as you make this adorable diaper shirt or dress. Both versions also include a lace-edged hem and button-up back. An adorable pair of bloomers finishes off the outfit nicely. Pattern fits sizes 3 months to 24 months. 3 Machine Embroidery Classes and Clubs (continued) Hoop Sisters Club Quilt as you go. Make a beautiful quilt over 10 months with all of the quilting done in the hoop. 5,6,7,8 or 9 inch blocks can be done on any machine with at least a 5x7 hoop. You don't have to bring your machine to class - stay for a one hour demonstration and take the monthly design on your own flash drive to stitch out in the comfort of your own home. Jerry Hunter 1st Tuesday of every month Time: 6pm to 7pm Cost : $10 Heirloom Block of the Month Club This class is offered four times each month for your convenience and meets ten months of the year. This club allows the students to learn how to use their large hoops, design positioning, and for those that do not have design positioning will learn how to re-hoop and line up while working on oversized designs. For the beginner, it is best to start with a quilt called Block Party unless you are overly enthusiastic and go right for the Latte Quilt. We have a few smaller quilts or wall hangings that are also good to work on. This year, we will be adding a whole cloth quilt to the list! A Gardener's Alphabet Block of the Month This class will be done in block of the month style where you will come, pick up your embroidery design, go home stitch it out and then come back and color the block. Each month we will use different coloring techniques. You can stay and color in class or you can go. It is up to you. If you need help with placement you can get it in class. 4 Embroidery & Sewing Technique Classes NEW! In our new Embroidery & Sewing Technique Classes, we will explore different machine feet, accessories and hoops until we know them inside and out. Some of the classes will be open to specific machines; others will be based upon certain feet, accessories and hoops. In all classes, you will create sample fabrics and embroideries that can then be integrated into projects of your choice. NEW! Circular Attachments - A Sewing Technique Class During this class, you will finally learn how to use that Circular Attachment! We will be working on two different ways of using the attachment to create pieces that can then be turned into pillows, quilt blocks, tote bags, etc. In the first, you will create an applique pig using various circles and arcs stitched with different sizes of satin stitches. In the second, we will add decorative stitches and different types of fabric to the skills learned in creating the pig. This class is open to specific circular attachments only. See supply list for a detailed list of eligible circular attachments. Thursday, August 29, 2013 NEW! Endless/Continuous Embroidery Hoops - An Embroidery Technique Class During this class, you will learn how to: Use endless/continuous hoops with designs that include alignment points as well as those that do not. How to add alignment points to any design with certain software programs. How to use the various types of design positioning available in many high-end machines to align designs with or without alignment points. Thursday, August 22, 2013 NEW! Viking/Pfaff Design Positioning Class (includes Majestic Hoop Instructions) - An Embroidery Technique Class Eager to learn more about your amazing, precise design positioning functions? Here s your chance! In this class, you will learn the ins-and-outs of the embroidery design positioning functions of your machine. As a bonus, those who have the Majestic or Grand Hoop will also get a chance to learn how to use it as well. 5 Serger Classes and Clubs Introduction To Your Serger This class is for anyone who wants to learn how to use their serger. Machine threading and settings will be covered. Learn how to correct the most common threading problems. Learn to adjust tension settings for any fabric or technique! Learn to adjust stitch width, length, and differential feed. Learn about serger threads & needles. Learn how to clean your machine. Review of all the accessories included with your machine. If you purchased your machine at Dublin Sewing Center this class is free. Didn t purchase your machine at Dublin Sewing Center? No problem - this class is available for a fee to those who did not purchase from Dublin Sewing Center. If you did not purchase your machine at Dublin Sewing Center class cost is $75 Please check website for dates and times of this class. Serger Club This club offers students a chance to learn various serging techniques using a variety of accessories, threads and materials. The workshop environment encourages attendees to bring in projects, questions, and problems for expert assistance. This club meets once every other month, with choices of morning, afternoon, or evening sessions. There will be no club in August Seating is limited and registration is required. Serger Foot Class In this class you will learn how to use the extra feet and accessories for your serger. Part 1 is for four thread sergers and it applies to the following machines: Baby Lock Eclipse/ Imagine/ Enlighten/ Evolve/ Evolution, Viking 936, s21, s25, Elna: 945, 744 sergers. Part 2 is only for Babylock Evolve, Evolution, and Cover Stitch If you own a serger that is only four threads then you can take Part One. If you own a Babylock Evolve, Evolution, or Cover Stitch, you can sign up for both Part One and Part Two. Part One covers the following feet: cording/piping, beading, ruffling/gathering, elastic, lace applicator, and clear. Part Two covers the Chain/cover stitch attachments for the Babylock Evolve/ Evolution/ BLCS Saturday July 13th Time: Part 1 10am to 1pm Cost: Part 1: $25 Part 2 Cost is $25

7 Software Classes Digitizing Club Do you own a digitizing software program and would like to learn more about the digitizing process? Digitizing Club will help you learn the art of machine embroidery design digitizing. A lesson is presented, usually with a graphic example that is provided, then using the tools that the software provides; you turn the graphic into embroidery. Usually the lesson will have a focus on one tool or technique. Floriani Total Control Software Class In this class we will explore and work with many of the features of your program. So if you have just purchased this program or have had it but not sure of all the things that you can do with it, you may be interested in this class! You will be creating sample files for you to have when you need to refresh. 8 Other Classes Need Help? This is a class where you can get the exact help you need. There are so many things that we sometimes just need a little extra help with and we don't always know how to get it if that is true for you then this class will do it! Perhaps you don't have time for a club but you want to go further using your sewing/embroidery or software but you have questions, then there may be help for you. Have you sewn all your life but left it for a while to do something else and now you want to get back into it by making something but need help getting started, come on in and get that help. Or you took that quilt class but now it is over and you don't remember how to finish it up. You need that little bit of help to continue on, come on in.
