2 TIPS FOR STITCHING THREAD VELVET DESIGNS. SEWING CENTER OF TAMPA BAY Thread Velvet Designs. 40 wt. Rayon embroidery thread blooms the best, but polyester or cotton threads can also be used. Thread Velvet embroideries are multiple satin elements, be sure to use embroidery weight thread. Because Thread Velvet embroidery builds up a lot of thread; you will have the best results if you use your (optional) Sensor Q Foot # When embroidering with the Sensor Q Foot, be sure to select Sensor Q Foot in your SET menu, or Free Motion Spring Action. Thread Velvet always has two colors, one stitched on top of the other. For best results, use the thread colors given, or two shades of the same color, in other words, light and medium red.
