1 Intrductin 1.1 WiSensys, Wireless Sensing System WiSensys : a wireless, easy t install, ready t use sensing system with data lgging capability. WiSensys is Wireless Value s prduct family fr accurately measuring, securely transmitting and lgging temperature and humidity cnditins. The wireless sensing system cnsists f sensr units and a base statin. The sensrs measure varius cnditins and transmit the measured data ver a secure wireless link t the base statin. The cverage f the system is determined by the distance between the WiSensys base statin and the sensrs. If the cverage area f 1 base statin is nt enugh, up t 2 additinal base statins can be added t increase the cverage area. All base statins can be netwrked t be able t cllect all measurement data n ne lcatin. 1.2 Sensrs Available sensrs are: WS-DLTi, digital temperature sensr WS-DLTa, analg temperature sensr (PT100, PT1000) WS-DLTc, digital humidity and temperature sensr WS-DLTh, thermcuple sensr (types J, K, S) WS-DLXa, analg sensr fr 4-20mA prcess signals WS-DLXv, analg sensr fr 0-30VDC prcess signals WS-DLXs, analg sensr fr 0-4VDC prcess signals WS-DLXac, analg sensr fr AC prcess signals WS-DLXc, digital sensr fr switch cntact signals WS-DLXcc, digital sensr fr switch cntact signals with sub-sampling (send n change) WS-DLXct, digital sensr fr switch cntact signals with sub-sampling (percentage f time pen/clsed) WS-DLC, digital CO2, humidity and temperature sensr WS-DLXt, pulse cunter WS-DLXp, pulse energy sensr WS-DLRs, energy sensr with a cntrllable relay (plug) WiSensys 1

Access the Settings dialg in the main menu under Edit. Figure 78: Accessing the settings General In the General tab, yu can adjust general settings fr SensrGraph. Figure 79: General settings Start up The settings in the Startup sectin cntrl hw SensrGraph behaves n startup. WiSensys 71

By selecting the Start minimized, SensrGraph will start minimized. SensrGraph will remember windw psitin and lcatin when started the next time. This is als valid fr the SensrGraph is maximized. Enabling the Lgin autmatically ptin will tell the sftware t try t lgin as Administratr t base statins n discvery when starting up. This is enabled by default. Disable the ptin if yu are using multiple SensrGraph installatins at different lcatins. T aut-detect base statin n start, yu can enable the Attempt t aut-detect base statins setting. SensrGraph will search all serial prts fr WiSensys devices and add them autmatically. Enabling aut-detectin f base statins can be risky when ther devices are cnnected t the PC n a serial prt. If this is the case, the devices can behave unexpectedly when SensrGraph is plling fr WiSensys devices. It is recmmended nt t enable this ptin in that case. By enabling Attempt t autmatically synchrnize SD card, the system will try t synchrnize the last 7 days frm the SD card s yu will nt have t d it manually when SensrGraph was nt running fr a maximum f seven days Other settings Here yu can adjust ther settings that d nt fit int ther categries. Disable the Keep relay settings fr energy sensrs up t date when using rules in WebSensys and yu want t run SensrGraph at the same time. This prevents SensrGraph frm sending cnflicting cmmands t the sensrs. Currently, this has nly effect n energy sensrs equipped with ne r mre relays Lgging In the Lgging tab, yu can cnfigure where SensrGraph shuld stre the measurement data and hw t cnnect t the database. WiSensys 72

Figure 80: Data lgging settings Lg directry specifies the full path t the database. Yu always have t specify the lcal path t the database, even if yu are cnnecting t a remte machine. In that case, specify the full path n the remte machine. Hst name r IP specifies the hstname t a remte server if yu use ne. This can als be the IP address r hstname t a PC where anther SensrGraph is running. By chsing the Cnnectin mde, yu can specify hw SensrGraph shuld cnnect t the database. By chsing the ptin Try lcal directry first, then try remte server, SensrGraph will first try t cnnect n the lcal directry but if the database is already in use by anther instance f SensrGraph, it will try t cnnect t the remte server. If yu nly want t cnnect t a remve server, yu need t select the Only try remte server ptin. Yu can als use an external database. PstgreSQL is supprted by default. It is nt recmmended t change the Database type when using built-in database. The default ptin is t use Apache Derby as database. This is a widely used and reliable database. If yu wish, yu can als select a different type f database engine when yu applicatin wuld wrk better with, but this is at yur wn risk Lgging frm multiple SensrGraph instances We recmmend that each installed SensrGraph instance is cnfigured with its wn database. This will prevent database incnsistencies. Hwever, it is pssible t lad sensr measurement frm ne database int multiple SensrGraph instances running n different PC s. T prevent duble data being inserted int the database, yu can cnfigure ne SensrGraph installatin t cmmunicate with the base statin(s), while the ther SensrGraph installatins d nt have any base statins cnfigured. When yu WiSensys 73

cnfigure the same database fr all the SensrGraph installatin, yu will still be able t read lgged data frm all SensrGraph, while nly the SensrGraph with a cnfigured base statin will lg the data. When using a WS-BSU-Ethernet-01, yu can cnnect up t fur (ne serial and three TCP/IP cnnectins) SensrGraph instances t ne base statin. T prevent duble data, it is recmmend that yu let nly ne instance f SensrGraph lg t a database and start the ther instances f SensrGraph in read-nly mde. Yu can find an icn fr read-nly mde in SensrGraph start menu flder. If yu want t use database and let multiple instances f SensrGraph installatins write t it, yu have t cnsider that it can be pssible that the same measurement values can be saved in the database multiple times. Make sure the clcks f the PC s running all the SensrGraph are set t the same time and time zne Alarms Here yu can chse in which way yu want t be infrmed f general alarms: pp-up message, r SMS. The and SMS are sent t the address specified. Figure 81: The alarms tab The general alarm currently defined is when SensrGraph cannt cmmunicate with a cnnected base statin r a sensr anymre. Infrmatin entered here will als be used as default settings fr new alarms. With this, yu can avid having t enter the same address r mbile number fr every new alarm defined. The address and mbile number entered are als used in the test settings fr and SMS (see and 3.8.5). If yu press Save at the bttm f the page, the values entered here are used as destinatins fr test and SMS. Yu can temprarily disable all alarms by disabling the All alarms enabled ptin frm the main menu. WiSensys 74

Figure 82: Temprarily enable r disable all alarms settings T be able t send when an alarm cnditin is met (see als sectin 3.5), yu must enter a valid SMTP server in the SMTP server field. This usually is the utging mail server f yur internet prvider. Yu shuld als enter a valid e- mail address in the Frm address field. This address is shwn as the riginating address in the resulting alarm . Figure 83: The tab Yu can als cnfigure SMTP authenticatin ptins if needed. If yu need SMTP encryptin, chse the desired setting (SSL, TLS r SSL/TLS). Make sure the selected setting is supprted by yur SMTP prvider. T test the functin, enter the destinatin address in the Test address field and press Send test . If the settings are crrect, yu will receive an with the applicatin title and versin. The address is nt stred when yu press the Save buttn at the bttm f the page. WiSensys 75

3.8.5 SMS settings T be able t send an SMS frm SensrGraph, yur PC must be cnnected t a device that can send SMS messages, e.g. a mbile phne r SMS gateway. Select the cmmunicatin prt t yur SMS device frm the list called SMS COM Prt. Yu can als chse the crrect cmmunicatin speed t yur SMS device here. Figure 84: The SMS tab Yu can test yu settings by prviding a telephne number in the Test phne number field and clicking the Send test SMS buttn. It is nt recmmended t use a mdem cnnected using a USB t RS232 cnverter. In sme cases, this can freeze the system cmpletely and a full hard reset f the PC will be required. The recmmended way t cnnect the mdem is by using a real serial prt r the real USB interface f the mdem. 3.9 Reprts SensrGraph can autmatically generate reprts. Reprts can be created and managed by selecting Reprt manager in the under Tls frm the main menu. Figure 85: Reprt manager dialg T create a new autmatic reprt, press the New buttn.
