Dorothy Cowlen, 2013 Dorothy Stewart Award recipient, will do a trunk show at the January meeting. We are very excited to see all of Dorothy s beautiful quilts!! Paper Shower We are having a Paper Product Shower for Lutheran Church of the Cross. 2 Coming up in February In February our speaker will be Marge Pearson. She will be talking about organizing and using your scraps. She will show what she does with scraps and how 4-patches and 9-patches turn into quilts. She ll show all of her scrap quilts along with other quilts that have been juried into AQS shows. Marge will also hold a workshop on February 16th named Scraps into Quilts. Students will being to organize their scraps and discover what can be done with the squares. Two patterns will be available to be used with simple 4 patches. The cost of the workshop is $20. If you have any questions please call Rita at or dprock@mschsi.com. Well it s a new year quilters. We had a stellar year last year with donation quilts. Let's make a New Year's resolution to beat that this year! Come prepared with suggestions for organizations to receive donation quilts and fired up to start quilting! Page 2

And don t forget to choose your new secret sister before you leave Monday. February 1st is the next Saturday Sew Saturday Sews are scheduled the first Saturday of the month. Starting at 9 am, it is a day to get together and work on a project of your choice. Everyone is welcome. You do not need to be a member of the guild to attend. Bring your lunch and join us. We ll have a great time. If you need more information about our Saturday Sew Days, please contact Pat Felderman at or Sheri Olson at January Refreshments Refreshments this month will be provided by the members listed for January. The member whose name is first in the list each month is the coordinator for the refreshments that month. Please remember the responsibilities of the refreshment committee each month: 1) Supply the goodies. 2) Supply the paper and plastic utensils. 3) Clean up after. 4) Take garbage out. Dumpster is right outside the back door. It is important that each one of us remains committed to these small responsibilities each month. Thanks!! 2014 Raffle Quilt The quilt is being made with 30 s fabrics. If you have any 30 s fabrics you would like to donate please bring them to the January guild meeting as we are anxious to begin working on the quilt We are asking for 5 inch strips with the minimum being 5x5.
