With her Tropical Toucan pattern, specially designed with crafty teens in mind, students will learn how to take a pattern, transfer it to fabric and then reassemble it to create a fabulous, customized Toucan! Nichole will teach embroidery basics and stitches so that teens can further customize their tropical bird. Ages 12 and up. Page 5 Free Motion Quilting Using Rulers Machine quilting using rulers on a domestic sewing machine has been getting a lot of attention in the quilting world recently.

In the first 3-hour class, you ll learn how to use the Bernina rulers and practice on muslin. You ll play with the 5 rulers that come in the Bernina starter set.

It take a little practice, but once you get the hang of it, you ll be hooked.

Saturday, August 25; 10:30 am 2:30 pm Rangeley Wall Quilt This one-day class will teach you a simple and accurate technique using the Tucker Trimmer to make this challenging wall hanging. The project can be made using just the four colors or it can be made scrappy by using a variety of fabrics for the different star points. Once learned, you can use this method to make the Rangeley table runner or Rangeley king size quilt. Quilts are donated to care facilities to be given to children who are ill, abused, or in difficult situations who could use the comfort of a handmade quilt. Although all the spots for sewing participants are filled, we can certainly use more volunteers to sew quilts at home. Kits will be provided. Or say that you really want to get the hang of paper-piecing or some other skill. Or maybe our classes just don t fit in your schedule. Talk to any one of us and we ll find you the right person at the right time to teach you what you need to know. $25 per hour per person.
