1 Fused Glass Fun Lives Here H t W rks 2011 Fused & Hot Glass Catalog Over the past 10 years that we have been teaching fusing we have created hundreds and hundreds of avid fusers! With so many repeat clients, people are wondering - what s next? Well, between the amazing fused glass projects in our store, an ever growing catalog of designs and the ever-churning minds of Darren and Marija - we have hundreds of ideas. Fusing Your Way! Welcome to Fusing Your Way where we don t tell you what to do - you tell us what you want to do - and we make it happen! All classes are run in a fun, relaxed, open-house format. Come and go as you please and do as many or as few projects as you wish. Do a plate, bowl or a platter. Do a panel or a window hanging. Do a candle cup or a vase. Do coasters, Course # Day Time jewelry or whatever. The possibilities are endless! Table space is limited to the first six people who book for the day. Since all projects are different, the cost of the class will vary with the projects you select. Fused Glass Panel During the class each student will have the opportunity to create a series of fused glass window hangings from a number of instructor inspired projects. $60 + HST (includes course fees, Saturday, October 8th, 2011 from 10:00 AM til 1:00 PM Great for beginner s absolutely no stained glass experience is necessary! Fused Glass Bowl During the class each student will have the opportunity to create a two layer round or square bowl from a number of instructor inspired projects. $80 + HST (includes course fees, Saturday, October 22nd, 2011 from 10:00 AM til 2:00 PM Great for beginner s absolutely no stained glass experience is necessary! Join us for an abbreviated version based on last year s HUGE hit Six Hours of Bling! Bling! Lite! This time our half day session will concentrate on making six really nice pieces of dichroic jewelry using assorted dichroic glass and dichroslides. Absolutely no stained glass experience is necessary and kids are welcome and encouraged! $35 + HST (includes course fees, Saturday, November 27th, 2010 from Torch Time Given the overwhelming popularity of the Glaskolben - Blown Glass Ornament Classes and the number of students we have generated, there has been a lot of requests for access to the setups so people can proceed at their own pace. Say hello to Torch Time book your space at one of our high-output MPS Torches with our extra large annealing blankets and go at your own pace. Book early as hourly space is limited. 5 Vitre-Fusing, created by our colleague Peter McGrain, is the art of combining fused glass with glass painting to create visually stunning glass art. Join Darren - the studio s Master Glass Painter - for a three session class that will introduce you to an amazing new skill. Vitre-Fusing The Art of Painting Fused Glass In the first class you will cut out project and get it ready for fusing. In the next class you will learn about vitreous glass paints and paint your primary lines. In the final class you will apply your shaded tones and highlights. The end result is a stunning masterpiece that will have your friends wondering how you did it! Join our List for Updates Darren O Brien Marija Dambergs Instructor Profiles As the owner & manager of Atlantic Stained Glass, Darren works hard to ensure the satisfaction of the students and clients. Darren sets the tone and curriculum for the classes, continually develops new classes and keys on keeping the student informed and entertained. When not buried in the operations of a growing business, on-going research and a demanding writing schedule, Darren continues to hone his skills in master level traditional glass painting and innovative fused glass techniques. Students and customers alike have come to enjoy his boyish charm and rakish antics; and though his espresso is now decaf it s still laughs aplenty! Years ago, Marija arrived in the store one day for a class and hasn t gone home since! So, we figured we d put her and her talents to work. As a veteran of every single class & workshop, Marija now has a hand in the design and administration of those same classes, as well as the development of some new ones. Lately her passion has revolved around the kiln. Marija has emerged as a gifted fuser with an uncanny knack for color combination and a natural skill for creating captivating designs. Marija constantly strives to add new techniques to her skill set with the idea to passing them on to the eager student. Always upbeat, Marija takes tremendous pride and personal ownership in all she does - whether it s teaching a class, experimenting with a new technique or perfecting a current one - Marija always gives her very best.
