2 Belly Dance The oldest traditional dance in the world will help relieve stress and increase muscle tone. Come out for fitness, come out for fun! A fusion of the East and the West, these classes will teach the latest trend in dancing. All levels from beginner to advanced are welcome! International Folk Dance Come and join the circle, and dance around the world! We will celebrate Canada s rich multi-culturalism by learning National dances, from all corners of the world. Circles and squares, ribbons and rounds, polka and promenade what a great way to pass an afternoon! No partner needed. Wear comfy shoes as some dances are quite lively. 3 Hula Dancing: Beginners Stay fit and have fun while learning one of the world s most beautiful dances the Hula. No other dance whittles the waist and hip area like Polynesian dance. Latin Dance Learn the basics of Salsa, Bachata, Merengue, Cumbia and Samba in this introductory course. Our professional instructor will teach the fundamental footwork, turns and movements. 4 Line Dance Love to dance, but lack a partner? Line dance is the perfect way to introduce yourself to the world of dance, teach your feet something new and have fun while working off a few calories! Geared towards complementing couples dance, line dance uses the same array of steps, aligning them into a pattern that can be danced to music solo. Basic This class is for the absolute beginner. Participants will be introduced to the basics of line dancing and will learn the different steps and sequences in a fun atmosphere. 5 Square Dancing Learn a variety of square dance moves, taught at a relaxed pace, and before you know it you will be dancing interesting patterns to lively music. Those who have not had any previous square dancing experience are welcome at classes starting in January and September. Those with previous experience may join at the beginning of any session. Whether you can play a little or not at all, this course is geared to the adult and leads to quickly understanding the guitar, what chords are, how they are used and shortcut methods to have you playing some of your favourite songs. 6 Guitar Lessons: Intermediate Prerequisite: Successful completion of Guitar Lessons Beginners, acoustic guitar, tuner and course instruction book ($20 payable to the instructor). Building on the beginner level, you will gain an understanding of barre chords, chromatic scale and numerical chord sequence or equivalent. You will also work on improving method, strumming technique, chord theory, developing bar chords, chord patterns and scales, and increasing your songbook. 7 Guitar Lessons: Bass Prerequisite: Electric bass guitar, amp and a good working knowledge of six string guitar, chord structure and barre chords. This introductory course is designed to give the guitar player understanding and technique in bass playing.
