We proudly present experienced instructors who are eager to share their love of beads and techniques with you. To sign up for a class, please contact each individual instructor, but hurry since class size is limited! Early registration is encouraged to avoid class cancellations. 2 DEBRA BURELL Debra Burell is a lifetime experienced crafter in yarn and beads. She is also a local representative/organizer for Care Wear, a non-profit organization that provides handcrafted wear to hospitalized infants. Debbie s hands-on experience comes from teaching others through in-home classes, craft shows, fairs and teaching in local businesses. Her passion comes from sharing the experience and excitement from accomplishing your first bracelet or project using jewelry crochet techniques. Debbie will show you how to utilize a crochet hook, beads and thread to create an heirloom quality three dimensional bracelet or necklace, just like your great-grandmother used to make. This jewelry crochet class promises fun in learning and will include guided, step by step instructions. Materials and hook are included. Two individual sessions offered. MAJESTA M. Majesta M. is an accomplished second generation jewelry designer. She is bringing her talents and passion of jewelry design all the way from Southern California. Majesta s classes & demonstrations are fun and intriguing with easy to follow instruction. Her main focus is to teach you not only wearable art, but also sellable art. 3 The bead spinner class is a fun way to do multiple strand necklaces in a fraction of the time using this amazing machine. Learn tips, tricks, and techniques. Students will then learn a fascinating weave that pulls it all together into a beautiful necklace! Wire Wrap Intro: Bindings $75 (materials included) Saturday, Oct. 2 nd, 9am-12:30pm, Board Room A Here is a great introduction to the basics of precise wire wrap bindings. Using non-intimidating projects you will learn binding techniques that are a wonderful foundation for more intricate wire wrapping. Students will be making at least 3 projects in class. Wire Wrapping 101 : Quickie Projects $75 (materials included) Sunday, Oct. 3 rd, 9am- 12:30pm, Board Room A This workshop will be an introduction to learning the basic mechanics and theory of wire wrapping. Students will learn how to create a beautiful & quick method of wrapping a heart or arrow shape. Embellishments may be added to create your own personal masterpiece. No experience required. MARILYN MOORE Marilyn's first love is basketry, and basketry-related jewelry. Since 1979, she has taught for guilds, conferences and conventions around the country, and has written numerous articles and been featured in many publications. Having graduated from the University of Washington with a BFA in Fiber Art in 1997, she continues to live and work in both the Southwest and Seattle and works primarily with wire. 4 Using Marilyn's unique method of blending color and using copper wire for spokes, explore the use of two colors of fine wire as a twining material. Students should come close to finishing one fish in class. The fish could be used as a pendant or make a matching one for a pair of earrings. All materials are included. Level: Beginner. Two dates to choose from. Fan: Twined Wire Earrings $100 (materials included) Saturday, Oct. 2 nd, 9am-12pm, Room 401 These lovely earrings will please the eye as well as will teach you to twine with fine colored wires at the same time. You will also learn to blend colors. At the end of class you will have a pair of stunning earrings to add to your collection. Materials included. Level: Beginner. Wire Cloth With a Flair $80 (materials included) Saturday, Oct. 2 nd, 1pm-4pm, Room 401 Students will receive 3 different 3 squares of wire cloth, copper, bronze and stainless steel. Learn how to cut, hem, corrugate and stitch on the wire cloth and see how to receive amazing flashes of color with a torch. Each 3 square can be cut to produce a pendant PLUS a pair of earrings. At least one pendant can be finished during class. Materials included. Level: Beginner. Coiled Brooch or Necklace $100 (materials included) Saturday, Oct. 2 nd, 4:30pm-7:30pm, Board Room A Coil a medallion - using embroidery floss and polished hemp - and make a brooch or a necklace. Embellish later with beads and charms. Also learn the knotting technique which makes a unique looking cord to form the necklace, if desired. All Weaving Levels

5 Crescent Twined Wire Earrings $100 (materials included) Sunday, Oct. 3 rd, 9am-12pm, Room 401 These asymmetrical earrings will please the eye as well as will teach you to twine with fine colored wires at the same time. Blending colors is also discussed. At the end of class you will have one stunning earring and the ability to finish the second one to match. All levels welcome. No image available at this time Teneriffe Embroidery Earrings $80 (materials included) Sunday. Oct. 3 rd 1pm-4pm, Board Room A In this class, the lacy embellishment used in pine needle basketry is adapted for earrings. Using dyed raffia and beads, students should complete at least one earring and receive materials for the second one. Students will choose the color they wish from prepared kits. All levels welcome. SHEILA OLASON Sheila is a Pacific Northwest artist and instructor who creates veiled glass beads (using specialized glass rods from Auckland, New Zealand), sterling silver-lined slides, and donuts. After a long career and involvement - since the 60 s - at the University of Washington, in numerous Northwest arts groups and glass societies, and teaching throughout the Northwest and Canada, Sheila now resides in the Southwest. She continues to support her roots and participates in the Northwest Arts Alliance (Best of the Northwest), Arts Council of Snohomish County (WA), and the Northwest Bead Society. 6 Silver Beadlining using Rivet/Pandora Techniques $75 (some materials included) Saturday, Oct. 2 nd, 4:30-7:30pm, Room 401 Sunday, Oct. 3 rd, 1pm-4pm, Room 401 Sterling silver-lined lampwork beads (riveted/pandora) are finished pieces of jewelry, designed to be worn in several different ways. Using this method to enhance lampwork beads offers many new design options and produces an elegant look and added value to the transformed beads. Students will learn how to choose metal components, measure the tubing insert, enlarge bead cap holes, anneal the metal, and rivet the metal tube onto the lampwork beads.
