In this class you will learn to measure, cut, solder, shape and stamp your own personal message for you, a family member or friend. Not only will you impress yourself with your creation, but your friends and family as well. You are sure to receive compliments when you wear it, and you can proudly say I made it myself! In this class we will focus on making impressions on metal, metal forming, texturing, sweat soldering a bezel, and setting a cabochon. Cabachon Ring Sat July 21 Sat Aug 25 Class $65 Sun Sept 9 Create your own statement ring with a cabachon of your choice. You will have the choice of texturing with one of the several hammers provided or leaving your piece with a mirror finish. Whatever you choose it will be fabulous! In this class you will learn to measure per your ring size, shape your ring, line solder, and sweat solder your bezel, and then set your cabachon Pine Needle Basket Class I Instructor:MicheleMorton Class $70 Sat July 7 Sat Sept 15 Busy hands and creative minds will enjoy learning the art of coiled weaving. In this basic class, you master the swirling stitch by weaving around a prepared cabochon to create a simple and beautiful pine needle basket. We will discuss the different materials that can that can be used for coiling, and explore the countless ideas for new and exciting centerpieces. Learn how to incorporate beads to create a desired shape. Bring your weaving supplies and partially constructed project to class and let s create another beautifully woven art piece. If you just need a refresher of the beginning class techniques or want to be surrounded by wonderful people with creative minds while you weave, please join us. Ask for supply list Limit 6 students Celtic ChainmailleBracelet Thurs Sept 6 In this class you will learn the Celtic Chainmaille weave and create a stunningbracelet. TheCeltic weave can be made in multiple sizes and also be used as a lovely chain for a necklace.. Queen s Lace Chainmaille Bracelet Thurs Sept 20 Chainmaille is an ancient art form, dating back to the 5th Century Celts, created by linking individual metal rings together. This box chainmaille is great fun to work with and will make a distinctive presence on anyone s wrist. Byzantine Chainmaille Bracelet Thurs Aug 9 Learn how to create a Byzantine bracelet, using one of the most versatile chainmaille weaves. While Byzantine itself makes a stunning bracelet, necklace or earrings, it also looks stunning when combined with other weaves, colored rings or beads to create even more unique pieces. Double Spiral Chainmaille Bracelet Sun July 8 Thurs Aug 30 This classic sterling silver bracelet has a spiraling, almost rope like appearance. French Rope Chainmaille Bracelet Thurs Aug 16 French rope chain delivers an eye-catching textured look which reflects light beautifully. the interconnected links look fabulous when worn plain or with a charm or pendant added. Dragon StepsBracelet Thurs July 19 Sun Aug 5 Class $45 Kit$40 There be Dragons. Dragon Steps is unique, flexible and a fun bracelet weave. While beautiful in silver, it could also be done in accenting colors. Jens Pind Bracelet Thurs. Aug 2 Level:Intermediate Sat Sept 29 Jens Pind is a tight spiral weave that does not unwind. It makes a wonderful bracelet, necklace or even an ankle bracelet. This weave can also be made in a thicker gauge than presented in class. The result is a bold bracelet for women or a great bracelet for a man. While the pattern looks simple, it requires precise placement of each ring so that every third ring maintains a consistent angle of overlap. Open Circles Bracelet Thurs July 26 Level:Intermediate Sun Sept 23 This stunning weave catches the light and eye in such a way that it looks like sparkling gems. 4 Introduction to PMC (Precious Metal Clay) Class $90 Kit/Usage Fee $25 Instructor:Carrie Desimone & prerequisite for all other PMC Classes Sat July 28 Sat Sept 29 You ll discover how to handle and care for your PMC, as well as design earrings & pendant with a bail. Textures and templates will be available for use in class. Instructions will be offered for kiln firing, torch firing and different strategies to finish your pieces. Bring an apron & lunch/snacks Clay will be available to purchase from instructor. If you bring your own clay be sure it is PMC 3, PMC Plus or PMC Flex only Limit 4 students PMC Skills, Charms & SS Posts Instructor:Carrie Desimone Sun Aug 12 Class $90 Usage Fee $10 Sun Sept 30 Now that you have the basics down, you want to add a stone(cz), make a ring, make a bead, improve your syringe skills or add earring posts. This class is designed small so that up to 4 students can focus on adding to your skills. Most often there is only time to learn and finish one new skill in class, so this class may be one where you come several times over the year. If you have a project in mind we can work on that too. The instructor will have heat safe CZs & SS ear posts for sale and clay of course. If you decide to bring your own CZs make sure you check the color safe tables - we will fire at 1650 degrees for 2 hours many of the CZs won t keep their color at that temperature so be sure to check first. Bring an apron, your tools and lunch. Limit 4 students Bezel 3 Ways in PMC Instructor: Carrie Desimone Class $195 Usage Fee $20 /Advanced Sat/Sun Sept 22 & 23 both days both days Everyone loves a cabochon in silver. In this class you will learn to set stones with PMC that you cannot fire. Bring your own cabochons to set. (You will need 2 for the larger projects.) If you want to set cabochons in bezel cups, I will have sets that match for sale. If you want to purchase your own, make sure your bezel cups are fine silver and that your stones fit in them. If you bring your own clay be sure it is PMC 3, PMC Plus or PMC Flex only. This is an awesome class and you will love what you create. Don t forget to bring your apron, tools and lunch. Limit 4 students Wire Crochet Necklace or Bracelet Class $35 Instructor: Carrie Desimone Thurs July 26 5pm - 9pm /Intermediate Learn to crochet this Necklace (beginner) or Beaded Cuff (intermediate) in an evening. I wear my bracelets all of the time and have people stopping me to look at them and ask how they are made. Everyone wants one! This evening session will get you started and I will give you instructions for finishing. Beg/Intermediate Sat Sept 15 A gorgeous Fine Silver Cuff Bracelet, which has a definite WOW factor. The bracelet is crafted of Fine silver for all components, height of ¾ and is a cold connection, no soldering. Students will learn how to ball up the unique handmade rivets. Bring your lunch and friends to have a great time in this class. Ask for Supply List Wire Wrap Cabochon Pendant Instructor: Lily Zamora Class $35 Sat July 7 Sun Sept 9 12:30pm - 3:30pm 12:30pm - 3:30pm Learn the basics to wire-wrapping your favorite cabochon into a beautiful pendant. This is a great wire wrap to learn as it can lead to so many more inspiring creations! Prerequisite: Some experience working with wire Wire Wrap Lampwork Pendant Instructor: Sabine Escobar Class $35 Sun Sept 30 12:30m - 3:30pm What to do with all those beautiful focal beads? In this class, we will learn how to display your favorite lampwork bead. We will generate a simple wire-weaved lampwork bead that can be hung on your favorite chain or cord. 6 Embellished Adjustable Bracelet / Beginning Bead Stringing Instructor: Sabine Escobar Sun July 22 Class $30 12:30pm - 3pm Learn the basics of bead stringing using flex-wire, crimp beads and texturing a flat silver strip as an embellishment. The finishing touch will be an adjustable macramé knot. Be Charmed/Beginning Wire Wrapping Class $30 Instructor: Sabine Escobar Sat July 14 Sat Aug 11 12:30pm - 3pm 12:30pm - 3pm Learn the basics of wire wrapping by creating a themed charm bracelet. We will learn how to use three basic wire-wrapping tools to add beads/charms and a clasp. With this knowledge, you can then go on to create longer necklaces by connecting beads and gemstones. Design ideas are endless Textured Peyote Bracelet- The basics Instructor: Ellen Perrin Sat July 21 11am - 3pm Sun Aug 26 Class $40 /Intermediate Beaders love texture. This bracelet, made with cylinder and seed beads, results a beautiful piece of jewelry and lots of texture. In this basic class you will learn how (or refresh your skills) to use even count, 2-drop, peyote stitch and learn how to embellish the base to add more color and texture. You will also learn how to treat and finish the edges and we will talk about various types of closures from snaps to toggles. We will discuss a variety of design options based on horizontal and diagonal rows. Pick your colors and your beads and come see how to put them together in interesting ways to create a bracelet you will love wearing and getting compliments on. You will not finish this project in class. Animal Print/Free Form Textured Peyote Bracelet Instructor: Ellen Perrin Sat Aug 18 11am - 3pm Class $40 This design takes the basics of the Textured Peyote Bracelet and shows you how to go wild with it for an interesting variation and more elaborate embellishing and edging. You should be comfortable with even count 2-drop peyote and stitch in the ditch embellishment to get the most from this class. You will not complete this project in class. 7 Textured Peyote Necklace Instructor: Ellen Perrin Class $40 Sun Sept 16 11am - 3pm Expand your textured peyote design repertoire to create a stunning necklace. This class will show you how to increase and decrease to create a graduated base and then finish a necklace that is both beautiful and wearable. Beyond the basics, we ll discuss more variations, edge treatments, toggles and refine our finishing techniques. You will not finish this project in class. Disk Necklace with Chain Class $45 Sun Aug 26 11am - 4:30 pm Create your own disks necklace, earrings, and chain by using a disks cutter, jump rings, and attaching an ear wire. By selecting your disk size, texture, arrangement of the disks, and attaching your handmade chain, you will have a piece that will be uniquely yours. In this class you will learn how to properly use a disk cutter (that has the option to create washers), a flex shaft to drill holes in your disks and pliers to create a chain for your creation. ******************************************************************************************************** 10% discount will be given on the day of class for class supplies. Classes will only be held if there are 3 or more people attending. Do the buddy System. When signing up for a class, encourage a buddy to take it with you to make sure the class is not cancelled and you will be able to enjoy the techniques you wanted to learn.
