Classes provide great opportunities to learn jewelry making techniques and to meet other beaders! 2 Class discount Sign up for 2 classes and get $10 off. Class instructors - We have over 20 instructors! Some are employees, and most are long-time 1SBS customers with years of experience. Class techniques - Our classes cover a broad spectrum of jewelry making techniques including:, Pearl Knotting Weaving: Peyote, Right-Angle Weave;, and more Glass Fusing Macrame and Micro-Macrame Wire Wrapping and Weaving Metal Working And more. Class samples - Instructors provide samples for their classes and are on display in the store. Pictures are posted with class descriptions on our website. Class policies and reminders You can register for classes in person, by phone, and on our website. If you are unable to attend, you may receive written instructions or send someone in your place. Classes typically require a minimum of three students. If a class is cancelled, then you will be given class credit which may be applied to a future class. 1SBS may cancel a class due to inclement weather or for other unforeseen reasons. If we cancel a class, then you receive a class credit or a refund. Bring your own tools, if you have them. Tools are available to share during class if you do not. Class kits are available the day of class. Kit colors and materials may vary from the sample. Class supplies - Materials are not included in the class fee unless otherwise noted. We offer class kits that include what you need to complete one class project. Some classes require your to purchase simple tools and materials for pre-class work. We understand that our scheduled classes may not work with your busy schedule, so we offer one-on-one Classes On Demand. Classes On Demand Learn the fundamental skills of jewelry making with a Class On Demand. Our fee is $25 per hour per person and may be scheduled at your convenience. Choose from the following beginner level techniques: Pearl Knotting Wire Wrapping Wire Working Weaving Right-Angle Weave Peyote Class Cards Take classes to earn a free class! The back of the 1SBS business card is a class tracker. Have your instructor sign and date your class card. Six classes earn you a discount on a single purchase. Twelve classes earn you a class (worth up to $30)! (Pre-class work required.) Tools: disk, bobbins, weight Bohemian Crochet Class Fee: $30 Kit: $10-$ Crochet Saturday, January 1 Find the fun of bead crocheting with this easy breezy necklace! Imitation Chalcedony Class Fee: $30 Materials Monday, January 21 Druzy fans, here s your chance to imitate this gorgeous and expensive!- translucent layered mineral with the subtle sparkle we all adore. Materials: Three blocks of Premo translucent and one block of Premo white. Tools: Bring a polymer clay blade (not the Studio by Sculpey kind that comes with detachable plastic handles), an X-Acto knife, and a glass or smooth glazed tile worksurface. If you already have one, bring your pasta machine and your acrylic roller I will bring some to share. Weaving Class Fee: $25 Weaving Tuesday, January 22 This is a great class to begin your beading adventure! Take a needle, some beading thread, and a selection of sparkling beads to create your first beaded bracelet. (This class is also available on demand.) Arabesque Netted 2 Wire Weave Ring Saturday, February 2 11:00-5:00 In this group project, we ll work together to make a very large cane, which we ll split up and combine to make an unlimited quantity of kaleidoscopic patterned beads. PREWORK! Materials: At least blocks of conditioned (that s the prework) Premo brand polymer clay: 2 of white, 1 of black, 3 of one color and 2 of a different color. The two colors you choose should be colors that can mix with each other to make a third good color (for example, don t choose turquoise and orange.) Please do not choose metallic, pearl, translucent, or glitter colors. Tools: Bring one used and one brand new polymer clay blade (avoid Sculpey blade w/ handles), an X-Acto knife, and a glass or smooth glazed tile work surface. If you already have one, bring your pasta machine and your acrylic roller. Tools: Bring a polymer clay blade (not the Studio by Sculpey kind that comes with detachable plastic handles), an X-Acto knife, a very fine paintbrush, and a glass or smooth glazed tile worksurface.
