1 November - December 2018 Workshop sign-up starts Friday, October 26th (10am) That s A Wrap v $35 Saturday, November 3 (10am-1pm) OR Sunday, December 30 (10am-1pm) Highlight a favorite cabochon using this classic prong setting wire wrap technique that uses both square and half-round wires. The beauty of the prong setting is that it doesn t compete with your stone, therefore showing more stone than wire, and it s secure. Also, learn how to create a functional built in bail and embellish to your liking. Basic wire working experience is required. Swivel Bails v $25 Saturday, November 10 (10am-12pm) If you ve ever wanted to get your feet wet in metal working, this is the class for you. Swivel Bails is a cool way to make statement pieces with just a piece of sheet metal and a nice stone donut or large hole bead. Because it swivels, the pendant looks great in any direction. Experienced students can expect to make at least two bails in class. Previous metal working experience is helpful but not required. Soldering Basics v $55 Saturday, November 3 (2-5pm) Trillium Pendant Necklace v $55 Saturday, November 10 (1-5 pm) Learn the basics of soldering while creating this fashionable sterling silver linked bracelet. We ll cover soldering techniques where you ll learn how to heat and flow solder like a professional. We will also cover flux, solder, pickle, and the tools required to get you started. All skill levels welcome. Fall colors highlight this beautiful pendant through the use of special patinas and textured metal. Intermediate students will cut sheet into two graduated sizes and create a multi-layered riveted connection. A gemstone drop and a leather and chain necklace complete the piece. Previous metal fabrication experience is required. Neo Pendant Necklace v $35 Sunday, November 4 (10am-1pm) Wrap Around Twist v $35 Sunday, November 11 (10am-1pm) Like the Golden Spiral, the Neo Pendant Necklace is a spacial exercise rendered in metal and gemstones. Experienced students will hone their metal working skills and new students will learn quite a few basic fabrication techniques to take them to the next level of handcrafting metal jewelry. Copper Leaf Lariat Necklace v $35 Sunday, November 4 (2-5pm) Stars & Moon v $35 Sunday, November 11 (2-5pm) Students will learn to make textured copper leaves for this beautiful lariat necklace. Bead stringing a mixed palette of seed beads, crystals, fresh water pearls and glass beads makes this an intricately textured piece. Embellish the ends to your hearts content. Perfect for the upcoming Fall season. Previous sheet metal experience is helpful but not required. If you ve ever wanted to learn basic looming, this is the perfect project for you. Learn how to dress the loom, what is warp and weft threads, and how to follow a loom graph. You ll also learn a neat trick that makes finishing off your threads a snap. After you ve completed your bracelet, you will know how to make a matching choker for a stunning ensemble. All skill levels welcome. Pop the Cork Redux v $35 Thursday, November 8 (1-4pm) In this workshop you will be learning how to use graduated tubular netting to create this Tiffany glass inspired pendant. Students will finish their necklace off with some wire linking techniques. Dress Me Up Ornament v $35 Tuesday, November 13 (1-4pm) OR Thursday, December 6 (1-4pm) What better gift to provide family and friends this holiday season than this beautiful ornament. Put your netting stitch talent to work by creating this veil of beads to embellish your Christmas ornaments. Bead netting experience is helpful.
2 Winterscape Wire Cuff v $55 Wednesday, November 14 (2-7pm) Learn to form and wire weave with this spectacular Art Nouveau style cuff. Delicate gemstone rondelles and a beautiful coin pearl create the wintry tableau. This cuff can be constructed in copper for a fall palette. Bronze is not recommended. Good hand and finger strength is required. Previous wire working experience is required. by Sallie Licata Endless Possibilities Necklace v $35 Saturday, November 24 (10am-1pm) OR Friday, December 28 (11am-2pm) This class will show you several creative ways to use wire to frame different shapes of lampwork beads. We will use coiled twisted wire to create links from rondelle beads and frames from lentil shaped beads. By floating these on different lengths and sizes of chain we create a multi-strand necklace with endless possibilities. Basic wire working experience is required. Tubular Herringbone fs v $25 Friday, November 16 (12-3pm) The Herringbone stitch is also referred to as Ndebele, and is a delicate and fluid stitch. This class will concentrate on a tubular version of the herringbone stitch using size 8º seed beads. It is a perfect stitch for necklaces and bracelets alike and is a great foundation stitch to add to your wheelhouse. All skill levels welcome. Prettier Than A Penny v $35 Saturday, November 24 (2-5pm) OR Sunday, December 23 (1-4pm) In this workshop students will learn how to make a wire bangle using square wire. Techniques covered will include twisting square wire, binding with halfround wire, forming and shaping bangle to fit, and a custom hook closure. Basic wire working experience is required. Oval Beauty v $25 Saturday, November 17 (10am-12pm) In this workshop you will be learning how to bezel encase your rivoli crystal with beads. Use circular peyote stitch to encase and then use a two-drop flat peyote stitch to quickly make your ring band. Photo by WENDY REMMERS Byzantine Chain v $35 Sunday, November 25 (10am-1pm) The Byzantine chain is one of the most classic chainmaille patterns out there and is also used to create alternate designs using Byzantine segments. Basic chainmaille experience is required. Required jump ring kits available in SS, SF, copper, brass, and two-tone combinations. Cornucopia v $45 Saturday, November 17 (1-5pm) Into the Blue v $35 Sunday, November 25 (2-5pm) Create this twisted tubular herringbone rope bracelet with a beaded cap motif at the end that resembles the cornucopia. Referred to as the horn of plenty, it is typically seen with fruit or flowers flowing from it. In our version we will be adding a spray of beads instead and a integrated clasp that blends perfectly. Herringbone stitch experience is required. This pendant is reminiscent of the hidden oasis found in caves. We will go over some bead embroidery wire wrapping techniques. Students will have the option to use a glass cabochon with a picture instead of the Lunasoft Lucite Cab seen in sample. Fleur d Lis Chandelier Earrings v $25 Sunday, November 18 (10am-12pm) Tres chic, non? Learn to control square wire with a stepped plier and craft it into these beautiful and classic fleur d Lis chandelier earrings. Crystals catch and reflect the light, and the patina gives the metal in these earrings an Old World elegance. Semi-precious stones or pearls would also work well. Bonus instruction: ear wires. Basic wire working experience is helpful but not required. Fold Away v $45 Tuesday, November 27 (12-3pm) OR Sunday, December 30 (2-5pm) Time to try something different. Use a microfold brake to add corrugation to your metal gauge sheet metal can be used in this industrial tube wringer to add texture and dimension. Come and have some fun making these statement earrings that will add flair to your earring collection. Basic metal working experience is required. Wildflower Brooch/Pendant Redux v $45 Sunday, November 18 (1-5pm) Art Deco Hoops v $25 Wednesday, November 28 (2-4pm) This stunning piece is a pretty pendant that pulls double duty with a pin back so you can wear it like a brooch whenever you want. Gorgeous in any color, using crystals or gemstones is a must for the visual impact of color, texture, and play of light that only faceted crystals or gemstones can bring. Bonus demo: How to make a pin component. Good wire experience is required. Learn to shape wire into these curvy Art Deco inspired hoops and embellish them with crystals and pearls. Bellisima Pendant is a dream for wire workers. Students will create an armature for a favorite focal bead and then create a beautiful beaded chain. Basic wire working and wire wraps are the focus. LOS patina will be an option for that aged look. Previous wire working experience is helpful but not required. New at beading? This class is especially designed for you. Learn the basics on beads, findings, stringing materials, tools, and how to get started in the wonderful world of beading. Students will achieve this look by using right angle weave stitches to create the necklace and a circular peyote stitch to encase cube crystals that mirror fine bezeled gemstone drops. A Fancy Twist v $35 Saturday, December 1 (10am-1pm) A Walk in Winter v $35 Saturday, December 8 (10am-1pm) In this workshop you will be stitching with twisted tubular herringbone and making beaded beads using netting stitch. Finish with some wire linking to bring your beautiful bracelet together. Previous tubular netting stitch experience is required. Materials list. Encase a special cabochon with delicate seed beads and showcase it on this elegant and sleek beaded bracelet. Embellish with sparkling dots of crystals and end with a unique metal stamping or a traditional multi-strand clasp. Peyote stitch and basic bead weaving experience is required. My Dearest Love v $35 Saturday, December 1 (2-5pm) Holly Jolly v $35 Saturday, December 8 (2-5pm) In this workshop you will be using a combination of circular peyote and netting stitch to create the three medallions. Then use wire linking techniques to finish your delicate connectors. Previous peyote stitch and wire linking experience is required. Tis the season for Holly Jolly goodness! What better way to show off your spirit for the holiday season by making this fun and cheerful Christmas inspired loomed bracelet. Students will learn how to read and follow a bead pattern, pick up on tips and tricks including a delicate edging embellishment, and finish with a super cool slide tube connector and toggle clasp. Previous bead looming experience is helpful but not required. Double Duty v $35 Sunday, December 2 (10am-1pm) Eclat Drop Earrings v $25 Sunday, December 9 (10am-12pm) Try your hand at making these lovely earrings using the European chainmaille weave. Sharpen your skills by using small jump rings to create these mini shields of magic. Add a crystal to give these earrings the bling that makes everyone notice their beauty. Basic chainmaille experience is required. Eclat means brilliant display or effect, which is what you ll create when you wear these earrings. A simple design but with a challenging setting, this is a good class to hone heavy gauge wire skills. These earrings can be made with 4mm or 6mm cubic zirconia stones. Previous metal working experience is required. Scalloped Tennis Bracelet v $35 Sunday, December 2 (2-5pm) Luxe Cabochon Earrings v $35 Sunday, December 9 (1-4pm) by Nancy Sebestyen The name and popularity of the tennis bracelet is due to a 1987 US Open match where Chris Evert lost a diamond bracelet. Ever since then this in-line diamond bracelet design was christened the tennis bracelet. It has led to a worldwide fashion trend that still remains today. Interpret this design using sparkling crystals, seed beads and a right angle weave technique. All skill levels welcome. Luscious matching cabochon stones are the perfect foil for these elegant earrings. Intermediate students will learn how to make a new type of wire prong and how to prong set the cabs. Custom ear wires for this particular design will also be in the instruction. Previous metal fabrication experience is required.
4 Aurora Borealis v $35 Wednesday, December 12 (6-9pm) Victoria v $35 Saturday, December 22 (10am-1pm) The Aurora Borealis illuminates radiant colors that paint the sky and makes it look like it s dancing. In this class you will learn how to incorporate netting stitch and some peyote stitch to encase crystal rivolis. Adding layers of netting and embellishing with rich colors will add the finishing touches to your very own aurora borealis and make it dance around your wrist. Previous bead weaving experience is required. In this workshop you will be learning to encase a small chaton crystal and make a large statement ring. Wear it to dress up a casual outfit or stun your guests at a party. You will be using a combination of circular peyote, herringbone, and netting stitches to create this ring. Previous peyote stitch experience is required. Easy Peezy Tennis Bracelet v $25 Saturday, December 15 (10am-12pm) Simply Stitched v $35 Saturday, December 22 (2-5pm) Tennis bracelets outnumber the amount of women who play tennis. The reason is clear. It s difficult not to be drawn to that simple yet elegant circle of dazzling diamonds around one s wrist. Students will learn to handcraft two types of knuckle hinges, blind wire rivets, multi-layered sheet riveting, and an emphasis on metal finishing. Previous metal fabrication and cold working experience is required. A beautiful Florentine design combined with a gorgeous stone and a gemstone drop makes Romantica Pendant Necklace a lovely centerpiece for your wearing pleasure. Learning to adapt a pre-made component, wire wrapped beaded chain and making a bail for a side drilled bead are the main techniques in this class. Previous wire working experience is required.
