1 April-June 2018 Class Schedule Spinner Rings Instructor: Kathy Robertson Store Hours: Tues, Wed, Fri, Sat: 10:00 a.m. 6:00 p.m. Thurs 10:00 a.m. 9:00 p.m. Sunday 12-5p.m Class $65 Sat April 14 Sat May 12 Sat June 16 10am - 5pm 10am - 5pm 10am - 5pm Spinner, fidget or stress relief, whatever you choose to call them, spinner rings are fun. In this class you will learn to measure, cut, solder and shape your ring blank and the ring that will be your spinner. Not only will you impress yourself with your creation, but your friends and family as well. Bring your lunch, your patience and your joy for a full day of fun. Copper Cuffs Class $45 Instructor: Kathy Robertson Sat April 21 Sat May 26 12pm 4pm 12pm 4pm Sat June 23 12pm 4pm These Copper Cuffs are an attention grabber. You are sure to receive compliments when you wear it, and you can say I made it myself. In this class we will focus on making impressions on metal, metal forming and texturing. Stacked Rings Class $55 Instructor: Kathy Robertson Sat April 28 10am - 5pm Sat May 19 10am - 5pm Stacked Rings can be worn as a set to make a statement or individually for a delicate look. In this class we will be texturing and shaping wire, attaching a bezel and charm, and finishing to create three rings that will be uniquely yours. Bring your lunch, your patience and your joy for a full day of fun. Let s Color It! Instructor: Tracy Stanley Class $45 Sat May 26 11am - 5pm Adding color to a piece has always intrigued me.but I am not someone that likes a lot of high tech fussing. Using colored pencils is a great way to achieve unique one of a kind patterns to your pieces. The best part is you don t need to have drawing skills to be successful! After learning all the techniques to applying the color, we will explore different pieces that you can make with it!

Instructor: Tracy Stanley Sun April 22 11am - 5pm Class $45 Etching with harsh chemicals has never been my thing.although I loved the results, the toxic chemicals, clean up and disposal yuck! But then I was introduced to etching with salt water and I said.i M IN!! I think you will agree with me there is no reason to do it another way! Come to class and learn a variety of methods of applying designs to your metal to create super interesting pieces. In this class you will also learn how to use these pieces to create your own personal pendant or earrings using metal working and riveting techniques. Come.learn explore! Ask for supply list Limit 6 students Embellished Pendant & More Instructor: Tracy Stanley Class $45 Sat June 23 11am - 5pm Create yourself a beautiful embellished pendant, pin, even earrings! This class will guide you through the process, but fair warning.you will never want to stop with just one! You can use a metal piece you have already made or create a new one in class. Class will include metalworking. If you can sew on a button, you will be able to create this beautiful piece. Ask for supply list Limit 6 students Pine Needle Basket Class I Instructor: Michele Morton Sat April 14 10:30am - 5pm Fri May 18 10:30am - 5pm Class $70 Busy hands and creative minds will enjoy learning the art of coiled weaving. In this basic class, you master the swirling stitch by weaving around a prepared cabochon to create a simple and beautiful pine needle basket. We will discuss the different materials that can that can be used coiling, and explore the countless ideas for new and exciting centerpieces. Learn how to incorporate beads to create a desired shape. Bring your weaving supplies and partially constructed project to class and let s create another beautifully woven art piece. The Celtic weave can be made in multiple sizes and also be used as a lovely chain for a necklace.. Queen s Lace Chainmaille Bracelet Class $40 Kit $35 Sat June 30 12pm - 3pm Chainmaille is an ancient art form, dating back to the 5th Century Celts, created by linking individual metal rings together. This box chainmaille is great fun to work with and will make a distinctive presence on anyone s wrist. Byzantine Chainmaille Bracelet Thurs April 19 Class $40 Kit $40 Thurs June 14 Learn how to create a Byzantine bracelet, using one of the most versatile chainmaille weaves. While Byzantine itself makes a stunning bracelet, necklace or earrings, it also looks stunning when combined with other weaves, colored rings or beads to create even more unique pieces. 4 European 4-in-1 Chainmaille Bracelet Sat May 12 11am - 3pm Class $45 Kit $40 The European 4-in-1 is an ancient weave first used to make protective armor for medieval warriors. This weave drapes beautifully on the body, offering an ornate, eye-catching accessory sure to complement any outfit. Students will learn to make the standard bracelet as well as the technique for expanding the weave. French Rope Chainmaille Bracelet Sat May 19 12pm -3pm Class $40 Kit $40 French rope chain delivers an eye-catching textured look which reflects light beautifully. The interconnected links look fabulous when worn plain or with a charm or pendent added. Scales Chainmaille Bracelet Class $40 Kit $40 Thurs May 24 This beautiful bracelet is called Scales because of its visual design and how it gently hugs and almost feels like its a part of your arm. It is graceful ad elegant yet easy to create. Introduction to PMC (Precious Metal Clay) Class $80 Kit/Usage Fee $25 & prerequisite for all other PMC Classes Sat April 7 10am - 6pm Sat May 5 10am - 6pm Sun June 24 10am - 6pm You ll discover how to handle and care for your PMC, as well as design earrings & pendant with bail. Textures and templates will be available for use in class. Instructions will be offered for kiln firing, torch firing and different strategies to finish your pieces. Bring an apron & lunch/snacks Clay will be available to purchase from instructor. If you bring your own clay be sure it is PMC 3, PMC Plus or PMC Flex only. Limit 4 students Add basic skills to knowledge of PMC Sun April 8 Sun May 6 Sat June 30 10am - 6pm 10am - 6pm 10am - 6pm Class $90 Usage Fee $10 So now that you have the basics down, you want to add a stone(cz), make a ring, or make a bead or improve your syringe skills. Well this class is designed small so that up to 4 students can come and we will focus on adding to your skills. Most often there is only time to learn and finish one new skill in class, so this class may be one where you come several times over the year. If you have a project in mind we can work on that too. The instructor will have heat safe CZs for sale and clay of course. If you decide to bring your own CZs make sure you check the color safe tables we will fire at 1650 degrees for 2 hours many of the CZs won t keep their color at that temperature so be sure to check first. 5 Bezel 3 Ways in PMC Class $195 Usage Fee $20 /Advanced Sat & Sun June 9 & 10 10am - 6pm both days Everyone loves a cabochon in silver. In this class you will learn to set stones with PMC that you cannot fire. Bring your own cabochons to set. (You will need 2 for the larger projects.) If you want to set cabochons in bezel cups, I will have sets that match for sale. If you want to purchase your own, make sure your bezel cups are fine silver and that your stones fit in them. If you bring your own clay be sure it is PMC 3, PMC Plus or PMC Flex only. This is an awesome class and you will love what you create. Don t forget to bring your apron, tools and lunch. Limit 4 students PMC and Sterling Silver Posts Class $90 Usage Fee $15(includes SS Posts) /Advance Sun June 3 10am - 6pm Many people really prefer post earrings to other types so here is the class for you. We will make earring fronts using traditional PMC techniques with the torch and you can explore using and making molds to create your earring faces. Please bring fast acting mold compounds and your objects to make a mold of if you d like to learn this approach. Buttons and charms also make good molds and Bird Tail Beads has some for sale. I will have several molds in class for you to use but I will not have molding compound. Please bring your clay, tools, apron and lunch. Ask for supply list. Limit 6 students PMC3 & Gold Class $90 Gold/Usage Fee $50 /Advanced Sat Jun 2 10pm - 6pm Silver & Gold what a great combination. This class will teach you how to add 22k gold slip on your unfired piece & a technique called Keum-Boo on a fired piece. This is an expensive medium, so I suggest you practice your basic skills prior to adding gold to your piece. Having said that, adding the gold to your Silver pieces is fun and not that difficult. Be sure to bring you tools, PMC3, Flex or Plus if you bring your own clay. An apron and lunch. Instructor will have additional clay for sale. Ask for supply list. Limit 4 students Beaded Wrap Bracelet Thurs Eve April 26 5pm - 9pm Thurs Eve May 31 5pm - 9pm Class $30 This is a great project! I wear my bracelets all the time and have people stopping me to look at it and ask how it s made. Everyone wants one. This evening session will get you started and will give you instructions for finishing. Materials are available at Bird Tail Beads. Ask for supply list. 6 Wire Crochet Beaded Bracelet Class $30 Thurs Eve April 5 5pm - 9pm Thurs Eve May 10 5pm - 9pm /Advance Learn to crochet this beaded cuff in an evening. If you like the "organic" look this one is for you! Ask for supply list. Limit 6 students Itty Bitty Square Box with Lid Class $45 Instructor: Pamm Horbitt Sat April 28 11:30am - 3:30pm If you like miniatures, this is for you. Using peyote, create a little box, less than an inch square, for a little present - or maybe the box is the present! This is a great project to use up those left over delicas! Project will not be finished in class (unless you are really, really fast). Prerequisite: Proficiency in circular peyote Itty Bitty Vessel with Lid Instructor: Pamm Horbitt Class $45 Level: Intermediate Fri May 4 11:30am 3:30pm If you like itty-bitty s then this is made for you. Using peyote, and a special adaptation, learn a new way to create 3 dimensional form. This little basket is less than 1 inch tall - so it s a great project for left over Delicas! The perfect gift! I dare you to make just one! Prerequisite: Proficiency in odd count peyote, circular peyote Inspirational Geometry Class $60 Instructor: Pamm Horbitt Fri June 15 & 29 11:30am - 3:30pm both days Those old Greeks knew what they were doing - or maybe not! I think Pythagoras and Plato would smile to see what their understanding of geometry has inspired in the 21st century. The magical structure of the dodecahedron allows for 5 sided beaded shapes to gain strength when stitched together. Create a magical ball by adding a bell, and lettered beads (spelling your intention) to the inside before closing the structure. Prerequisite: Must know peyote - particularly circular peyote Wire Wrap Cabochon Pendant Instructor: Lily Zamora Sun April 29 12:30pm 3:30pm Sun May 27 12:30pm 3:30pm Class $35 Sun Jun 10 12:30pm 3:30pm Learn the basics to wire-wrapping your favorite cabochon into a beautiful pendant. 7 Wire Wrap Lampwork Pendant Instructor: Sabine Escobar Class $35 Fri April 13 11am - 2:30pm Sun May 6 Fri June 8 12pm-3:30 pm 11am - 2:30pm What to do with all those beautiful focal beads? In this class, we will learn how to display your favorite lampwork bead. We will generate a simple wire-weaved lampwork bead that can be hung on your favorite chain or cord. Bring your own or purchase a Cheryl Sweeney round lampwork bead available in the store. Prerequisite: Some experience with wire Bead Emroidered Pendant Instructor: Stephanie Carlisle Sun April 8 12pm - 4pm Sat May 5 12pm - 4pm Class $40 Learn to secure a flat-backed cabochon as the centerpiece of a pendant by beading and embellishing a peyote stitch bezel. This project is a great introduction to bead embroidery, as well as an opportunity to build on basic bead weaving or embroidery skills. Bent Wire Cabochon or Bead Ring Class $40 Instructor: Consuelo Bowen Sun April 29 Sun May 27 Sun June 17 12pm - 3pm 12pm - 3pm 12pm - 3pm Everyone needs a new ring to add to their collection! This bent wire ring is a fun way to do just that. Learn how to bend and manipulate wire to form into a luscious ring to compliment your personal style. Bent Wire Prong Ring Instructor: Consuelo Bowen Class $45 Sun June 17 Sun April 15 Sun May 20 12pm - 4pm 12pm - 4pm 12pm - 4pm This bent prong ring is perfect to set your gemstone/cabochon into a beautiful setting created by you! Learn how to set a stone by bending wire into prongs and incorporating it into the ring. Ask for supply list Textured Peyote Bracelet- the basics Instructor: Ellen Perrin Class $40 /Intermediate Sat April 21 Fri May 11 Sun June 3 11am - 3pm 11am - 3pm 12pm - 4pm Beaders love texture. This bracelet, made with cylinder and seed beads, results a beautiful piece of jewelry and lots of texture. In this basic class you will learn how (or refresh your skills) to use even count, 2-drop, peyote stitch and learn how to embellish the base to add more color and texture. You will also learn how to treat and finish the edges and we will talk about various types of closures from snaps to toggles. We will discuss a variety of design options based on horizontal and diagonal rows. Pick your colors and your beads and come see how to put them together in interesting ways to create a bracelet you will love wearing and getting compliments on. 8 Animal Print/Free Form Textured Peyote Bracelet Instructor: Ellen Perrin Class $40 Sun May 20 12pm - 4pm This design takes the basics of the Textured Peyote Bracelet and shows you how to go wild with it for an interesting variation and more elaborate embellishing and edging. You should be comfortable with even count 2-drop peyote and stitch in the ditch embellishment to get the most from this class. You will not complete this project in class. Ask for a supply list Limit 6 students Textured Peyote Necklace Instructor: Ellen Perrin Class $40 Sat June 16 11am - 3pm Expand your textured peyote design repertoire to create a stunning necklace. This class will show you how to increase and decrease to create a graduated base and then finish a necklace that is both beautiful and wearable. Beyond the basics, we ll discuss more variations, edge treatments, toggles and refine our finishing techniques. You will not finish this project in class.
