Beginning Beaded Jewelry Instructor: Glorianne Ljubich $25 This is an ideal class for the beginning beader. You ll learn about various findings and beads for making your own jewelry and the different tools used for beading. Learn how to make earrings, necklaces and bracelets using wire and Soft Flex beading wire. Beginning Pearl Knotting Instructor: Melissa Gillette $25 Learn to knot beautiful necklaces reminiscent of your mother s pearl necklace. Then add a modern twist to this classic design to create a piece uniquely your own. This class will take you through the design and construction of a knotted bracelet using silk cord, freshwater pearls and semi-precious stones. Session 1: Wed., Sept. 23 Session 2: Wed., Oct. 28 Beginning Right Angle Weave Instructor: Leslie Ciechanowski $45 In this introduction to flat right angle weave, we will practice turning and changing rows while working on a right angle weave square. The structural nature of this weave allows for lots of possibilities for necklaces, bracelets and pendants. Being one of the most popular stitches, this is the ideal class to start you on the road to bead weaving. Herringbone stitch is also known as Ndebele stitch, named for the South African tribe that originated it. We ll learn how to set up various looms, how to graph out a simple pattern, how to weave on the loom and then what can be done with the piece after removing it from the loom. 4 CLASSES Spiral Rope Instructor: Tina Koyama $45 Spiral rope is an elegant, easy-to-learn stitch that can be embellished as little or as much as you like. In this class, we ll make a bracelet combining seed beads with your choice of crystals, fire polished beads, pearls or a mix of accent beads. Create your own variations with different patterns of beads. Spiral rope is an ideal introduction to seed bead weaving. Most students will finish the bracelet in class. Session 1: Saturday, September 12 Beaded Appliqué Instructor: Leslie Ciechanowski $45 This age-old technique holds infinite possibilities for using beads to embellish fabric. We ll cover the basic beaded appliqué stitch and use it to make a beaded button. We ll also discuss how the basic technique can be used with different fabrics, textures and stitches. Session 1: Saturday, October 3 Ornamental Instructor: Melissa Gillette $45 Learn how to create a fun, festive & versatile beaded ornament. Using seed beads and your choice of focal beads, we ll weave an intricate looking yet easy pattern around a holiday ornament. Decorate your home for the holidays or make a pleasant, personal and well-received gift alternative to fruit cake. Create these quick and beautiful cube beads using right angle weave. Learn how to embellish them with seed beads and how to transform them into charms or components. Besides the basic technique, we ll talk about how to use bead colors and finishes for a casual, workday, or dressy feel; how to use graphed designs; and how to embellish and finish your bracelet. Session 1: Sunday, November 8 Crystal Bling Instructor: Melissa Gillette $45 The light will seem to dance around your wrist when you wear your bracelet home. Comprised mainly of Swarovski crystals and a few seed beads, this stunning bracelet is made from a netting technique. Learn how to add a clasp, or make it into a bangle. Anyone can finish this bracelet in an afternoon, or if you re feeling ambitious, make it longer for a fabulous necklace. Session 1: Saturday, November 14. Zig-Zag Bracelet Instructor: Tina Koyama $25 Making the elegant Zig-Zag Bracelet is a fun way to learn square stitch basics as well as increasing and decreasing at the ends of rows. The pattern calls for a mix of large Delica beads, which are great to use when learning a stitch because they line up precisely and are easy to use. Session 1: Saturday, November 21

Use your choice of pearls, crystals or other small beads to embellish the bracelet. This easy, versatile beadweaving stitch works up quickly and can be applied in a variety of ways to other jewelry designs. Beautiful Bailed Bauble* Instructor: Glorianne Ljubich $25 Create a dazzling necklace using an array of crystals, pearls and seed beads of different sizes and colors. Weave a stunning 3-dimensional bail around a crystal cosmic ring and suspend it from a delicate beaded chain. You will be amazed how quickly this intricate-looking piece comes together! Courtesan Cuff* Instructor: Glorianne Ljubich $45 Imagine yourself in eighteenth century France wowing the royals with your lacey netted cuff. Create this saucy piece using both vertical and horizontal netting stitch and seed beads, crystal bicones and your choice of either buttons, drops or whatever tickles your fancy for embellishment. Simple Bling* Instructor: Pamm Horbit $25 Bring your imagination, some left over Delicas and create a very tailored ring that can be worn when you leave class! Renaissance Bracelet* Instructor: Glorianne Ljubich $45 Using seed beads of different colors and sizes, create a 3-dimensional peyote bracelet reminiscent of medieval times. Learn 2 versions of this unique piece, finished with a delicate matching toggle. We will also discuss color considerations. Great Grandmother s Ring* Instructor: Pamm Horbit $45 In Great Grandmother's day life was simple and jewelry was beautiful and meaningful. Using tube beads, seed beads and a few Swarovski crystals, you will learn how to re-create Great Grandmother's ring. Blend a rich palette of pearls, crystals and a variety of seed beads and then weave them together using flat herringbone stitch as a base. You will also learn about different types of silver, how to oxidize, work harden and polish your finished piece to best showcase the beauty of the metal; and you will get some ideas on what to do with all those scraps of silver you have laying around. In class, we will go over wire wrapping in small spaces, completely enclosing a hand shaped form in wire wrapping, and making a customized jump ring for an integrated connection between the two pendant pieces. Using a kiln, experience the wonderment of seeing the fired PMC become a solid piece of fine silver (.999). You will design charms, pendants and sliders that can be incorporated into jewelry and make several earring elements. This class will give you the technical skills to continue your adventure in creating jewelry with elements made of Precious Metal Clay. Approximate cost of materials needed: $85. Session 1: Sunday, October 18 PMC Rings* Instructor: Virginia Causey $45 Build upon your basic Precious Metal Clay skills to create your own rings in this two-day class. Setting stones and using enamels and gold leaf will enhance the surface texture of the rings. On Saturday you will learn basic and embellishment techniques, make your pieces and leave them for firing. In this class you ll create a sterling silver chainmaille bracelet filled with crystal, pearls or beads. The best part? No hidden wires! His philosophy and approach to design generally and to wire work (wire wrapping and weaving) specifically, is to take this form to a higher professional standard he refers to as Jewelry Art. DALLAS LOVETT Desert Pearl Bracelet* Instructor: Dallas Lovett $50 Create these beautiful bracelet of pearls, silver and glass. In this 3 hour class you will learn wire work and seed bead weaving with fine gauge wire. Wear one by itself or make several and stack them on your wrist. Session 1: Thursday, October 8 Fusion Bracelet* Instructor: Dallas Lovett $85 Fusion Bracelet will grace your wrist with modern style and elegance, while Swarovski Crystals and a touch of seed beads woven in unique silver hinged frames shimmer and dance upon the eyes. Session 1: Friday, October 9 10am-5pm Raindrop Earrings* Instructor: Dallas Lovett $50 Tiny Swarovski crystals are woven with fine gauge silver wire and formed into a delicate raindrop shape. Additional crystal drops hang from the earrings giving that liquid like movement. Session 1: Saturday, October 10 Atlantis Pendant* Instructor: Dallas Lovett $50 This pendant is inspired by the mythical island of Atlantis with its silver coiling mists swirling around and embracing the beaded waves and weaving crystal ripples across the water. Techniques include weaving with crystals and seed beads, tubing and coiling with wire. Session 1: Saturday, October 10 3pm-6pm Saturn Pendant* Instructor: Dallas Lovett $85 Make a bead and wire woven pendant. Weave size 11/0 seed beads on wire and wrap around a large focal bead, wrapping up the piece with an elegant pearl spray. Techniques include chain making, wire tubing and clasp making. Although Barb s specialty is wire, her unlimited passion for the medium has led her to learn many other techniques, including beadweaving, fusing and glass bead making. Barb has traveled all over the US teaching classes and bonding with people who share her passion. BARB SWITZER Wire Nautilus Pendant* Instructor: Barb Switzer $50 Spiral heavy wire into an organic nautilus shape that is inspired by nature. Embellish the finished shape with an easy weave to add texture or add beads for additional color. Fun for beginners and experienced wire workers! Session 1: Thursday, December 3 Pennyflowers* Instructor: Barb Switzer $85 A simple right angle weave box explodes into a crystal and seed bead blossom. Finished flowers can be strung into a necklace or bracelet or used a a pendant or focal element. Learn the large and small variations plus a matching loop and bead closure. Make one or a whole bouquet! Session 1: Friday, December 4 Prerequisite: Confident working with right angle weave. 10am-5pm Three Times Toggle* Instructor: Barb Switzer $85 Make an arty focal toggle that is meant to be seen, not hidden at the back. Learn how to craft a triple loop and a beautiful bar to finish a necklace or bracelet. Shaping, wrapping, weaving and tool innovations will be covered, along with variations using only wire or a mix of wire and beads. Session 1: Saturday, December 5 10am-5pm Trillium Pendant* Instructor: Barb Switzer $85 Capture and wear one of spring s most elegant flowers, the Trillium. Form an armature from a single piece of wire and finish with a no-flip bail. Working with a combination of pliers and other tools, shape a detailed structure, form a center cluster and weave in beads for color.
