1 September 2017 Newsletter s: Tel: Late Night Christmas Evening On Wednesday 8 th November the retailers at Basepoint and invited guest traders will be holding a late night Christmas shopping evening. There will be food tastings, Cakes by Helen, woolly goods from Yarnpile, fused glass from The Glass Maidens, Aloe Vera products from Forever Living, Chainmaille by Tracey Alexander, gift boxes and jewellery from CraftyJax, Cards by Primrose and Christmas decorations by Margaret. Boycey s Wood Fired Pizza Oven will also be here. We still have room for a couple more guest traders. If you feel you have something to offer (the craftier the better), and would like a table, please get in touch with us at The Bead Base or with Philip at Victoria s Deli. Retailers open on the night so far will be The Bead Base, Victoria s Deli, who will be holding tastings of some of the delicious products available, Creative Wood Flooring, Purple Stitches, Bato Baits, and Top Notch Interiors. All retailers and stall holders will be here from 6.30pm-9pm. We would like to thank The Jump Factory, McDonalds and IFLY for their donations towards our raffle which will be held on the evening. Tickets of which will be available to buy from October. All table fees and raffle money will be donated to St Michaels Hospice. School holidays We have all had a lot of fun during the school holidays teaching new techniques and meeting new people. We ve had a go at making our own wind chimes. During our Anything Goes day we had fun making goodies with buttons using a couple of different techniques, including bezelling buttons and a tied button necklace. Earrings were made using computer parts and we had an elasticated bracelet refashioned into a pendant. We also made a dreamcatcher. We have also been developing more classes for you and Holly has finally completed writing the pattern for her latest lantern. Dementia care Sandy Holmes would like us to extend her thanks to all of you who have donated beads, findings, threads, cords and other beading goodies for her Dementia clubs. She could not carry on this good work without your very kind donations and they are very much appreciated. Thank you. New stock New stock is gradually arriving after our sale and stock take. We have new colours of Candy beads and Delicas. Christmas stock is gradually finding its way into the drawers and we have a selection of wire forms for making snowflakes, bells, stars and hearts. Sterling silver Due to the fluctuations in the metals markets, sterling silver will be ordered on request. This will ensure that when you order you will be paying current market price. Basic sterling findings are usually in stock within 3 days of order.

2 Table Space From September With the end of the holidays fast approaching, our Learning Disability groups will be returning during the first week of September. We will also be welcoming back Farnborough Day Service on a Thursday morning. Tea or coffee is provided, and occasionally the odd cake or biscuit. There is a 2 fee for the evening. The dates for the next Bead and Banters are: Wednesday 27 th September 6-9pm Wednesday 25 th October 6-9pm Bulk Quantities If you wish to order beads and supplies in larger quantities, please let us know and we will do our best to work out a good deal for you. This may be a good way to save money, as buying in bulk can be less expensive than the alternative. This applies to beads, cords, findings, and much more. Saturday morning classes We are leaving Saturday mornings free (except on full day courses) should anyone want to come in and give one of our beginner techniques a try (including off loom weaving, e.g. Peyote Stitch, Brick stitch, a Simple Spiral, St Petersburg stitch, Chevron chain and more). These classes would take place at pm at a cost of 12 plus beads. If you would like to give something a try then call us and we can sort out a Saturday morning to suit you. Thursday evening classes The classes commence at 6.30pm and end at pm and will be 12 plus beads. These classes occur on Thursdays with the exception of school holiday weeks. We are leaving these classes fairly open, so if you are interested in learning a new technique, a new stitch, or just want to learn how to make a pair of earrings or to string a necklace please give us a call on or , or send us a message on Facebook to book your place. Would all class members please leave a phone number with Sue or Holly so that you may be contacted should a class be cancelled for any reason. This also applies to our daytime classes.
