1 November 2017 Newsletter Tel: News Sue and Holly are now back from their week in Cyprus. We would like to say a huge thank you to Jackie and Norma for their sterling efforts manning the shop while we were away. Special thanks to Jackie for keeping Norma under control and also to Norma for being tea lady! Late Night Christmas Evening Wednesday 8 th November is fast approaching. Retailers open on the night so far will be The Bead Base, Victoria s Deli, Creative Wood Flooring, Purple Stitches, Bato Baits, and Top Notch Interiors. There will be food tastings, cakes by Helen, woolly goods from Yarnpile, fused glass from The Glass Maidens, Aloe Vera products from Forever Living, Chrissie and Rosie s fabric goodies, chainmaille jewellery by Tracey Alexander, gift boxes and jewellery from CraftyJax, cards by Primrose and Christmas decorations by Margaret. AnneMarie will also be back with her little wood turned decorations and products. One of our learning disability groups, Plane n easy, will also be attending with some of the fantastic woodworking pieces that they make. IFly will also be there promoting their Christmas package, with every visitor going into a prize draw. There will be a raffle held in Reception, tickets of which are available now, with all proceeds going towards St. Michael s Hospice. All retailers and stall holders will be here from 5.30pm-9pm. Stall holders please be aware that you will be able to set up from 4.30pm. Come on down and maybe pick up a Christmas pressie or two. Raffle As mentioned above, we will be holding a raffle on the 8 th November. We would like to thank The Jump Factory, McDonalds, Tesco, Morrisons, Playdays, Sandy Holmes, and IFLY for their donations towards our raffle which will be held on the evening and to which all businesses and stall holders will be donating a prize. Other prizes so far include a Deli Hamper, wine, biscuits, a beginners beading kit, a sewing box and a cuddly toy dragon! Tickets for the raffle are available now at a cost of 25p per ticket or 1 per strip of 5 tickets. Tickets are available at The Bead Base, Victoria s Deli and Basepoint reception. All table fees and raffle money will be donated to St. Michael s Hospice. Christmas Party On Saturday 16 th December we will be holding our Christmas Party. This is our way of saying thank you to all our customers who have supported us throughout the year. Please pop in throughout the day and have a glass of something and a mince pie. If we ask Helen nicely there may also be cake!

2 Thread Heaven Some of you may have heard that Thread Heaven will no longer be available due to the retirement of the company that made it. We still have a few cubes in stock. Sue has found an alternative which should be finding its way onto the shelves towards the end of November. New stock We are continuing to refill the Delica stand. Seed beads and size 15º s are gradually refilling. We have had a delivery of decorate your own gift boxes, ideal for those little items of made jewellery. Bead Oracles should be back in stock next week. We have new single and double bauble hangers and some new bead storage trays. Look out for new colours of two-hole Lentils, Demi Rounds and GemDuos, ready for our December classes. Bead and Banter This is a friendly group meeting on the last Wednesday of every month, commencing at normal shop closing, where you can bring your work along, and bead and chat to like-minded enthusiasts. Tea or coffee is provided, and occasionally the odd cake or biscuit. There is a 2 fee for the evening. The dates for the next Bead and Banters are: Wednesday 29 th November 6-9pm Please note there will be no Bead and Banter in December. Delivery from point of order will usually take about three days. If you wish to order beads and supplies in larger quantities, please let us know and we will do our best to work out a good deal for you. This may be a good way to save money, as buying in bulk can be less expensive than the alternative. This applies to beads, cords, findings, and much more. Saturday morning classes We are leaving Saturday mornings free (except on full day courses) should anyone want to come in and give one of our beginner techniques a try (including Peyote Stitch, Brick stitch, St. Petersburg stitch, Chevron chain, Macramé and more). These classes would take place at pm at a cost of 12 plus beads. If you would like to give something a try then call us and we can sort out a Saturday morning to suit you.
