We love what we do and we are incredibly passionate about delivering classes that are skilled, informative and supportive within a warm friendly atmosphere. Our Founder Amanda Litster Passionate about children and adults being able to acquire traditional skills, Amanda founded KHY and Splatter Make. Her vision is to bring together a wide range of talented artists who can pass on their skills and expertise to adults and children; enabling them to have an opportunity to explore and tap into their own creative side. Our Creative Director Jane Doxey Jane started her career working in product design and development for Liberty of London and M&S. She is super talented, enthusiastic about sharing her worldly knowledge and on top of that her approach to students is infectious; they just want to learn, learn and then learn some more! 4 Featured Classes Here s a few of our popular classes, visit the website for more classes on offer Absolute Beginners Course Beginners This course is a perfect start to your sewing journey, over 5 weeks you gradually build up your skills, techniques and knowledge. Using a commercial paper pattern you will make a unisex funky apron and lovely drawstring shoe bag. All materials included. 125 Evening 5 weeks Sewing Club Improvers This class is aimed to beef up the essential skills and techniques you need to enhance your sewing experience and add a professional touch to your sewing projects. We have small classes which enables students to learn at their own pace and focus on their projects and practicing the skills. This season we will be featuring a Tunic Dress and Your First Skirt. 125 Day or Evening 5 weeks 4 KNOW HOW YOU Pattern Cutting Intermediate Do you want to understand how to create a better more professional fit that works with your own body shape? This is for confident dressmakers who have completed a good number of dressmaking projects and have a good knowledge base of the essential skills and techniques. Evening 5 weeks 125 (half a block) 10 week 200 (full block)

5 Featured Workshops We understand that not everyone can commit to a regular course so we offer a variety of half and one day workshops. Absolute Beginners Beginners Don t worry if you have never used a sewing machine as we start from ground zero. We take you calmly through all the steps to get you confidently sewing for the first time or back on track again. You make a drawstring toiletry bag and a cushion. 4 February & 18 March 65 His/Hers Unisex Apron Improvers Throughout the day you will build up your sewing skills and also your confidence as you learn the essentials to get you sewing confidently. We introduce you to reading and understanding patterns, pinning to fabrics, cutting out and essential markings. Along the way you will learn lots of top tips and techniques to encourage you to keep sewing. 11 February Perfect for a Valentines Gift 65 Cushions & Trimmings Improvers Everybody loves cushions & often not the prices of them! Here is your chance to learn everything you need to know to make them affordable and exactly to your design. You will be learning about zips/buttonholes and making your own patterns and inserting trimmings. 5 November, 25 March 65 Zip Master Class Improvers/Intermediate There is no doubt patience and practise is needed to gain the skills required to sew a perfect zip. 6 Makers and Craft Workshops We are excited to be joined at our studio by talented artists who can bring something different to our customers. Keep an eye on our Facebook and website for new additional courses and workshops, including felting, macramé and other traditional crafts. Create Your Own Print Design Join textile artist Anna Jackson from Black Cactus to design and print your own ideas using Lino Block and Fabric Foiling. Learn the skill of how to bring to life your fabrics and go on to make beautiful accessories, t-shirts, hand printed cushions and lots of other creative projects at home. Sunday 19 November Lino Print Christmas Napkins morning 45 Fabric Foil Printing afternoon 45 The Art of Decoupage Join mixed media artist Gabriela Szulman, South London artist and maker who works in collage and decoupage and is an avid up-cycler, passionate about colour and creativity. Join us to bring to life a pair of your shoes or make a statement piece in glass. Sunday 26 November Decoupage on Glass morning 50 Decoupage on Shoes afternoon 50 Creative Paper Cutting & Origami Workshops Join paper cutting artist Kip Perdue of Kartegraphik for an Introduction to Paper Cutting. Focus on shapes, advanced approaches for using a scalpel and construct designs that work. Through Origami learn the art of folding paper creating two types of flower masterpieces.
