5 Intrductin: The fwing reprt pertains t grund magnetic, VLF-EM, and Max-Min II data cected by Westmin Resurces Limited n nine caims f the Suth Detur Prject in the Lwer Detur Lake Area (Map Sheet M2603) in the Prcupine Mining District. In September f 1988, nine caims were staked t tie nt ne f Westrnin's existing caim bcks. A picket ine, grid was cut n the prperty in January-February, Eectrmagnetic and magnetmeter surveys were carried ut within three weeks f the cmpetin f the cut grid. Prperty, Lcatin and Access; (Figures and 2, Tabe 1) The Suth Detur Lake prperty f Westmin Resurces is cated 130km NNE f Cchrane, ntari and 5km suth f the Detur Lake Gd Mine. Access is avaiabe a year by fixed wing aircraft, and during the winter, by vehice ang the winter rad. The Detur Lake Mine is accessibe by an a-weather rad frm Cchrane, ntari.

7 Grid Detais, Instrument and Survey Specificatins; A cut ine grid was estabished with ines spaced every 100m ang an east-west baseine and pickets every 25m ang the nrth-suth crss ines. A ta f 15.5 kimetres was cut. The eectrmagnetic survey used a hriznta p instrument, manufactured by Apex Parametrics (Max-Min II). The ci separatin was 150m with readings taken, every 25m using frequencies 222Hz and 3555 Hz. A Genics EM-16 VLF utiizing the Seatte, Washingtn transmitting statin was used in the VLF survey. An EDA MNI IV tta fied/base magnetmeter unit was perated t cect the fied data and anther EDA MNI IV tta fied/base magnetmeter unit was used t crrect the fied data in accrdance with the daiy diurna variatin. Accuracy f this magnetics survey is ± 5nt. As we, a tta fied vaue was determined thrugh tie-in readings at catins previusy surveyed. The resuting difference was integrated int the fied crrectins. The magnetmeter and eectr-magnetic surveys cvered apprximatey 13.8 kimetres.

8 Resuts and Interpretatin; The Max-Min II data (Maps and 2) has been reviewed (Appendix 1) by J. Betz, cnsuting gephysicist wh cncuded there are prbabe t definite bedrck cnductrs (znes f graphite and/r massive suphides) which appear t frm a tight fd in the nrthwestern part f the prperty, as we as a brad cnductive area. The brad anmaus zne is due t a cmbinatin f thickened verburden and a bedrck unit which 'is ess resistive, resuting in greater differentia ersin, and cnsequenty, thicker verburden. The magnetic data is dispayed n maps (3 and 4). The cnturs indicate a weak magnetic anmay striking nrthwest-sutheast ang the suthern part f the grid ( gammas). The suthwest imits f the grid appear t brder an area f higher magnetic respnse nt cvered by this survey. The backgrund fied reading fr this area is apprximatey gammas. The VLF prfie map (Map 5) suggests there are tw weak shrt strike ength cnductrs trending nrthwest - sutheast n ines 4+W t 1+W at apprximatey 26+N and n ines 700W t 1100W at 2800N. As we as the VLF prfie map, a fraser fiter cntur map (Map 6) accmpanies this reprt. Cncusin: The nine caims cvered in this reprt were staked September 14, During January and February f 1989, a cut grid was estabished and Mag, VLF and Max-Min Surveys cnducted ver it. 9 J. Appendix Cmments n the MaxMin Resuts n the Added Caims f the Suth Detur Prperty The cnductr picture n the prperty is smewhat cmpex as can be seen n the attached pan. There are definite and prbabe bedrck cnductrs, e.g. znes f graphite and/r massive suphides which appear t frm a tight fd in the nrthwestern part f the prperty. There is as a cnductive regin in the nrthwestern sectin, but the data is insufficient t anayse this regin fuy. It is suspected, hwever that the - brad anmaus cnditin is due t a cmbinatin f thickened verburden and a bedrck unit which is a itte ess resistive bth eectricay and physicchemicay than the neighburing units. The physicchemica weakness in this unit has ed t greater differentia ersin, which in turn has ed t a thicker verburden. Certainy, the bedrck cnductr picture in the nrthwest part f the prperty cud be ceared up cnsideraby by using a smaer ci separatin and by adding additina ines in bth the nrth-suth and east-west directin. T achieve this, the prperty bundary wud have t be expanded r at east sme f the ines extended past the present bundary. The recmmended cverage is shwn n the attached pan.
