2 SUMMARY A helicpter-brne cmbined EM and Magnetmeter survey was cnducted n behalf f Cnslidated Prfessr Mines Limited n Shal Lake. Mst f the area f the survey lies under the lake. The survey was cnducted t aid in the further develpment f the area in which ur clients are currently develpping a gld mine. Several EM anmalies were fund. These shuld be investigated.

3 INTRDUCTIN A helicpter-brne cmbined EM and Magnetmeter survey was cnducted n the prperty f Cnslidated Prfessr Mines Limited n Shal Lake. District f Kenra, ntari. Mst f the surveyed area lies under Shal Lake. It was the purpse f the survey t lcate sulphide cnductrs under the lake r in the area f the islands and t gain gelgical and structural infrmatin frm bth the magnetmeter and electrmagnetic survey. ACCESS & TPGRAPHY The area lies t the suth f the Twn f Kenra in Western ntari and can be reached frm there by bush rad and by winter rad acrss Shal Lake. GELGY The gelgy f the area is described n the Nrth Shal Lake Area (East Sheet) Map f the ntari Department f Mines. The area is part f the Superir Prvince f the Canadian Shield and is underlain by mafic intrusive rcks and by metavlcanics. Because much f the survey was flwn ver the lake, gelgical infrmatin is nt cntinuus and it might well be that the rcks which utcrp in the islands are nt representative fr the lake bttm. Gld was discvered t the nrtheast f the area at Bag Bay as early as 1893 and sme gld prductin has cme frm this area. Cnslidated Prfessr Mines Ltd. has \ been successful in develpping a gld depsit in the area and is actively explring this depsit.

4 Ill It was the purpse f the survey t help in this explratin and in prviding infrmatin cncerning sulphide depsits and cncerning the distributin f basic rcks in the area.

5 IV INSTRUMENTS A) EM Instrumentatin - The instruments used fr the gephysical survey are described n the enclsed data sheet included with this reprt. The survey was cnducted with a Bell 47G 3-B2 helicpter, wned and perated by Sander Gephysics Limited. The electrmagnetic system cnsists f tw c-axial cils munted n either side f the 'Bird at a separatin f 23 ft. frm each ther. The axis f the cil system mves in the directin f flight. The system wrks n a frequency f l& Hz and measures the in-phase and ut-f-phase^respnse f cnductrs belw the survey system. The system is calibrated in parts per millin f the primary field present at the lcatin f the receiving cil. B) Magnetmeter Survey - The magnetic data were btained with a.sander NPM-4 Nuclear Precessin Magnetmeter recrding the ttal magnetic field. The magnetmeter has an accuracy and reslutin f apprximately 1 gamma.

6 TECHNICAL DATA Lines were flwn almst in the east-west directin at X. " ~ """ a spacing f 1/8 f a mile. Navigatin was accmplished by y fllwing aerial phtgraphy. Flight elevatin was 120 ft. " "^ nminally. Since mst f the area lies tinder the water f Shal Lake, it was pssible t keep the flight elevatin very cnstant and quite lw. RESULTS The results f the survey are shwn n tw maps designated as EM Anmaly Map and Ttal Magnetic Intensity map. Because f its relatinship t the gelgy, the magnetic map will be discussed first. Magnetic anmalies are seen t trend thrugh the area in the nrtheastern directin and these magnetic anmalies might either reflect basic intrusive rcks r irn frmatin. irregularly shaped bdy which has all the appearances f a basic intrusive is fund t the nrthwest f Stevens Island while a linear trend fllws the nrtheast shre f Shal Lake where this shre frms the bundary f the surveyed area. Bth magnetic trends cincide with electrmagnetic anmalies. These anmalies shw generally a phase relatinship in which the in-phase prtin is apprximately equivalent t the ut-f- phase respnse. depsits. Such phase relatinship is cmmn in sulphide It seems likely that these anmalies are due t sulphide znes in the area f high cncentratin f magnetite. Tw ther electrmagnetic trends are shwn in the suthwestern and in the nrtheastern prtin f the surveyed area. An Bth lie

7 VI t the west f the base line and the anmalies are nt particularly cnfirmed by the magnetic trend. These anmalies might be related t sulphide depsits r graphite znes. Because f the imprtance f sulphides in the area, they shuld be made the subject f an investigatin.
