The purpse f the survey was t detect bedrck znes f electrical cnductivity which might be depsits f base metal sulphides. LOCATION AND ACCESSIBILITY f The prperty is lcated in Blakelck Twnship, 50 miles nrth' cf Cchrane, Ontari and is accessible frm there by flat- r ski-equipped aircraft. PREVIOUS WORK T the best f the writer's knwledge, n previus surveys r diamnd drilling have been perfrmed n the prperty. An airbrne electrmagnetic survey by this cmpany in 1974 prmpted the present grund electrmagnetic survey. SURVEY METHODS Baselines were cut parallel t the strike f the frmatins. At 100 meter intervals, picket lines were cut at right angles t the baselines. The MAXMIN II instrument was used in the hrizntal lp mde with a 200 meter separatin between the transmitting and receiving cils. Readings were taken at 50 meter intervals alng the lines, except that in anmalus areas the readings were taken every 25 meters. The instrument is capable f perating n fur different frequencies f which 888 Hz and 444 Hz were used. In this type f survey, bth the in-phase and ut-f-phase cmpnents f the secndary field are measured and are recrded as percentages f the primary field. The readings fr bth cm pnents are pltted alng the survey lines shwn n the accmpanying maps, and prfiles are drawn....2

2 - 2 - A cnductr will prduce a curve in bth prfiles which ges frm psitive thrugh zer t negative and back t psitive again. The rati between the amplitudes f the negative parts f the curves fr the tw cmpnents is a measure f the cnductivity. A gd cnductr, such as a pyritic sulphide bdy, will cause a greater amplitude in the in-phase prfile than the ut-f-phase prfile. The ppsite is true fr a pr cnductr. RESULTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS 6.30 km f MAXMIN II survey were cmpleted. The results f the survey, in the frm f readings and prfiles, are shwn n the accmpanying drawings N and at a scale f ne centimeter equals 50 meters. One anmaly was utlined in the western part f the prperty. The in-phase readings are f mderate amplitude and the rati f in-phase t ut-f-phase readings is apprximately ne indicating fair cnductivity. The anmaly still exists n the lwer frequency, althugh it is slightly weaker, s the anmaly is interpreted as being a bedrck cnductr. Diamnd drilling is recmmended t investigate the cause f the electrical cnductivity.
