3 Intrductin This reprt describes a prgram f inecutting and gephysics cnducted n Caims , and , which are hed by Nranda Inc. (3296 Francis-Hughes Avenue, Lava, Quebec, H7L 5A7; phne (450) )). The caims are cated 30 km east f Mathesn, and access is prvided by Highway 101, which cuts the suthern part f the caims. Caim detais are prvided bew and are shwn n Figure 1, which as shws the grid catin. This reprt was prduced between December 20 and December 22, The bjective was t investigate MegaTEM cnductrs reveaed by the 2003 Discver Abitibi MegaTEM prgram. Previus Wrk Histrica wrk reating t gd mineraizatin dates back t 1900 and by the 1950's, additina effrts were directed twards discvery f asbests depsits. Michaud twnship was systematicay mapped by J. Sattery in 1946 (ODM Map ). The area f the prperty was shwn t be underain by mafic vcanic rcks, athugh verburden cver was extensive. The area suth and east f the MegaTEM cnductrs was the subject f a brief mapping prgram fr AMAX: in 1979 (Wiimasn, 1979). Basat and diabase utcrps were described, athugh mst f the prperty was cvered by thick verburden. Mag, VLF and HLEM surveys were cnducted n a arge grid by Gden Range Resurces in 1984 (Tittey, 1984). The grid encmpassed sme f the present prperty and the bjective f the prgram was t find gd depsits n spays f the Destr - Prcupine Faut system. Tw drihes were cmpeted n gd targets by Nranda in June, 1986 (AFRI 42A09SE0322). GR was cared n the present prperty and ended in a zne f sheared, carbnatized andesite with quartz-pyrite veins. 13 f 14 sampes returned backgrund vaues, with the ther sampe returning 0.2 g/t Au. Traces f sphaerite were nted in a quartz dirite intrusin. Anther mapping prgram was undertaken by Nranda n behaf f Gden Range Resurces (Dunbar, 1986) in Juy, The nrth imit f this mapping was -150 m suth f the MegaTEM cnductrs which are the fcus f the current prgram. Gabbr was described suth f the present prperty. Fur drihes were cmpeted by Gden Range Resurces in June f 1988 (AFRI 42A09SE0301). Tw f these (GRM-88-03, GRM-88-04) were n the suth end f the present prperty and bth intersected pyrite and pyrrhtite in graphitic intervas within mafic vcanic sequences. N basemetas were nted and n anmaus gd cncentratins were returned. The prperty was incuded in the Discver Abitibi MegaTEM prgram in Wrk Prgram Linecutting was cnducted by Services Expratin f Ruyn, Quebec, between Octber 12 and Octber 19, The grid catin is shwn in Figure 1. GPS readings were taken n the baseine after it was cut t psitin it prperty.

5 A tta fied magnetics survey was run by Services Expratin f Ruyn, Quebec immediatey after the grid was cmpeted. The magnetmer was a GSM-19 "Overhauser"-type mag and data was crrected fr drift with an autmatic recrding base statin. Descriptin and specificatins f the mag are prvided in Appendix 3. Psted data is shwn n Figure 2 and cured magnetics are shwn n Figure 3. Tta magnetic reief is abut 900 nt. A mag high ccurs n the mst eastern and western ines at abut 300 m nrth f the baseine. It is strngest n Line 0+OOE, where it is abut 300 nt abve backgrund. A grund TDEM survey was run n 7 ines by Quantech, f Timmins, Ontari between Nvember 23 and Nvember 25, Instrument specificatins, gistics reprt and a cmpete set f prfies are prvided in Appendix 4. Data is as presented as psted channe 10-"X" cmpnent n Figure 4, and as a series f cured maps f varius times n Figure 5. The strngest respnse is n Line 2E, where a brad and reativey weak "X" cmpnent respnse is present in the eary channes but decays rapidy and migrates nrthward away frm the p edge. This, and ack f a dear "Z" cmpnent crssver suggests the respnse is due t a brad zne f w cnductivity, pssiby reated t verburden which is suspected t be deep in this area. Cncusins and Recmmendatins The TDEM survey did nt revea a discrete strng cnductr suggestive f suphide mineraizatin. Nr des the weak, brad TDEM respnse have a cear magnetic crreatin. N dri target is apparent frm these resuts s n additina wrk fr VMS-stye mineraizatin is warrranted at this time.

These incude sensitivity, resutin, absute accuracy, samping rates and gradient terance. cnsidering factrs invved in determining the fied vaue and their accuracy, incuding the gyrmagnetic cnstant, maximum ffset f the time base frequency, etc. With an absute accuracy f +I- 0.1 nt, the GSM-19 is idea fr tta fied wrk and gradient measurements maintain the same high standard f quaity. Samping rates are defined as the fastest speed at which the system can acquire data. This is a particuary imprtant parameter because high samping rates ensure accurate spatia resutin f anmaies and increase survey efficiency. This refects enhancements such as memry capacity; ight weight; GPS and navigatin; n warm-up time; n dead znes r heading errrs; and dumping and prcessing. Memry capacity cntrs the efficient daiy acquisitin f data, acquisitin f psitining resuts frm GPS. and the abiity t acquire high vumes f data t meet daiy survey bjectives. V6.0 upgrades have estabished the GSM-19 as the cmmercia standard fr memry with ver 262,000 readings (based n a basic cnfiguratin f 4 Mbytes f memry and a survey with time, crdinate, and fied vaues). Optina increments up t 32 Mbytes increase memry t ver 2 miin readings - making the GSM-19 an idea system fr acquisitin f data with integrated GPS readings (when required). Prtabiity characteristics (ruggedness, ight weight and pwer cnsumptin) are essentia fr peratr prductivity in bth nrma and extreme fied cnditins, GEM's Overhauser magnetmeter is estabished gbay as a rbust scientific instrument capabe f withstanding temperature, humidity and terrain extremes. In cmparisn with prtn precessin and pticay pumped cesium systems, the GSM-19 system is the chice f peratrs as an easy-t-use and rbust system. Other enhancements incude way pint pre-prgramming f up t 1000 pints. Prfessinas can nw define a cmpete survey n their PC and dwnad pints t the magnetmeter via RS-232 cnnectin - befre eaving fr the fied. The peratr then simpy perfrms the survey using the way pints as their survey guide. This capabiity decreases survey errrs, imprves efficiency, and ensures mre rapid survey cmpetin. Dumping and prcessing effectiveness is as a critica cnsideratin tday. Histricay, up t 60"7 f an peratr's "free" time can be spent n w-return tasks, such as data dumping. Data dumping times are nw significanty reduced thrugh GEM's impementatin f high-speed, digita data inks (up t 115 kbaud). This functinaity is faciitated thrugh a new RISC prcessr as we as GEM's prprietary GEMLinkW acquisitin t dispay sftware. This sftware serves as a bi-directina RS-232 termina. It as has integrated prcessing functinaity t streamine key prcessing steps, incuding diurna data reductin. GEMLinkW is prvided free t a GSM-19 custmers and reguar updates are avaiabe- Lane Guidance The figure a. Grid (UTM, Lca Grid, and Rtated Grid). With the Rtated Grid, yu can appy an arbitrary rigin f yur wn definitin. Then, the crdinates are aways in reference t axes parae t the grid. In shrt, yur grid determines the map, and nt the NS directin. GEM's apprach with ptins is t prvide yu with an expandabe set f buiding bcks: Gradimeter Waking Magnetmeter Gradimeter Fast Magnetmeter Gradimeter VLF (3 channe) GPS (buit-in r externa) GSM-19G Gradimeter Optin The GSM-19 gradimeter is a versatie. entry eve system that can be upgraded t a fu-featured "Waking" unit (mde GSM-19WG) in future. The GSM-19G cnfiguratin cmprises tw sensrs and a "Standard" cnse that reads data t a maximum f 1 reading every three secnds. An imprtant GEM design featu. its gradimeter sensrs measure the tw magnetic fieds cncurrenty t avid any tempra variatins that cud distrt gradimeter readings. Other features, such as singe-buttn data recrding, are incuded fr peratr ease-f-use. GSM-19W/WG "Waking- Magnetmeter Gradimeter Optin GEM Systems pineered the innvative "Waking" ptin that enabes the acquisitin f neary cntinuus data n survey ines. Since its intrductin, the GSM-19W GSM-19WG have becme ne f the mst ppuar magnetic instruments in the wrd. Simiar t an airbrne survey in principe, the system recrds data at discrete time intervas (up t 2 readings per secnd) as the instrument is carried ang the ine. At each survey picket (fiducia), the peratr tuches a designated key. The system autmaticay assigns a picket crdinate t the reading and ineary interpates the crdinates f a intervening readings (fwing survey cmpetin during pst-prcessing). A main benefit is that the high sampe density imprves definitin f gegic structures and ther targets (UXO, archegica reics, drums, etc.). It as increases survey efficiency because the peratr can recrd data amst cntinuusy. Anther prductivity feature is the instantaneus recrding f data at pickets. This is a basic difference between the "Waking" versin and the GSM-19 GSM-19G (the "Standard" mde versin which requires 3 secnds t btain a reading each time the measurement key is pressed). GSM-19F i FG "Fast" Magnetmeter/ Gradimeter Optin The "Fast" versin reads up t 5 readings per secnd. (Sensrs and cnse are the same as ther mdes.) This system is idea fr vehice-brne surveys, such as UXO, archegica r sme minera expratin appicatins, where very high prductivity is required. GSM-19 "Hands-Free" Backpack Optin ~he "Waking" Magnetmeter and Gradimeter can be cnfigured with an ptina backpack-supprted sensr. The backpack is uniquey cnstructed permitting measurement f tta fied r gradient with bth hands free. This ptin prvides greater versatiity and fexibiity, which is particuary vauabe fr high-prductivity surveys r in rugh terrain. GSM-19M GV "VLF" Optin With GEM's mnidirectina VLF ptin, up t 3 statins f VLF data can be acquired withut rienting.
