2 Student respnsibilities with regard t exams and candidacy requirements 2nd Year Presentatin Respnsiblities. nte: it is yur respnsibility t schedule practice talks fr 2nd year talks utside f nrmal grup meeting hurs. If yur dcument cntains unpublished material, the dcument will be prf-read fr scientific cntent as well as grammatical. If yu are first authr n a paper, that material can be mdified t include in yur dcument. If yu are a cauthr, prtins f the paper can be included in yur dcument. If yur grammar/english is nt gd, please plan t utilize the campus writing services well in advance.

3 Data Strage/Cmputers Cmputers. If yu need help with the desk cmputer yu are assigned r a general cmputer prblem with the lab cmputers r the COMSOL server, first cnsult the grup adminstratr. If this des nt result in an answer then ITG can be cnsulted, but nly with apprval. D nt make requests t ITG individually withut prir apprval. Yu are respnsible fr backing up and string yur wn data files, and keeping yur CPU within University regulatins. Failure t d this will result in lss f access. Data Strage. A netwrk drive n the server is assigned fr data strage. Yu can stre cpies f individual data files here (please n persnal files, pictures, music, there is nt enugh space fr this) and they are autmatically backed up n anther server n campus. T access this drive yu need t map the drive n yur cmputer (if yu are ff campus yu need t be cnnected via vpn n yur ADS accunt t d this). It is highly suggested that yu back up yur data t this flder. A prgram such as Synchrnize It! can be used t d s. Orders Majrity f cmmnly used chemicals and lab supplies can be fund in chemistry stckrm r bilgy stckrm (JH A003).Yu need a valid accunt number t purchase, cash is nt accepted. A list f valid accunt numbers is psted n tp wall f public lab wrking bench area. T rder supplies frm utside campus, an rder frm is required t be filled. List f rder frms can be fund n cmsl server under Order Frms. Please fill ut valid accunt numbers and requested infrmatin and then print tw cpies (punched). One cpy needs t be signed by bss and send dwnstairs t Susie, anther cpy needs t be kept in binder fr future recrd. It is a grup f papers that cllected ver the years n a number f subjects f interest t the research we pursue. If yu wuld like t add papers t this master file, please d, but please try t fllw the general naming cnventin used.

4 Lab Hygiene It is everyne in labs respnsibility t maintain gd labratry cleanliness. Trash, used slutins, general messiness shuld be rectified befre yu finish the experiment yu are ding. There is n excuse fr leaving a general use areas in disarray. Als, d nt hard equipment that the entire grup uses fr yurself. If yu need specific equipment r want a specific item fr yur exclusive use, rder it. Equipment The fllwing peple are respnsible fr equipment and upkeep/maintenance. The persn listed is the "czar" f that instrument, meaning - within reasn - the czar has respnsibility and say ver use f said instrument. This shuld nt be abused.
