Why not finish off a project or start a new one. There are no Tutors at these sessions but we will always try to help where we can. 3 Your Sewing Time with Alison 12-3pm 2 nd Monday each Month Starts 8 th January 2018 Monthly Workshops/Classes You provide the pattern, fabric and other bits & bobs required and Alison will provide the advice, guidance & tools. Together you will work on your very own project of choice. You may have already started a project and have found yourself a bit stuck or you just need that extra bit of motivation to finish a pile of UFOs (Unfinished Objects). Come along and get the help & advice you need. Please get in touch to discuss your project in advance. This workshop is for dressmaking projects (clothes) only but can be for menswear, ladies or children s wear. Bev will take you through each section month by month developing your skills with this fabulous Quilt as You Go project. It will take approximately 7 months to complete. Introduction to Crochet with Jill (Inc. Hook & Kit, Coffee/Tea and Cake)! Dates: 1st Wednesday each month 6pm 8.00pm Starts February Always wanted to learn to crochet? Then come along each month with our lovely Tutor Jill. Starting from the beginning learn how to hold the hook and yarn, how to crochet basic stitches, and understand patterns and move into things such as the Mug Holder. You will learn all the skills to make clothes, in your style, your colours and your fab fabric that fits you effortlessly. Nothing beats the feeling of being complimented on something you re wearing and being able to say I made this!

8 5 sessions comprise of: Creating a garment of your choice, each session will cover different skills and techniques. Session 1 Measuring yourself correctly and selecting the right size for you on your pattern Reading and understanding the pattern How to pick the right fabric for your project Cutting out your pattern ready for session two Learning how to sew and finish different types of seams Session 2 Lay planning - how to arrange your pattern to cut your fabric correctly Pining and cutting out your fabric Transferring pattern markings to your fabric Making a start on your dress Sessions 3 & 4 Garment construction - aka making your dress Understanding the importance of interfacing, stay stitching, pressing and understitching Making minor adjustments to the fit as required Learning zip techniques & sample - how to insert 2 different types of zip Session 5 Learning hemming techniques & samples Hemming your garment Finishing off your garment including hand finishing techniques Alison will be there every step of the way, sharing the wealth of her experience, demonstrating techniques and encouraging you along your sewing journey. This class is for people who already know how to use a sewing machine in a basic way. You should be able to thread up the machine, and sew in a straight-ish line! Don't worry about anything beyond this as you will be shown all the techniques needed for dressmaking. Please note there will be a maximum of 6 learners on this course to ensure that everyone has enough time to get hands on support.

With expert guidance from experienced from Jill. During this workshop, you will be shown how to crochet Amigurumi, including how to read patterns and how to crochet the related stitches which are used in these projects. It will be easier for you if you already possess basic crochet skills. Before you enter any of our Project based workshops we strongly recommend that you go for a beginner s class. All materials and tools will be provided, so just relax, pop in and craft!

Another chilling Sunday sewing with Rosemary on this weekend workshop to create this unique design. MEE Time for Machine Embroidery Enthusiasts Coming to Oh Sew Sweet in January 2018 a NEW Group for Machine Embroidery Enthusiasts called MEE Time. You can join our closed group on Facebook or attend one of our session, everyone is welcome...no Tutor but lots of lovely, friendly people to help you. A group of people who love Machine Embroidery, from Newbies to Experienced users, all are welcome. We will begin to stock ME Designs from Kimberbell, Hoop Sisters, Fabric Confetti and many more. Blocks of the month and individual projects in class or on a retreat. For more information ask in the shop.

Please check beforehand for a full list of requirement s per class Some equipment is available within classes such as rotary cutters and mats, however there is often not enough to go around a full class so you will therefore be required to share. We like to encourage you to bring your own machine but please ensure it is in full working order.
