6 Sewing Classes with Jean Walker Custom Ironing Board Cover... Does your ironing board cover look like this? Sewing level: Beginner, 16 and older. Must know how to sew a straight seam, thread a needle, and know right side of fabric from wrong side. You can bring your own machine or use one of ours. Description of Class: Come to class and make a new one out of a pretty fabric that you like and will make ironing/pressing fun! It s not as hard as you think and will make your sewing area look so much better! Cost: $5 +materials Date: Thursday, April 20 Time: 6:30-8:00 pm Come Sew with Jean Would you like to dedicate some time to sew with no one to bother you? Come Sew with Jean and have companionship, conversation, and cookies. You can sew whatever you want and get some help if you are stuck. Bring your project and tools. Have you had your machine for years and just need a refresher? In a 2 hour class you'll learn your sewing machine inside and out: Explore its basic operation, how to choose the right accessories for essential sewing techniques, as well as maintenance you should perform at home to keep your machine running optimally. 8 Embroidery Classes with Arlene Birdeau Patch Work Tote This is not your Grandma's quilted tote. These designs offer a mix and match style that allows you to use a variety of fabrics and colors to create your own patchwork fabric. Once your fabric is created add a lining, pockets and handle to finish this stylish Patchwork Tote! (Will be some sewing in this project.) Class Length: 4 hours Class : $30 Day 1: Friday April 7, 10:00 to 2:00 Day 2: Friday April 21, 1:00 to 5:00 Or: By Appointment 6 fat quarters of coordinating fabrics (cut 5 ½ x 8 inch, 2 from each fat quarter, bring what is left for the crazy block and strip block.) ½ yard for lining (or 2 fat quarters) ½ yard for pocket and handles (cut one 16 inch square, two 4 x 28 inch strips) 1 yard muslin for base (need 16 pieces cut 8 x 12 inches) 4 to 8 spools of embroidery thread matching & contrasting Will need at least 5" x 17" hoop (or you can request a store machines, call ahead) Cross Body Purse A unique cross body bag that has 2 zippered pockets. Each pocket is fully lined and separate from the other. There are no exposed seams inside and there are made "in the hoop". Optional, large pocket on the back. The bag is made completely in the hoop, and handles made with sewing machine. 9 Will need at least 7" x 12" hoop (or you can request a store machines, call ahead) Sun Catcher - Hummingbird The hummingbird is very easy to make, you will sandwich clear vinyl in between two layers of organza. The design catches light just the way stained glass does, people won't believe that they are created with thread. Once the design is finished stitching, you simply need to add a suction cup with a hook and hang them in your window. Class Length: 3 hours Class : $25 Date: By Appointment Time:By Appointment 1 spool of BLACK embroidery thread Fabric provided Will need at least 6" x 6" hoop or 6" x 10" (or you can request a store machines, call ahead) Blackboard Zipper Bag This is all done in the embroidery hoop. It showcaseshanddrawn Designs. Each student can pick their own design to put on their bag. You will learn how to make the bag and how to put a in a zipper in one hooping. Class and Kit: $30.00 Date: April 21 Time: 10:00 to 12:00 You will need to purchase one spool of white embroidery thread Will need at least 8" x 12" hoop (or you can request a store machines, call ahead) The Great Outdoors Three Class Series: In the first class make 3 complete appliqué quilt blocks in hoop (stippling, appliqué, squaring). Take a second class to make 3 more complete blocks. In the third class put it all together on the backing to make the complete wall hanging. Class and Kit: $105 total 9

Farm Girl Vintage Blocks By Lori Holt The Farm Girl Vintage Quilt Block of the Month is from Lori Holt of Bee in my Bonnet and features 48 differnt blocks of 6" square. With these blockst you can create: potholders, table runners, county fair quilt setting, quilty barn quilt, silo barn quilt and many more ideas. Sewing level:had Beginner 1 class or have made quilts on their own. Can rotary cut a straight edge, cut strips to the right size, sew a straight 1/4 seam, and press seams correctly. May use machine from store or bring your own sewing machine. 12 Beginning Quilting 1, How to Cut & Make Blocks - Class with Jean Sewing level: Beginner 1A--16 and older. Must know how to sew a straight seam, thread a needle, and know right side of fabric from wrong side. No machine necessary. May bring your own tools but not necessary. Description of Class: I have broken my beginning quilting into 2 parts. Part one is making blocks with squares and rectangles. 4 blocks will be made and then you will have a choice of what to make with them. You will learn how to rotary cut, sew a 1/4 seam, pressing, and other quilting skills. Please call for more information. Class Cost: $35.00 (or 2 Friends for $60.00) Date & Time: By Appointment Beginning Quilting 2, Quilting with Triangles - Class with Jean Sewing level: Had Beginner 1 class or have made quilts on their own. Description of class: This class will cover blocks made with triangles and 4 different ways to make accurate 1/2 square triangle blocks so everything goes together easily. Class Cost: $35.00 (or 2 Friends for $60.00) Date & Time: By Appointment Beginning Long Arm Quilting Class Come and learn how to use the Handi-Quilter Avante, Simple-sixteen and/or the sit-down Sweet sixteen. You will Learn how to load your quilt, thread the machine, adjust tension, and begin to quilt your quilt with basic free-motion quilting. At a time of your choice you will be able to practice on a small quilt with someone nearby if you need help. Try out the long-arm quilting machine so you can finish your own quilts!
