The PBC RESx Pins have been renamed t GPIOx Pins GPIOx Features: Old GPIO (RESx) Settings n lnger supprted. GPIOs must be recnfigured. The Service Sftware nw shws the current input state f each GPIOx pin. New feature: PwerSt 0A. This feature can be used t set the utput current t 0A fr a shrt time. May be helpful during measurement cycles. Encder: A rtary encder can nw be used t change the CHx Target Temperature New feature: The Level Assignment (psitive r negative lgic) and the Hardware Cnfiguratin can nw be individually set fr each GPIO. New Channel setting: the TEC Cntrller channel fr which the chsen GPIO Functin is active can nw be selected separately. The Functin is set independently frm the Channel. OLED Display Features Fan Features: Old Display Settings n lnger supprted. Display Settings must be recnfigured. Display can nw shw fully user-cnfigurable text. Added new fan start and stp speed parameters which can be used t implement a hysteresis fr the fan Channel 2 temperatures can nw be used fr channel 1 fan and vice versa. 2 Reslved Issues Lkup Table The PBC RESx functin CH1 Lkup Start des nt wrk prperly if the table ends befre the signal itself ges back t lw. It is then nt pssible t re-start a table, because the clear signal is nt being cleared. This is imprtant if a switch instead f a buttn is used. Fixed by clearing the clear signal if the table has already stpped. The LIN_RAMP_TIME des nt wrk prperly if the Enable mde is set t Static ON. The ramp already starts when the lkup table is being started instead when this cmmand is being reached. Fixed by adjusting the interactin between the table executer and the ramp generatin. If the table executin is being cancelled during LIN_RAMP_TIME, then the switchback t the flash target temperature is nt dne. Fixed by changing back t the flash target temperature at table stp. The minimum time fr LIN_RAMP_TIME is 100ms. Changed t 10ms, because f the new 80/90Hz mde. Between tw cmmands is always an empty cycle, because the ld cmmand has finished and the new ne is nt yet laded. Fixed by executing the table interpreter again if the previus cmmand has already finished. A side effect f this is that cmmands which d nt have a duratin t execute, are nw executed much faster. Fr example, several SET_INT in a rw, are nw being executed with full prcessr speed (nt just every temperature cntrl cycle). Nminal Object Temperature Ramp: beginning frm firmware v3.00 the temperature cntrl algrithm is executed at the speed f the external bject temperature ADC t nt lse any samples. Therefre, the executin speed can vary up t 5% ver the whle device temperature range. This causes ramp speed [ C/s] inaccuracies. The effective executin speed is nw being measured and cnsidered in the ramp generatin mdule. FAN Cntrl: If the FAN is being disabled using the FAN Cntrl Enable in the Service Sftware, then the Fan started at 100% speed, instead f 0% Speed. Fixed by re-initializatin f the speed cntrller. Cmmunicatin Interface: Parameter ID 110 remved, because it cnflicts with LTC-1141 The Read Meta Data Cmmand (?VM) did nt cntain the NumberOfElements field The cmmands Value Set (VS), Value Read (?VR) and Read Limits (?VL) did nt send back Server errr in case f a prblem The DPY-1113 did nt update the current target temperature if the TEC Cntrller was in Ready state. Service Sftware: the applicatin crashes if the Real Time Data Lgger tries writing t an pen lg file. Fixed by adding errr handling Service Sftware: In very rare cases, the TEC Service Sftware culd nt cnnect t the FTDI chip, because the driver did nt prvide an FTDI S/N. Nw the index is used t cnnect. Btlader: the firmware upgrade can fail if there is packet lss n the serial interface. The btlader writes wrng data t the update memry, this is being detected and is n danger fr the target, the firmware upgrade prcess is cancelled (because f the intel HEX extended linear address recrd). Slved by ignring duble received packages (packages with the same sequence number) Default setting changed. Peltier Characteristics setting Psitive current is set t Cling instead f Heating. Pwer stage supply all-new with flating-pint current / vltage cntrl and PWM dithering. This results in a faster and mre precise current and vltage cntrl. Faster temperature-cntrl is cnfigurable: 1Hz,10Hz r 80/90Hz ptin available. Previusly nly 10Hz was available. 1Hz is suitable fr very slw and nisy envirnments. 80/90Hz is suitable fr very small and fast Peltier elements present in ptical detectrs r light surces. Peltier linearizatin functins ptimized fr higher peratin temperatures and multistage Peltier elements. Peltier characteristics simplified: Qmax and Umax settings remved. Object Temperature Observe Mde Yes, N r Autmatic cnfigurable. General Heat Only Cl Only mde added. Old Cl r Heat Only mdes need t be recnfigured manually after the firmware update! Heat nly is pssible by setting the upper bundary t 1000 C Cl nly is pssible by setting the lwer bundary t -273 C Heat and Cl nly with a dead windw is pssible by setting bth values t the desired upper and lwer temperature. The cntrller will nt heat r cl in the range in-between. New PBC RESx pin functins added / ptimized: Lkup Table Start / Stp. A device address ffset can be added by pulling REXx pins t GND. The fans can get stpped by releasing the RESx pin frm GND. (E.g. pening the fridge dr.) Up t 4 pre-cnfigurable target temperatures can be selected by pulling RESx pins t GND. Cmmunicatin related changes: Fr details, please have a lk at the Cmmunicatin Prtcl spec histry lg at the end f the dcument. N mre answer t the device address 255, but the cmmand will be recgnized anyway. This may be suitable fr the Change Speed cmmand in RS485 bus situatins. Cmmunicatin settings added, please refer t the table in the Cmmunicatin Prtcl spec dcument. Nt all settings are valid fr all devices. The 1092 has mre ptins available. Change Speed fall back behavir changed. The serial speed will nt fall back as lng as valid packages are present n the interface. The address is ignred fr this detectin. The RS485 baud rate f the 1091 can be changed nw. Reslved Issues In very rare situatins it happened that the bject temperature measurement ADC stpped reading crrect values r read always the same value. A watchdg and peridical ADC cnfiguratin check has been added. If the Peltier efficiency is specified with 100%, the temperature cntrller is nt wrking anymre. Slved by replacing the Peltier linearizatin mdel. If the Object Temperature changes very fast (>15 C/s) frm a high temperature t a lwer temperature, then the gain switch may fail. This results in Errr 134. This nly applies t the NTC temperature type. Slved by replacing the whle bject temperature ADC cntrl cde by a faster acting system. The Max Temp Change [ C/s] did react t fast in ramping situatins. Surveillance ptimized. The maximum change in C/s is nw bserved very accurate. A spike that is bigger than the cnfigured maximal change will be limited in the certain directin with the cnfigured maximal change. After 20 (@10Hz = 2s) succeeding limitatins in t the same directin an errr is thrwn. Using an Ethernet Service Sftware Cnnectin, then it was necessary that the whle answer frm a Query r Set cmmand was returned within 1 IP Package. An answer can nw be divided int several IP packages. The Service Sftware will cllect the data till a cmplete answer has been received.
