SAM HOUSTON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL & RENOVATION AT COLE HIGH SCHOOL Ft. Sam Houston San Antonio, TX NOTE: If you have questions about this project, please contact: Edward Rodriguez, Project Manager at SHW Group, LLP or Wanira Magaloni This Addendum is generally separated into sections for convenience; however, all contractors, subcontractors, material suppliers and other involved parties shall be responsible for reading the entire Addendum. Failure to list an item(s) in all affected sections of this Addendum does not relieve any party affected from performing per instructions, provided the information is set forth one time anywhere in the Addendum. This document shall become attached to and part of the Construction Documents for the aforementioned project. 2 GENERAL ITEMS: 1. A site visit of the project is scheduled for Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at 2:00pm. Anyone interested in visiting the project site must their name and the company they work for to: Julie Novak jnovak@fshisd.net Information sent to Ms. Novak must be received by Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at 12:00 Noon. This information will allow visitors onto the project sites which are located on Ft. Sam Houston, San Antonio, TX. For this site visit, access to Ft. Sam Houston is through the Winans Road Gate. From Harry Wurzbach Road, turn east onto Winans Road. At the stop sign, go straight toward guard post. Vehicle driver and all passengers must have valid photo identification; vehicle registration and inspection decals must be current. Proceed east on Winans Road. Turn left into parking lot adjacent to the Ft. Sam Houston ISD (FSHISD) Administrative Offices. The meeting will be held in the Professional Development Center immediately behind the Administrative Office. FSHISD vehicles will be used to transport proposers to the Elementary School site. Access to the Cole High School project site will not require proposers to be transported 2. A list of changes to the MEP drawings and specifications is attached. 3. Addendum #2 will be issued on Friday July 18, Refer to attached document Questions and Answers #1 for additional clarifications to questions received by the architect. 5. The following documents are issued and are included as part of the Instructions to Offerors a. RCSP Appendix A-1 Standard Form of Agreement Between Owner and Contractor Where The Basis Of Payment Is A Stipulated Sum, AIA Document A , as amended by Owner b. Thank you. A. Refer to Addendum #1 to address Specifications listed above. 1. Will both base bids be awarded to only 1 General Contractor? One General Contractor for both Base Bids 2. Please provide a copy of the Owner amended AIA Document A referred to in RCSP Appendix A-1 Refer to Addendum #1 3. Please provide a Beam Schedule. Will be issued as part of Addendum #2 6. The Drawing Index on Sheet G011 indicates there are Sheets S320 & S330. These sheets are not included in the plan set. 77 3. ARCH/STRUC TURAL 7. Please see Detail 14 on Sheet S300: This detail indicates the drilled piers are straight shaft wilt an embedment into the clay shale per the Pier Schedule. The pier schedule indicates the piers are to have a bell bottom and there is no embedment scheduled. Please clarify the type piers required at Cole High School. Will be issued as part of Addendum #2 8. Detail 14 on Sheet S300 is blank for the depth of pier for bid purposes. Please provide pier depth for bid purposes. Will be issued as part of Addendum #2 9. Sheet G011 for Ft. Sam Houston ES Renovations & Addition lists 3 Alternates for the project. The Instructions to Offerors indicated there is only 1 Alternate and the Proposal Form only provides for 1 Alternate. Please verify there is only 1 Alternate. There are 4 Bid Alternates. 3 Bid Alternates are listed on G011 and the 4 th Alternate shall be clarified in Addendum #2 10. Please see * SEWER SERVICE NOTE on Sheet C201. The Alternate called for in this note is not included in the Instructions to Offerors or Proposal Form. Do we need to include this alternate in our proposal? Yes Include this 4 th Alternate to be clarified in Addendum #2. 1. Specification Sections Field Equipment and Horizontal Louver Blinds are listed in the Project Manual Table of Contents but are not included in the Project Manual. Please provide these specification sections. Refer to Addendum #1. 2. Reference Sheet S112 for the Elementary School: The NW Landing w/ramp, Steps and Landing, and NE landing w/ Ramp are detailed to void forms under the grade beams and slabs. The Pier Plan on Sheet S111 does not indicate any drilled piers to support these items. Please advise how this work is to be supported. Will be issued as part of Addendum #2 3. There are no areaway vents indicated at the addition pan slab foundation. Please indicate how the crawl space is to be ventilated. Refer to Addendum #1. RFI / Questions 4. MEP The video projector from Mitsubishi XD560U is now out of production. Refer to Addendum #1. 5. ARCH 1. Will there be a second site visit scheduled? Please let us know of when another site visit will be scheduled. Refer to Addendum #1. General question John Douglas Jd-msc@swbell.net 2. The bid form has 2 base bid line items, Base Bid 1 and Base Bid 2. Will the owner award both base bid #1 and base bid #2 to one contractor or will this contract have multiple awarded general contractors? One General Contractor for both Base Bids.
78 3. Will a dedicated onsite superintendent be required for each campus, or is one superintendent acceptable for both campuses? This will be left to the discretion of the contractor. 6. ARCH Will on-site parking be provided to GC employees? Estimated 30 parking spaces are needed. At this time it is the intent of the owner to provide onsite parking at one location not each campus. This will be coordinated with the owner. However, the continued use of onsite parking may change due to changes in the military s requirements for accessing Ft. Sam Houston. General question
