1 IFB PAINTING AT HAYDON ELEMENTARY ADDENDUM #1 IFB MODIFICATIONS: BONDING REQUIREMENTS: Due to the complexity of the scope of work, MCPS is requiring bonding for this bid. The following bonds are required: 1. Bid Bond 5% of bid 2. Performance Bond 100% of bid 3. Payment Bond 100% of bid MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bid Bond in the amount of 5% of your bid. Awarded firm must demonstrate successful experience in painting of similar scope, size, and cost. Prior to start of work, the awarded firm shall provide a valid certificate of insurance and performance and payment bonds (100%) in the full amount of the contract price. Class A license is required for this project if the cost exceeds $100,000. Exhibit A Paint Areas: A new Exhibit A is attached change to rooms to be painted and not painted. Exhibit F Design and Paint Requirements: A new Exhibit F is attached to include page 8 for the Gym requirements Attachment 6 Pricing Schedule: Please disregard previous Attachment 6 and replace with Attachment 6 in this document this adds a line for pricing for Alternate Space Stage in the Cafeteria IFB CLARIFICATIONS: 1. When is the anticipated start date? Start date will be the end of the school year for students, around June 15, The work should be completed by August 13, 2018 with punch-out completed by August 20, What are the colors for the Cafeteria and Gym? The paint colors are not known for these two areas. The vendor is expected to color match the white, blue and black paint for these areas. In the Gym, there is one wall in Exhibit F that does include the Regale Blue wall SW In the Cafeteria, what is being painted? The walls up to and including the black trim are being color matched and painted, the doors and frames are being painted as well as the blue on the pillars. Vendors are NOT painting the ceiling, or panels. The two (2) rooms to the side of the stage shown in the walk-through are being painted as well. Conduits are being painted. 4. For the Alternate pricing for the Stage, what is being painted? The walls but not behind the cage on the left of the stage and the back climbing wall may or may not come down and will be discussed upon award. 5. What is being painted in the gym? The vendor will be expected to color match three walls with the existing color. Vendors are not expected to move the bleachers as they are bolted to the wall/floor. Vendors will paint Addendum 1 IFB

2 ADDENDUM #1 IFB PAINTING AT HAYDON ELEMENTARY to the top of the bleachers. Vendors will ONLY paint up to the rafters and stop, no rafters or tectum boards will be painted. The gym office will be painted. The mural will NOT be painted over. 6. What are we doing with existing murals? Existing murals are going to stay, the vendor will need to paint around them. The murals should be blocked off; the vendor is not expected to paint to mural edges. 7. Will the student/teacher art on walls in classrooms and hallways be removed? Yes, teachers will be informed that all items affixed to the walls should be removed in preparation for the work listed in this contract. 8. Will vendors paint the natural wood doors? No, vendors will not paint any of the natural wood doors 9. In bathrooms within classrooms, what will be painted? Vendor will be required to paint all walls not covered with FRP within the restrooms located inside classrooms. 10. For the round sunken room in the middle of the school, what needs to occur there? Vendors will be removing the carpet from the walls on the inside and outside of that room. The orange ceiling will be painted. The wood baseboard will be removed and replaced with the new base cove. Inside this room, the blue carpet will stay, including the blue carpet that goes slightly up the wall in the front of the room. 11. What will happen to accordion doors? Accordion doors are to be left as-is and not be painted or removed. 12. Can vendors have employees work in shifts? Yes, please notate this on the bid response. MCPS will make sure that the building is accessible to complete this work within the timeframe specified. 13. Should the vendor paint the expansion joints? No, these do not need to be painted. 14. What should vendors to for the wire molds and cords? Vendors will need to cut around wire molds and any other items permanently affixed to the walls. Projectors and the like will be bagged for the vendors before the work begins. 15. With regards to the outside painting, what is included? Vendors will only paint the exterior doors and lintels for any window that has a lintel. All anodized aluminum will NOT be painted. 16. Exhibit F shows specific artwork, is the vendor expected to paint the items, such as the birds in in the library? No the art done by others will not be part of this bid. Responses not submitted on this Attachment 6 will be found non-responsive. *The bid prices shall be for a Turnkey-all inclusive (labor, materials, equipment, overhead, bid bond, etc.) project.
