Article 2, 2.8: To which degree is this job tax exempt? What will be the tax rate? RESPONSE: Denver Public Schools is State tax exempt for materials purchased by contractors. DPS is subject to City and County of Denver taxes which total 3.62% - this percentage should be confirmed with the City and County of Denver. b. Section : Unless the owner elects at its sole option..contractor shall purchase and maintain builders risk.. Will the owner provide builders risk or should the contractor price and provide? AD4-S3 Project Manual, Section Carpeting: a. Part 2 Acceptable Products: Lines 32 and 33 Delete Lees as an acceptable product and revise statement to read as follows: Provide Monumento No with Powerbond RS back as manufactured by Tandus (base bid) or Ramie, Sorrel No with Integra HP backing as manufactured by Mannington (add alternate). See Alternates (Section ). AD4-S4 Project Manual, Section Fiberglass Reinforced Polyester Panels: a. We note that there is a specification for FRP, but have not located any FRP on the finish schedule, please clarify the locations of FRP. RESPONSE: FRP is not required on this project. Section is to be deleted entirely. AD4-S5 Project Manual, Section HVAC Air-Distribution System Cleaning: a. The specifications include an extensive duct cleaning section. Please clarify the extent of the duct/ mechanical systems cleaning required. Do you wish to clean ALL of the ductwork and mechanical equipment throughout the entire building? Or does this section only apply to the systems affected by the work? RESPONSE: HVAC system cleaning applies to the entire building. b. Please provide clarification on whether the entire building HVAC system is to be cleaned or if just the work area of the renovation is to be cleaned. If the entire building HVAC system is to be cleaned we would need HVAC drawings for areas A, D, and E. RESPONSE: HVAC system cleaning applies to the entire building. 4 AD4-S6 Project Manual, Division 28 Electronic Safety and Security: The following questions have been answered in coordination with Eric Wagner and Robert Knight of DPS DoTS, 1/5/16. a. Can a prequalified list of security contractors be provided? RESPONSE: LINX is preferred for providing and installing the security equipment (cameras, card readers, door sensors, etc.). Low voltage contractor may install the required cabling and will be responsible for the security wiring. b. What is the spec on the card reader for alternate #7? There is no access control specification section included under division 28. RESPONSE: Verify with DPS preferred vendor, LINX, for access control specification to meet DPS Standards. ARCHITECTURAL: AD4-A1 Drawings, Sheet A2.2 Partial Floor Plan: a. Re Floor Plan Sheet A2.2 room 145 in the upper right of the plan. There is reference to key note 6.3 and 6.5 however there is no note 6.3 or 6.5 in the keynote schedule. Please clarify. RESPONSE: Keynotes 6.3 and 6.5 are note used and will be deleted. AD4-A2 Drawings, Sheet A8.1 Plan Details, Section Details and Partial Exterior Elevations: a. 8/A8.1 is the only wall section that shows a solid surface sill. Elevations that show the sills are 7, 10, 13/A7.1, but the designations are only for (1) of the (3) window types. Floor plan A2.2 shows these windows as Styles E and E1 and don t mention sills. It is unknown whether or not the windows E and E1 get sills or not. Please clarify where the new solid surface window sills are and the related sections thereof. RESPONSE: The interior elevations (sheet A7.1) and the typical exterior window section (8/A8.1) clearly indicate that all new exterior windows (E and E1) receive solid surface sills. AD4-A3 Drawings, Sheet A9.1 Enlarged Restroom Plans: a. Please clarify the wall and floor finishes in Alternate No. 5, RR 123B and 123C. Notes call out to patch these finishes but the restrooms do not appear on the finish schedule. RESPONSE: Floor and wall patch is to match existing. Existing floors are tile and walls are painted CMU/gypboard. GCs are required to field verify existing conditions in order to provide match. AD4-A4 Drawings, Sheet A9.2 Door Schedule: a. Door schedule on sheet A9.2 door #119.1 calls for hardware group 400. There is no hardware group 400 in the specifications. Please clarify. RESPONSE: Door Change hardware group 400 to read 500. b. RESPONSE: Refer to drawing sheet A9.2 and project manual section for horizontal blind requirements. AD4-A6 Drawings, Sheet A9.3 Finish Plan, Area B & C Plastic Laminates: a. PL-1 Replace Mineral Jet with Bahia Granite, quarry finish with aeon, 4595K-52 by Wilsonart. b. PL-2 Replace Star of the West with Spiced Zephyr, matt finish, by Wilsonart. c. PL-2 Pointe Star of the West AT361: We assume the Architect wants the suede finish. Please confirm as anything else would be a special order. RESPONSE: Replace Star of the West with Spiced Zephyr, matt finish, by Wilsonart. d. PL-3 Formica Tangelo Halftone : Being discontinued. RESPONSE: Replace Tangelo Halftone with Orange Grove, matt finish, D by Wilsonart. e. Edge banding for PL-3: Doellken does not have a current match; we would have to go to out of town alternate sources and a continued match could not be guaranteed. RESPONSE: PL-3 does not require edge banding. Refer to drawing sheet A7.2 for clarification. f. PL-4 Formica Citrus Halftone : Being discontinued. RESPONSE: Replace Citrus Halftone with Sunshine, matt finish, D by Wilsonart. g. Edge banding for PL-4: Doellken does not have a current match; we would have to go to out of town alternate sources and a continued match could not be guaranteed. RESPONSE: PL-4 does not require edge banding. Refer to drawing sheet A7.2 for clarification. h. PL-5 Formica Mint Dotscreen : Being discontinued. RESPONSE: Replace Mint Dotscreen with Island, matt finish, D by Wilsonart. i. Edge banding for PL-5: Doellken does not have a current match; we would have to go to out of town alternate sources and a continued match could not be guaranteed. RESPONSE: PL-5 does not require edge banding. Refer to drawing sheet A7.2 for clarification. j. PL-6 Formica Aqua Dotscreen : Being discontinued. RESPONSE: Replace Aqua Dotscreen with Ocean, matt finish, D502-60, by Wilsonart. k. Edge banding for PL-6: Doellken does not have a current match; we would have to go to out of town alternate sources and a continued match could not be guaranteed. 6 AD4-A7 Drawings, Sheet A9.3 Finish Plan, Area B & C: a. Sheet A9.3 general note #4 states ALL SURFACES TO BE PAINTED P1: UNO. Can we assume this is only the surfaces as noted on the A9.3 sheet and not all the surfaces in the building? RESPONSE: Not all surfaces throughout the building are to be painted. Only those surfaces indicated in the construction drawings and specifications require paint. MECHANICAL: AD4-M1 Drawings, Sheets MD2.5 and M2.4: a. There is a mechanical penthouse shown on MD2.5 and again on M2.4. This area of the building does not appear on the Fire Protection Drawings. Will the Fire Sprinkler Protection be required in this space? Also please confirm the location of this area. We believe it may be above the center portion of Area B. RESPONSE: There are actually (3) penthouses on the roof that will need to be fire sprinkled and will come off the adjacent main floor fire zones. Refer to attached drawing FP2.4 Fire Protection Roof Plan for additional information. ELECTRICAL: AD4-E1 Construction Documents Division 27 Scope of Work: The following questions have been answered in coordination with Eric Wagner and Robert Knight of DPS DoTS, 1/5/2016. a. The speakers in the server room 142B and storage area 110A: Both these rooms are hard deck ceilings. Will it be acceptable to use wall mounted surface speakers in these rooms and not ceiling speakers? RESPONSE: Yes, these should be wall mounted similar to other hard deck areas (i.e. Interactive Meeting Area 120, etc.). b. Are the existing speaker systems in this school 70 volt or 25 volt for new speakers to be connected correctly? RESPONSE: Per Specification Section volt, confirmed by DoTS. c. Will a new amplifier need to be installed for the expanded system? RESPONSE: Yes, a Bogen TPC 250 watt amp shall be installed. d. On drawing E2.2, General note #1 it states existing wall devices shall be temporarily removed for new wall finishes and installed in same location. For the existing data outlets in remodel area, will the wall plates be masked off for painting or will the low voltage telecommunications contractor need to remove/install faceplates at existing data outlet locations? If these locations remove the faceplates, will the cabling be required to be tested before removal and after reinstallation of the faceplates? RESPONSE: Remove and reinstall faceplates at existing data outlet locations. Connections shall be tested before and after reinstallation of the faceplates. e. 7 AD4-E2 Drawings, Sheets E2.2 and E3.2: a. Sheet E2.2 and E3.2 issued in Addendum 3 both incorrectly call out the work associated with rooms 106, 146 and 102A as BID ALTERNATE NO. 5. However this work is identified elsewhere as BID ALTERNATE NO. 4. Please clarify. RESPONSE: This work shall be considered under BID ALTERNATE NO.4 as identified in Architectural Drawings. Refer to architectural plans for governing bid alternate numbers.
