The current psitin f the vehicle is acquired by GPS device which is integrated t the target vehicle and the lcatin crdinates, and then this data sent thrugh GPRS service prvided by the GSM netwrk. The GPS receiver is used fr data such as latitude and lngitude f the current lcatin. The prpsed hardware system is built using the ARM micrcntrller. This GPS receiver is interfaced with micrcntrller thrugh the serial prt and used t btain the current lcatin. The GPS receiver acquires the present psitin f the lcatin and sends the same acquired values t GPRS thrugh anther cm prt, t display the exact lcatin n Ggle map. INTRODUCTION The GPS-GPRS based tracking system is a system that makes use f the Glbal Psitining System GPS t determine and detect the precise lcatin f a vehicle t which the device is attached. When a large number f vehicles were spread all ver the grund, the wner needs t keep track fr fuel saving, time is saving. A tracking system is required t determine the lcatin f any bject at any given time and the distance travelled. The need fr a tracking system in user s vehicle is used t track reprts t lcate a stlen vehicle lcatin.in ur prject we are adding features like ignitin cntrl and buzzer in case f vehicle rbbery we can cntrl ur vehicle by turning ff ignitin and turning n buzzer t lcate the vehicle by GPS and buzzer nise. II. LITERATURE SURVEY 1) Real time Vehicle tracking system based n ARM7 GPS and GSM technlgy (Pradip V Mistary, Student, Instrumentatin Engineering, S.G.G.S Institute f Engineering & Technlgy, Nanded , IEEE INDICON ) This Paper presents GPS based tracking system that has many applicatin in tday's wrld. Fr example Vehicletracking, children tracking, any equipment tracking, fleet management etc. An efficient vehicle tracking system is implemented fr mnitring the mvement f any equipped vehicle frm any lcatin at any time. With the help f Glbal Psitining System (GPS), Glbal System fr Mbile cmmunicatin (GSM) mdem and Micrcntrller are embedded with the aim f enabling users t lcate their vehicles with ease and in a cnvenient manner. The prpsed system wrks n Glbal Psitining System (GPS) and Glbal System fr Mbile Cmmunicatin (GSM) which is used fr vehicle tracking and mnitring mechanism. a. LPC 2138 III. BLOCK DIAGRAM In this prject LPC2138 micrcntrller is used fr interfacing t varius hardware peripherals like in ur prject we are interfacing GPS and GSM t the cntrller. The current design is an embedded applicatin, which will cntinuusly mnitr a mving Vehicle and reprt the status f the Vehicle n relative display r website. Fr ding s an LPC2138 micrcntrller is interfaced serially t a GSM Mdem and GPS Receiver. A GSM mdem is used t send the psitin (Latitude and Lngitude) f the vehicle frm a remte place. The GPS mdem will cntinuusly give the data i.e. the latitude and lngitude indicating the psitin f the vehicle. The GPS mdem gives many parameters as the utput, but nly the NMEA data cming ut is read and displayed n t the LCD. The same data is sent t the mbile at the ther end frm where the psitin f the vehicle is demanded. An EEPROM is used t stre the mbile number. Fig 1: Blck diagram b. GPS GPS, in full Glbal Psitining System, space-based radi-navigatin system that bradcasts highly accurate navigatin pulses t users n r near the Earth. In the United States Navstar GPS, 24 main satellites in 6 rbits circle the Earth every 12 hurs. In additin, Russia maintains a cnstellatin called GLONASS (Glbal Navigatin Satellite System). GPS receiver wrks n 9600 baud rate is used t receive the data frm space Segment (frm Satellites), the GPS values f different Satellites are sent t micrcntrller AT89S52, where these are prcessed and frwarded t GSM. 3 lngitude values excluding time, altitude, name f the satellite, authenticatin etc. E.g. LAT: 1728:2470 LOG: GSM mdem with a baud rate Triangulatin The principle behind the unprecedented navigatinal capabilities f GPS is triangulatin. T triangulate, a GPS receiver precisely measures the time it takes fr a satellite signal t make its brief jurney t Earth less than a tenth f a secnd. Then it multiplies that time by the speed f a radi wave 300,000 km (186,000 miles) per secnd t btain the crrespnding distance between it and the satellite. This puts the receiver smewhere n the surface f an imaginary sphere with a radius equal t its distance frm the satellite. Fig 2: Triangulatin/Trilateratin methd When signals frm three ther satellites are similarly prcessed, the receiver s built-in cmputer calculates the pint at which all fur spheres intersect, effectively determining the user s current lngitude, latitude, and altitude. (In thery, three satellites wuld nrmally prvide an unambiguus three-dimensinal fix, but in practice at least fur are used t ffset inaccuracy in the receiver s clck.) In additin, the receiver calculates current velcity (speed and directin) by measuring the instantaneus Dppler Effect shifts created by the cmbined mtin f the same fur satellites. c. GSM GSM that we have selected fr ur prject is SIM 900. Maximum 160 characters per SMS are available. GSM uses 900 r 1800 MHz frequency Glbal System fr Mbile Cmmunicatin is the wrld s mst ppular standard fr mbile telephny system The GSM Assciatin estimates that 80% f the glbal mbile market uses the standard. 4 This ubiquity means that subscribers can use their phnes thrughut the wrld, enabled by internatinal raming arrangements between mbile netwrk peratrs. GSM differs frm its predecessr technlgies in that bth signaling and speech channels are digital, and thus GSM is cnsidered a secnd generatin mbile phne system. This als facilitates the wide-spread implementatin f data cmmunicatin applicatins int the system. d. RS232 INTERFACE In telecmmunicatins serial single-ended data cntrl Data Terminal Equipment Data Circuit-terminating Equipment cmputer serial prts, RS-232 is the traditinal name fr a series f standards fr binary and signals cnnecting between a DTE () and a DCE (). It is cmmnly used in. The standard defines the electrical characteristics and timing f signals, the meaning f signals, and the physical size and pin ut f cnnectrs. The current versin f the standard is TIA-232-F Interface between Data Terminal Equipment and Data Circuit-Terminating Equipment Emplying Serial Binary Data Interchange, issued in Fig 4: 25 pin cnnectr as described in the RS-232 standard An RS-232 prt was nce a standard feature f a persnal cmputer mdems, printers, and mice, universal, serial bus fr cnnectins t data strage, un-interruptible pwer supplies, and ther peripheral devices. Hwever, the limited transmissin speed, relatively large vltage swing, and large standard cnnectrs mtivated develpment f the which has displaced RS-232 frm mst f its peripheral interface rles. Many mdern persnal cmputers have n RS-232 prts and must use an external cnverter t cnnect t lder peripherals. Sme RS-232 devices are still fund especially in industrial machines r scientific instruments. e. MAX232 IC The integrated circuit RS-232 TTL MAX232 is an that cnverts signals frm an serial prt t signals suitable fr use in cmpatible digital lgic circuits. The MAX232 is a dual driver/receiver and typically cnverts the RX, TX, CTS and RTS signals. The drivers prvide RS-232 vltage level utputs (apprx. ± 7.5 V) frm a single + 5 V supply via nchip charge pumps pwer supply and external capacitrs. This makes it useful fr implementing RS-232 in devices that therwise d nt need any vltages utside the 0 V t + 5 V range, as design des nt need t be made mre cmplicated just fr driving the RS-232 in this case. The receivers reduce RS-232 inputs (which may be as high as ± 25 V), t standard 5 V TTL hysteresis levels. These receivers have a typical threshld f 1.3 V, and a typical f 0.5 V. The later MAX232A is backwards cmpatible with the riginal MAX232 but may perate at higher baud μf rates and can use smaller external capacitrs 0.1 in place f the 1.0 μf capacitrs used with the riginal device. When a MAX232 IC receives a TTL level t cnvert, it changes a TTL Lgic 0 t between +3 and +15 V, and changes TTL Lgic 1 t between -3 t -15 V, and vice versa fr cnverting frm RS232 t TTL. This can be cnfusing when yu realize that the RS232 Data Transmissin vltages at a certain lgic state are ppsite frm the RS232 Cntrl Line vltages at the same lgic state. The same data is sent t the webpage at the ther end frm where the psitin f the vehicle is demanded. An EEPROM is used t stre the mbile number. The hardware interfaces t micrcntrller are LCD display, GSM mdem and GPS Receiver. The design uses RS-232 prtcl fr serial cmmunicatin between the mdems and the micrcntrller. A serial driver IC is used fr cnverting TTL vltage levels t RS-232 vltage levels. When the request by user is sent t the number at the mdem, the system autmatically sends a return reply t that mbile indicating the psitin f the vehicle in terms f latitude and lngitude. 6 V. SYSTEM DEVELOPMENT WEBPAGE LOGIN ID PROCEDURE Abve figure shws lgin ID f user. Abve webpage made in visual studi using C#.net fr cding. We designed user interface f abve webpage using inbuilt tlbx in visual studi we have used free dmain f smee.cm fr ur webpage. When we enter user name, passwrd then it will get redirected t tracking page. After entering username and passwrd then its shws default latitude, lngitude values and after few secnds page will get refreshed it shws current lcatin f vehicle. It als cntains ignitin cntrl ptin fr turning OFF the ignitin f vehicle. The map shws real time lcatin f vehicle. Ignitin cntrl gets cnsists f micrcntrller cntinually data giving t the relay (cmd=1) i.e. ON cnditin, but when user click ignitin cntrl ptin then micrcntrller will send (cmd=0) t relay then ignitin f the vehicle OFF cnditin. 7 VI. SIMULATION & RESULTS a. Current Lngitude value: It shws current lngitude values n LCD display frm GPS mdule. When the GPS mdule takes this data frm the satellite and this given t the micrcntrller and micrcntrller will send the cmmand t the LCD display t the current lngitude values. 8 VII. ADVANTAGES Fr real time tracking the vehicle It gives the lcatin f the vehicle time t time. Gives accurate lcatin and distance travelled by vehicle - We can track vehicle psitin as accurate as pssible upt 5 meters clse. Less pwer requirements - This system requires very less amunt f pwer fr the peratin. We can implement this prduct in all type f Vehicles - We can place this prduct in tw wheelers, fur wheelers and all ther type f vehicles. VIII. APLICATIONS Autmtive and transprt vehicle Security transprtatin When the vehicle is rbbed we can switch ff ignitin frm any place Fr tracking Schl Bus IX. CONCLUSION We develped and tested a vehicle tracking system t track the exact lcatin f a mving r statinary vehicle in real time. This system has described the designed and develpment f the system in real time successfully. The system cnsists f hardware mdule as well as sftware part. The system prvides psitining and navigatinal infrmatin in terms f n. f parameters. The develped system is cmpact and reliable. Using the same system internet based applicatins and mbile based messaging applicatins. And main applicatin f this prject is that we can turn ff the ignitin f vehicle if in case theft a vehicle. This system can be further extended fr multiple applicatins as fllws Anti-theft system fr cars and bikes. Managing f public transprts likes buses and trains. Tracking f valuable assets.
