It's All In Having The Right Tools! Welcome to the Row-by-Row Experience! We are glad you are here! We have 2 rows to choose from! Is there a quilter among us that doesn't know about the Row-by-Row experience? What started out as a fun summer idea to help drive traffic into area brick and mortar quilt shops has grown by leaps and bounds. This year ALL 50 STATES and CANADA are participating! Why so popular? The answer is simple. Only a few rules and the patterns are FREE! The program is really all about the experience that you have in the stores you visit. Sure, we hope you buy something and most of you do. We also love seeing new faces, hearing about your experiences and the fact that you allow us to share our store with you. Quilters are simply nice people. Now about those rules. To receive the FREE pattern you must stop in the shop in person. One FREE pattern per person. We are offering 2 different rows this summer, you have your choice of which FREE pattern you receive. We also have kits for sale, the pattern is included in each kit. You can purchase as many kits as you like. Custom license plates are also available! Cute as the dickens, we also have 2 of those to offer WHILE SUPPLIES LAST. We don't reorder. If you would like our SCRAP CRAZY or our Pittsburgh'ese QUILT N'AT, don't delay. When they are gone they are gone. New this year are mini license plate enamel collectors pins. We have our "SCRAP CRAZY" pins in stock and ready to go! See page 4 for details.

2 Dear Friends, I am officially proclaiming the summer of 2015 the summer of FUN! I know that you will be busy traveling from store to store to gather your Row by Row patterns and kits. That does not mean that you shouldn't spend as much time as possible sewing this summer. It is summer fun time time to do more of what you LOVE! If you are collecting license plates or collectable pins while you row, we have some great project ideas to help you make use of those fabric plates. When you purchase our SCRAP CRAZY pin you will also get a FREE pattern for a fun project to show off your pin. I'm hoping to have time to digitize that cute little car for Embroidery Club. You won't want to miss that! The laundry list of fun summer activities on the front page of this newsletter is just a small indication of what the shop and I will be involved in this summer. You should check out a few or at least one of the out of town events. They are great fun and you never know what you will find. Last winter I had requests for classes that would allow you to make the fun projects that we present at our annual Handmade for the Holidays event. You wanted them later when you would have more time. I listened. We have packed one week in July and sprinkled a few into August. This is your chance to sit down and make one of these great projects while you have the time. I selected the ones that are especially great for gift giving so that you can get a jump on that holiday gift list. This just might be the year that you get everything done! Each of the Summer Fun Classes listed on page 4 are priced at only $10 each and they are also classes. If you have a current card the classes are FREE. If you don't have a card you can still save a bundle by buying a $50 Class Pass and then you can take or retake as many of the classes as you like. The Class Pass only applies to the classes featured on page 4. As much as I hate to think about the summer being half over, Saturday, July 25th really is halfway to Christmas. We are going to celebrate with a fun assortment of Holiday Demo's at both 10:00 and 1:00. The demo sessions are identical, you only need to attend one to get the information, see the latest ideas and be inspired to sew, sew, sew before it snow, snow, snows. It is only $5 to register and I guarantee that you will get your monies worth. My elves have had their thinking caps on since last Christmas so that we can bring you the fun projects that you will enjoy making. I myself will have my traveling shoes on all summer. Taking the show on the road isn't really a vacation, it's part of the job and a ton of work. I'm lucky to have such a great team here in the shop that keeps things running smoothly while I'm away. It is also easy to stay in touch. I will continue to send Monday Madness specials to the "local" group early each Monday morning all summer long. Make sure you are signed up for the local s so that you don't miss hearing about the crazy one day specials. I would also love to have you "like" our Facebook page. I post photos of the shows, great quilts that inspire me and let you know what is happening in the quilt world. After a road trip it is always nice to come home and see what's new in the shop. And it never fails, we ALWAYS have something new - you have to love that! Enjoy your travels, but don't forget to come home! 3 SUMMER CLASSES A sewing machine in good working order is required for all classes unless otherwise noted. Materials for class are in addition to the class fee unless listed as included in the class description. You are going to LOVE this tote! MONDO BAG Ruth Ann is a Mondo Bag expert! Let her show you how to make the basic bag then kick it up a notch with a variety of stabilizers, interior pockets and customized touches. Make yours exactly the way you want. Pattern required. Stop in to see our samples in assorted sizes. Class Fee: $20 Aug. 1 & 15 1:00-4:00 TOTES WITH ZIPPERS Step aside Vera, this tote is an original! Easy to construct, this versatile duffle style tote bag is large enough to hold everything you need for a weekend trip. You can even size it to fit in the overhead or under an airline seat. Start with pre-quilted fabric or quilt your own for a unique look. We will customize the exterior pockets in class. Fabric must be quilted before class. Pattern provided. Class Fee $20. Tues. July 7 & 14 JAPANESE JIGSAW QUILT Not all of the specialty rulers that are available are created equal. Some are simply genius! The Japanese Jigsaw ruler by Tracy Brookshire is one of the great ones. Believe it or not, this fun ruler will turn a simple 4 patch block into this fantastic quilt. Like all good things, it takes a bit of planning, but that is what the class is for! Class Fee $20 Sat. July 11 & 18 10:00-1:00 Purchase our Row By Row Pin and get a FREE PATTERN $4.99 TUFFET CLASS Do you LOVE it? Tuffets are springing up all over and here in the 'burgh, our store is no different. We have researched and studied and now we are ready to offer a class for this piece of fun furniture. To make the process easier we are offering a project kit that contains all of the materials you need (except the feet) for your tuffet. Kits will only be available to those taking the class. You CAN do this! The fabric is foundation paper pieced and we will help you with the upholstery. Class fee $35 Tues. You will learn to make beautiful hexagon blocks like the one at left that we will attach together with several others to make a stunning table runner. 5 Embroidery Club It's FREE! June 20 July 18 Everyone is invited to attend our Embroidery Club on the third Saturday of each month at 10:00 am! At each meeting we share a project idea, new tips, customer show and tell and provide you with a FREE embroidery design for the featured project. It doesn't matter what brand of machine you own, we offer the design in all formats. All you need to do to receive the FREE design is purchase a USB stick from The Quilt Company and attend the meeting each month. No need to make a reservation, just stop by and join in the fun! Don't forget to bring your show and tell! no matter what brand of machine you own! Class Policy 1. Students must pay the class fee at the time of registration. You are not considered registered for the class until the fee is paid. The class fee does not include supplies or materials for the class unless noted. 2. Before mailing a class registration please phone the shop to secure a place on the class list. Include a self addressed, stamped envelope with your payment if you would like a materials list mailed to you. 3. Supply lists are available only after the class fee has been paid. When the materials list is part of a pattern, or a pattern is required for class, each student is required to purchase their own copy of the pattern. 4. Only students with paid registrations will be notified of cancellations or changes. 5. Instructors are Independent Contractors, the scheduling, size, and cancellation is left to the discretion of the instructor. Classes that are cancelled by the Instructor will be refunded in full. Students wishing to cancel a paid class must do so 3 days prior to the start of the first class to receive a refund of the class fee. No refunds will be given after that time. 6. Students enrolled in a Quilt Company class will receive a 10% discount on all purchases made during the time they are enrolled in class, excluding gift and consignment items. 7. This well run group regularly produces well over 100 quilts each year that are awarded to wounded Vets both in our area and nationwide. Based on the Ricky Tims method of creating your own original pattern, this class will show you how easy it is to make something that is uniquely yours. It isn't as difficult as it looks. It is as simple as drawing lines on freezer paper. Make something as small as a pillow top or large enough to fit the top of your bed. Class fee $24. Mon.
