This "just for fun" summer program is designed to allow you to experience the more creative side of fiber art. We have chosen 6 unique techniques to share with you on Monday evenings and the program is absolutely FREE. Join us for the demo/lecture from 6:30 to 7:30 where we will show you how you can expand your creativity with very simple methods using things that you probably have around the house. Then you are welcome to stay and try your hand at the featured technique. We prefer that you register for any or all of the sessions so that we can plan and prepare enough materials for everyone. Registration is as simple as calling the shop at Even if you aren't registered and you find yourself in need of a creative kick, stop by and join in the fun! We had a very successful cutting and prep day where we put together precut quilt kits for these lap size projects. Now we are inviting you to join us to help assemble the quilt tops and get these quilts well on the way to completion! Plan to come sew with us on any of the in store work days. We would love to have you join us for just a few hours or the entire day. We will provide everything you need to assemble the quilt top but we ask that you please bring your own sewing machine. If you are unable to join us to sew in the store but would still like to help, you are welcome to stop by and sign out a quilt kit to assemble at home. The patterns are simple and the pieces are pre-cut and ready to sew. Stop by the shop for details. 2 Dear Friends, I absolutely love the lazy days of summer. There is something about the relaxed casual lifestyle that makes me more willing to try new things. I like to experiment, roll my sleeves up, get my hands dirty and then share my adventures with you. Last year our summer Happy Hour program was so much fun we decided to tweak it a bit and repeat the success. You will find the list of dates and projects on page 1. The programs are free, yes, you read that right, there is no charge for this program, it is absolutely FREE. The goal isn't to sell you anything, it is to spark your creativity and expose you to some fun possibilities that you may not otherwise have the chance to experience. On the Monday evenings listed we will present a program on a unique technique from 6:30 to 7:30 in our classroom. We will have the supplies available for you to try and an in-depth demonstration of how the technique works. You are under no obligation to purchase anything, but we will have the unique supplies available if you are inspired to try something on your own. Why not try a little something new? Hand applique enthusiasts can look forward to joining Polly Marsh on Friday mornings for Applique Assistance. You are welcome to bring any project that you are working on and get a little stitching done for just $8 per session. You can enjoy a morning of stitching and take advantage of advice from a real pro. Polly's work is magnificent and she is willing to share her tips and techniques with you in this drop in class. Our Community Service Days are another way to share your sewing skills with a great cause with absolutely no cost to you. We have committed to providing 50 lap quilts to Bethlehem Haven House by this fall. We are providing precut quilt kits to those of you that would like to help us meet our goal. Mark your calendar and join us to help assemble the tops. Sew a little or sew a lot, we and the recipients of the quilts will be thankful that you did. Please take note of our vacation schedule on page 1. Closing for vacation the first full week of August to give my staff time off has become a tradition. It also allows us to do any heavy duty maintenance like re-carpeting and painting while the store is closed. This year we are continuing the tradition of being closed, but without any real disruptive work to be accomplished. This provides us with the opportunity to try something new! Many of you have joked that you would love to be locked in the shop when nobody else is here. Well, this is it, your opportunity to get your wish! We are hosting an In-store retreat August while we are closed! Debby and I will be here to assist, encourage and pamper you just a bit, but only the 16 lucky attendees will be able to shop, sew, cut with the AccuQuilt, sew, snack, sew, and not bother to clean up for 3 full days. You get to sleep in your own bed, come and go as you please and enjoy having the shop to yourself (almost)! See page 4 for details. We are kicking off the summer months with the Western PA Shop Hop on June Our movie theme is "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest". You can expect costumes, unique treats, "crazy" blocks and you won't want to miss Nurse Ratchet! The summer months are also filled with the final round of Scrap Pot Pie, Christmas in July and a holiday trunk show mid summer to get you inspired to start your holiday stitching early. We are continuing our summer quilt shows, featuring the work of one of our customers every two weeks here in the store. We love having the opportunity to share the work of our customers as much as you love seeing it. Make a point of stopping by to check out the new displays. Quilter's University has several new offerings and a few requested repeats. If you are not familiar with this program - you should be! Each class covers one topic. We provide all the materials you need and you get to experience, hands on, any technique you select for just $5 per class. That might not sound like the plans for a lazy summer to you, but around here, that is as slow as things get and we wouldn't have it any other way! 4 Scrap Pot Pie Class Policy Club is ending soon! We have just 3 more months left in this scrap-a-licious program, but it is not too late to join in the fun! Each session, June, July & August features a unique quilt and the pattern is specifically written to help you use up your fabric stash. You will receive a free copy of the fully illustrated pattern, a recipe, and optional size requirements for each project. Meetings are held on the third Thursday of the month at 10 am and 7 pm. Call the shop to register. Just $5 per session! 1. Students must pay the class fee at the time of registration. You are not considered registered for the class until the fee is paid. The class fee does not include supplies or materials for the class unless noted. 2. Before mailing a class registration please phone the shop to secure a place on the class list. Include a self addressed, stamped envelope with your payment if you would like a materials list mailed to you. 3. Supply lists are available only after the class fee has been paid. When the materials list is part of a pattern, or a pattern is required for class, each student is required to purchase their own copy of the pattern. 4. Only students with paid registrations will be notified of cancellations or changes. 5. Instructors are Independent Contractors, the scheduling, size, and cancellation is left to the discretion of the instructor. Classes that are cancelled by the Instructor will be refunded in full. Students wishing to cancel a paid class must do so 3 days prior to the start of the first class to receive a refund of the class fee. No refunds will be given after that time. 6. Students enrolled in a Quilt Company class will receive a 10% discount on all purchases made during the time they are enrolled in class, excluding gift and consignment items. 7. Weather related delays are handled on an individual basis. The very best of both worlds! Sew all day with friends in a well equipped, well stocked sewing space and sleep in your own bed at night! Best of all, this retreat takes place in our very own store, when the shop is closed for vacation. As one of the16 lucky participants you can be one of the only people in the shop on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. You are welcome to spread out, use our design walls, our oversized cutting space, our AccuQuilt machine and if you run out of thread, it will be right at your fingertips! Debby and Karen will be available for the weekend to help, assist, and inspire you as well as pamper you just a little. The weekend begins early Friday afternoon. You are welcome to arrive as early as 1:00pm to an early start. Friday evening we will provide pizza and treats for dinner at 6:30 and snacks to help you keep sewing until 10:00pm. The Quilt Company In the Store Retreat August 7, 8 & 9 Saturday you can start your sewing day at 10:00am with your morning coffee and treats. Keep stitching until you break just long enough for a salad bar lunch. Although you are free to come and go as you please, we know you will want to share a catered dinner with your sewing friends and then you are welcome to keep stitching until 10:00pm. Sunday starts early at 8:00am with coffee and juice and brunch at 11:00am. The enchanted weekend ends at 5:00 pm Sunday when everyone, including the shop, will need to get ready for work on Monday. You deserve the very best! Space is limited $115 meals included

We have selected "One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest" because, well, we are just a little bit crazy! This year the progressive quilt is made up of 10 inch blocks.
