8 Recycle 101: $20 Does the thought of making a quilt using men's neckties leave you excited to jump on the recycling bandwagon? Not sure exactly how to sew with those slippery things? Join Shelley, the queen of sewing with neckties! She will walk you through collecting, cleaning, and taking apart the ties. Then you will do some hands on samples using ties you've brought to class using Shelley's favorite methods for working with ties. September 8-1pm - 5pm Instructor - Shelley Wicks Sandbox Hopscotch: $75 This is the class for you if you ve never sat at a sewing machine, or never used a rotary cutter, ruler and mat. We will help you learn the basics of quilting, from using the tools of the trade to the importance of accurate seam allowances. You will be guided every step of the way, and leave the class with the knowledge and confidence to branch onto your next project! Make these string pieced trees, add a little paper pieced trunk, then incorporate them into a quilt! It's kind of like quilting for FREE!
