WOOLY WEDNESDAY - $5 Third Wednesday of every month from 4:00pm - 7:00pm Come and be the first to see new patterns, wool, and kits while working on your own wool projects. Beginners are welcome! APPLIQUE CLUB - $5 Meets the fourth Thursday of the month from 1:00pm - 5:00pm All applique projects are welcome! Let us help you get over the fear of working with this wonderful, yet sometimes difficult fabric. DON T BE AFRAID OF CUDDLE - $35 February 14, Learn the basic techniques for working with cuddle fabrics while making a simple throw or baby blanket. BUDDING LOVE March 2, SUMMER BLOOMS April 29, CUDDLE BLANKET - $35 March 14, Using Hoffman s Digitally printed cuddle panels, make a throw blanket and matching pillows. JELLY BEAN FACES April 11, These super soft adorable pillows are made using cuddle fabrics. You can choose from farm animals, wild life, or mythical beasts. BEGINNING KNITTING - $30 January 16 and 23, 3:00pm - 5:00pm BEGINNING CROCHET - $30 January 28, 11:00am - 3:00pm Make yourself a simple beanie hat using three basic stitches, 1 ball of worsted weight yarn and a size H hook. What could be easier than that? CASHMERE COWL - $30 March 6 and 20, 3:00pm - 5:00pm There are no complex stitches in this cowl, just putting together some stripes, texture and lace with 3 colors. LACE SHAWL - $30 April 3 and 10, 3:00pm - 5:00pm Can t figure out what to knit with that single skein of sock yarn in a variegated colorway? This shawl is the answer! Learn to knit lace in an airy shawl. 4 Monthly Classes BEGINNING QUILTING - $35 January 4, February 8, March 9, or April 12 10:30am - 4:00pm Have you always wanted to learn how to quilt, or need to brush up on your sewing skills? Join us for Quilting! Start with the basics and move from a simple four patch to half square triangles. STRIPOLOGY MINI RULER January 9, Working with the new Stripology Mini ruler, 5" squares, and the Two Timer pattern by GE Designs will get you two quilts instead of one with this fun and easy pattern. SASHING & BORDERS & BINDINGS OH MY! January 11, Are your sashing and borders wonky? Does binding scare you? This is the class for you! We will be going over all the best techniques for these troublesome areas of finishing our quilts. COLLAGE CLASS January 18 or April 18, Have you seen the new mini patterns from Laura Heine? Now you can have all the fun of learning the different techniques used in collage applique, but with a smaller project that's easier to find space for. All Laura Heine patterns are welcome for class. These projects are fast and easy and are a great creative break! MOONCATCHER - $150 January 19, February 16, and March 16 Join Certified Judy Niemeyer Instructor Kristen Bender in a three-part class to make this stunning quilt. Mooncatcher has a great balance of straight lines and gentle curves and finishes at 99" square. BEGINNING PAPER PIECING January 22, In this class you will be learning all the basics of foundation paper piecing, from drawing your own patterns to the proper sewing techniques. Beginner patterns are provided to get you started. JELLY ROLL RUG January 30, Working with 2 ½" strips, you can make a wonderful rug! Either pull from your stash or buy that beautiful jelly roll you've had your eye on! SEW EASY PAJAMA CLASS - $35 January 31, Learn how fast and easy it is to make pajama pants from your favorite fabrics. FREEPORT GATHERER February 6, Make this beautiful bag with a jelly roll or leftover 2 ½" strips. HALF SQUARE TRIANGLES 7 WAYS February 9, It's all about the half square triangle! Learn 7 different methods for creating your best half square triangle blocks and how to sew them accurately using different tools and rulers. Blocks made during class can be used to build fun runners, wall hangings and more. FOUNDATION PAPER PIECING March 23, We'll cover the basics of paper piecing and then work on this fun "Cow Abstractions" pattern. IMPROV TECHNIQUES April 13, This class will concentrate on trying out several different Improv Fabric techniques. Use up some of your scraps as you try them out and decide which one is your favorite method. STUDIO 180 DESIGNS Tucker University is a new and exciting opportunity to help quilters build their skills and accuracy. Each class covers a different Studio 180 Design tool along with ways to expand the use of the tool. Students will make 4" finished units so that they can combine and create new blocks. The creativity is contagious! TUCKER TRIMMER - $35 January 26 10:00am - 3:00pm Learn how to use a Tucker Trimmer to create half square triangles, quarter square triangles, and combination units. WING CLIPPER - $35 March 30 10:00am - 3:00pm Learn the simple secrets to create crisp, clean flying geese effectively and quickly. Grubers celebrated turning 36 under my watch, but is actually into 4 generations, beginning in 1933 during the Great Depression. Courtney, Becky, and our 20 person staff at Grubers follows Michelangelo's advice every day. There is much planned for 2019 from classes, events, a big trip, guest teachers and the addition of another long arm (we couldn't keep up!) Every day is a new adventure and taking this in with each of you is the very best part of the Gruber day.
