Thrughut histry artists have been inspired, mtivated and influenced t create artwrks that reflect persnal views, attitudes and respnses t their wrld. Artists are cnstantly intrducing new ideas and appraches t creating art. has been added t the numerus tls which the artist has available t cmmunicate visually. The wrd Phtgraphy means drawing with light; it is simply an added medium t recrd what the artist sees r wishes t say. Term 1 will see yu will becme familiar with STILL LIFE in phtgraphy. WHAT IS STILL LIFE?: Still life phtgraphy is the prtrayal f smething inanimate: a representatin f inanimate bjects such as fruit, flwers, r fd, ften in a dmestic setting, in paintings, pictures, r phtgraphs. Yu will cmplete critical analysis tasks as well as a series f tasks which will lead yu t the final task f prducing a Still Life Digital image that is inspired by what yu have learnt and an everyday bject that is special t yu in yur life. Yu will use the camera and arts media and technlgy t create wrks f art that reflect yur understanding and yu will examine the prcess f representatin and the way values are cnstructed in media texts. Yu will view, listen t a analyse media texts, generate ideas and learn the basic skills and prcesses as yu apply yur knwledge and creativity in yur final phtgraphic artwrks. Term 2 will see yu learn abut. Yu will cmplete an investigatin task n a surrealism artist and yu will cmplete a series f tasks which will lead yu t the final task f prducing a Surreal Digital image that is inspired by what yu have studied. Yu will use the camera and arts media and technlgy t create wrks f art that are surreal. Yu will examine the prcess f representatin and the way values are cnstructed in media texts. Yu will view, listen t and analyse media texts, generate ideas and learn the basic skills and prcesses as yu apply yur knwledge and creativity in yur final artwrks. Yu are expected t rganize yur display fli and electrnic wrk fli t shw the sequential develpment f the prject. Include all handu phtcpies, wrksheets etc. in yur fli. A prtable thumb drive memry stick is a requirement fr this subject. Finally, yu will be expected t use class time effectively. In Year 9 and 10, students are prvided with pprtunities t explre in mre depth the way media wrk is cnstructed in different cntexts and hw it can be used t challenge the values f an audience. They explre past and current media trends n audience use f media. Students cntinue t make and respnd t their wn media prductins and prfessinal media wrk within the selected media type, genre r style studied, using refined media prductin skills and prcesses: prblem slving, wrking as a team, r independently; setting and fllwing persnal and grup timelines; and independently using media equipment safely and respnsibly. This subject builds n and expands the skills develped in previus years Media Arts Phtgraphy. This curse is fr students wh want t take their phtgraphy skills further. This will see yu use mre advanced phtgraphic equipment t prduce far better than average selfies. The curse incrprates design knwledge, gives purpse t the great phts that will cme abut and makes the mst f yur artistic and technical skills in an area that will be f use thrughut yur life. Students will acquire knwledge and skills in the use f digital sftware like Lightrm and Phtshp t crrect, refine and creatively manipulate images. Yu will investigate the rle f phtgraphy in different cultures and sciety and hw t interprete thers and yur wn phtgraphs. Yu will becme prficient in the skills f design and creative thinking.

2 OUTCOMES At Standard, students apply mstly crrect media arts terminlgy specific t the task and chsen cntext. They select and use cdes with sme effectiveness t cnstruct meaning, select and cmbine narrative cnventins apprpriate t genre r purpse and use sme cnventins t psitin audience. Students use selectin prcesses t cnstruct representatins f ideas, issues and peple that reflect r challenge values. They demnstrate scial and cultural sensitivity in media wrk by cmplying with cntrls and audience values. Students cmplete mst required planning, and select and safely use technlgy t create and edit planned media wrk, applying prblem-slving prcesses with mstly effective results. They fulfil mst persnal and team timeline respnsibilities and cntribute t sme team prblem slving. Students describe, in their wn wrk and the wrk f thers, aspects, and explain the impact, f media wrk in relatin t audience and purpse in a variety f cntexts. They describe the impact f past and current trends n hw audiences use media. 2. EXPECTATIONS OF STUDENTS Students will find this a practical, wrk-related subject where yu will learn by cmpleting prjects aimed at helping yu t develp yur creative and technical skills. Yu will be required t prduce an electrnic prtfli f all practical tasks fr assessment. Yu will be required t wrk bth independently and within grups in a prfessinal manner, shwing yurself t be rganised, resurceful, reliable, cmmitted and being capable f meeting deadlines. a.
