This permits the operator to moitor the composite trasmitted RF sigals coveietly, quickly, ad reliably without havig to go to the atea site or ivest i a spectrum aalyzer for every atea site. 15 System 8000 Fiber-Optic Iterfacility Liks System 8000 Redudacy System 8000 provides multiple redudacy optios. The stadard offerigs are sigle thread, 1:1, ad 1:2. The 1:1 ad 1:2 cofiguratios offer two modes of redudacy switchig: automatic ad maual. Automatic Mode I this mode, iteral sesig ad cotrol provides automatic switchig to the backup lik i case of ay failure i the optical system. If the laser temperature alarm or laser optical power alarm is detected at the fiber-optic trasmitter, the faulty trasmitter is shut off. I the 1:2 redudacy scheme, if these coditios are detected, the switch positio is chaged to select the backup lik. The fiber-optic receiver the detects loss of received optical power ad the output is switched to the backup lik. If the fiber-optic cable cotaiig the fiber for the primary lik is broke, the fiber-optic receiver detects loss of received optical power ad the output is switched to the other chael. The switchig due to receiver failure works idepedetly of the exteral moitorig ad cotrol (M ad C) system oly for the 1:1 cofiguratio. For the 1:2 versio, the exteral M ad C must switch the iput to the backup trasmitter. Maual Mode Whe this mode is selected, automatic switchig to the backup lik is tured off. This mode ca be selected remotely through the M ad C system or it ca be selected locally by pressig the auto-off butto o the frot pael of the status ad cotrol plug-i o the chassis. Figure 1.
