The purpse f this plicy is t set service standards that guide the design f the transit system, recgnizing custmer needs and ensuring the effective use f available resurces. The plicy establishes: Parameters fr the level f service that shuld be prvided Rute perfrmance measures that are used t identify ptentially under-perfrming and verperfrming services; and Guidelines fr the implementatin f new services, walking distances t transit service and time perids f peratin

Limited weekday midday service will be prvided when peak perid service is implemented. Service in ffpeak time perids t be prvided where it is expected that minimum rute perfrmance standards wuld be achieved (at the discretin f Edmntn Transit) Will be cnsidered when walking distance t majr senir residences (greater than 50 units), activity centres r ther identified destinatins is greater than 250 metres. Implementatin Perids New peak services shall be maintained fr a minimum f 1 year New ffpeak services and peak industrial services shall be maintained fr a minimum f 2 years

5 Page 5 f 5 Service Mnitring New service implementatins shall be mnitred thrughut the implementatin perid and shuld achieve stage perfrmance threshlds as fllws: Peak perids 50% f the recmmended minimum perfrmance level after 6 mnths; 100% after 1 year All ther time perids and peak industrial service 50% f the recmmended minimum perfrmance level after 1 year; 100% after 2 years New services that d nt meet these threshlds will be reviewed fr imprvement measures, and may be discntinued at the end f the implementatin perid if perfrmance imprvement prspects are nt in evidence. On-Time Perfrmance Departures frm key timing pints frm 0 minutes befre t 3 minutes after the scheduled departure time n 90% f trips. N vehicles will leave a timing pint early. Arrival times at key timing pints frm 5 minutes early t 1 minute late n 90% f trips.
