1 Oklahoma Quiltworks Winter / Spring Sessions January 1 May 31 Kids Classes for June and July will be published April 15 Note: Beginning in January we will be closing at 6:30pm on Thursdays during the Winter Months. We will resume our normal Thursday night hours starting in April. Quilt Camps Open to all Levels Friday & Saturday, March 29 & 30, 9:30am 9:30pm Cost: $90 # or Friday & Saturday, May 31 & June 1, 9:30am 9:30pm Cost: $90 # WHAT IS A QUILT CAMP? If you have never attended, you may have no idea what we are talking about. It is designed to provide space to spread out for two days, without interruption from family members, household duties or anything else that gets in your way of productive sewing time. You may come with projects you need to complete or bring new projects you want to start. The only thing we don t do at this camp is spend the night. If you need help in certain areas or some advice to spur you on in the right direction, this is the place to be. You may simply want to be left alone to do your own thing and that is OK too. Lunch and dinner are provided Friday and Saturday. Note: The class room has been reserved on Thursday, March 28 and Thursday, May 30 so that campers can arrive early, set-up and sew all day if they choose.

2 January Classes Basic Quiltmaking Beginner Level This is a 3-part class Saturday, January 12, 26 and February 9, 10:00am 3:00pm Cost $65 # This class is designed for the person who knows nothing about quilting, yet also provides helpful hints and tips for those looking to improve their present skills. We start right at the beginning by looking at Fabrics, Color and Notions, then moving on to the correct usage of the rotary cutter, rulers and how to master that quarter-inch seam used in quilt making. You only need to know how to sew a straight stitch. The class specializes in individual attention and hands on training. Beginning Hand Embroidery Friday, January 18, 1:00pm 4:00pm Cost: $10 # Would you like to learn the art of Hand Embroidery? In this beginning class we will start with the basic stitches; back stitch, running stitch, chain / lazy daisy, French knots and the fern stitch. A Pattern will be provided with this class. Beginning Hand Piecing Instructor: Gigi McEver Tuesday, January 22, 2019, 9:30am 12:00pm Cost: $25 # Before we had sewing machines, we just used a needle & thread. While I don't plan to ditch my sewing machine, I do still love to hand piece. It's quiet. It's portable. It allows wandering thoughts. It encourages conversation. It's so very relaxing. Come learn a few basics with the classic ninepatch block. You'll learn how to piece straight seams and match points. Trust me, it's much easier to match points using a needle & thread than it is with a sewing machine. Hope to see you!

3 February Classes Paper Piecing Class Instructor: Andrea Stallings Saturday, February 2, 10:00am 3:00pm Cost: $25 # Have you heard the term machine paper piecing and wondered exactly what it was? Have you seen those numbered patterns in books or magazines and wondered how to use them? Have you seen the perfect quilt resulting from machine paper piecing and wondered if you could do that? Then this class is for you! This class will teach you how to paper piece and ensure that points are always perfect! Beginner Hand Appliqué Instructor: Dianne Lee Thursday, February 7, 9:30am 12:30pm Cost: $35 # Dianne Lee (Appliqué Addict) will share her love of this fine hand needlework technique. She will share how to select fabrics to create texture & eyecatching visual interest, and how to layer pieces to reduce bulk. In the class, you will learn how to make thin stems, smooth curves, sharp points, and circles and V s. By the end of class, you will be looking for items to appliqué! This class is a great way to use up scraps and Charm Squares Bias Binding II / Intermediate Instructor: Gigi McEver Friday, February 8, 2019, 9:30 am to 12:30 pm Cost: $20 # Do you cringe at the thought of making a bias binding? Well, cringe no more. In this class you'll learn how to make a "continuous" bias binding. It's really quite simple. Bias bindings are perfect for curved edges and a bias stripe makes a dramatic finish to many quilts. You'll make a "practice" binding out of a fat quarter. There should also be time to make the binding of your choice for your next quilting project. Hope to see you!

4 Hand Quilting Workshop Come and Go Instructors: Sandy Clapp and Gigi McEver Tuesday, February 12, 2019, 10:00 am to 12:00 pm Free demo # It seems we live in a hurry up, get it done world. Sometimes it is good to just sit back and enjoy the journey. Hand quilting is a time-honored skill that allows you to de-stress, go with the flow of the needle and create something of lasting beauty. Machine quilting is beautiful and has its place, but if you have wanted to give hand quilting a try, join Gigi and Sandy for a come and go, hands-on experience with hand quilting. We will have supplies for you to use to give hand quilting a try, will answer questions, and discuss techniques and supplies. Come when you can and stay as long as you want. You can also bring your own project and just join us for quilting and conversation. Hand Embroidery II Crazy Patch Blocks II / Intermediate Friday, February 15, 1:00pm 4:00pm Cost $20 # In this next step hand embroidery class will focus on the Crazy Patch Block by learning these stitches; Blanket Stitch, Feather Stitch, Chevron, Drizzle Stitch and Bullion. Mamma Llama II / Intermediate Instructor: Jill Banta Thursday, February 28, 10:00am 4:00pm Cost $35 # Who doesn t love a llama, especially a Mama Llama. This is a great class to get creative. Go on the wild side and design a wall hanging for yourself or a friend with these adorable Mama and Baby llamas.

5 March Classes Basic Quiltmaking 201 On Point Table Runner Level Beginner II pre-req Basic Quiltmaking 3 Part Class Saturday, March 2, 9 and 23, 12:30pm 3:30pm Cost $40 # In this next step class, the focus is on three different blocks, the Ohio Star, the Sawtooth Star and the Dancing Bear - in an on-point setting. Learn to calculate yardage for on-point quilts, preparing your project for quilting and simple straight-line quilting. Beginning Sewing & Smocking 2 Part Class Level Beginner Instructor: Mary Edwards Monday, March 11 and Monday April 8, 10:00am 4:00pm Cost $20 # Learn smocking and French seaming as you sew a beautiful nightgown. You will learn basic machine and hand sewing in this class. So if you have wanted to learn to sew, this is the class for you! Decorate a T-Towel II Instructor: Gigi McEver Friday, March 8, 10:00am 12:00pm Cost $10 # My favorite gift to make is a trimmed tea towel. It's really quite easy and the recipients enjoy something practical and personalized. You'll learn how to prep your towels and fabrics and get pointers on assembly. We'll also brainstorm on ways to personalize your towels. IMPORTANT: You will need to pre-wash your fabric and towel before class.

6 Artsy Bowlie Class II - Intermediate Instructor: Kathy Spivey Tuesday, March 12, 1:00pm 4:30pm Cost $25 # Bowlies are 3-dimensional and are as unique as they are functional. With a piece of heavy interfacing, fabric scraps, and a sewing machine, you will create a wonderful artistic bowl to use for utility or decor. The pattern provides for a variety of sizes, shapes and application styles. We will be making an 8 diameter, 2½ tall bowl with a beautiful applique flower in the bottom. In addition, you will learn a little bit of everything including how to draw circle, sew darts, sewing on 3- dimensional objects, applique and simple binding. Come enjoy and let your inner artist have some fun! 7 Machine Applique Instructor: Mauri Richey Monday, April 1, 9:30am 12:30pm Cost $25 # Machine appliqué opens a whole new world of variety and creativity and is another technique to add to your skills. Mauri will teach you her favorite method raw edge fusible appliqué. Other methods of machine appliqué will be discussed but the emphasis will be on learning the Blanket Stitch and straight-line edge stitch. This is a technique class we will spend the class time practicing the stitches on various shapes. Quilt Binding by Machine - Start to Finish Instructor: Mauri Richey Monday, April 1, 1:30pm 4:30pm Cost $25 # What s the first part of a much-used quilt to wear out? The binding, of course! While hand finished bindings are lovely and a must for heirlooms and quilt shows, they aren t very practical for utility quilts and quilts for kids. I can bind a queen size quilt in about 2 hours and so can you! Come learn my techniques and soon you ll have professional-looking and durable bindings in a fraction of the time it takes to hand stitch one. This class is the perfect follow up to Basic Quiltmaking. Crazy Patch Santa II / Intermediate This is a three-part class Fridays, April 12, Apr 19 and May 10, 12:30pm 3:30pm Cost $50 # This Old-World Santa will be around for many years to treasure. We will cover coloring, creating a crazy patchwork robe, embellishment stitches, beading and making a fury beard from several different techniques.

8 May Classes My Favorite Earrings II Instructor Jill Banta Thursday, May 16, 10:00am 4:00pm Cost $35 # According to the ladies of Steel Magnolias, the only difference in animals and humans is the ability to accessorize. Not so with this whimsical giraffe pattern with lovely butterfly earrings. The Giraffe is full size and allows you to let your creative juices flow. With lots of choices for finishing, including free motion quilting, stitch by hand, blanket stitch, satin stitch or use any combination. Regardless, you will have so much fun in this class as Jill walks you through the process of embellishing your new best friend. Crazy for Applique Clubs and Sew Days All skill levels 4 sessions with Dianne Lee free to anyone who wants to join Are you crazy for Hand Applique? Pick a project or bring one you are currently indulging in and come join this fun group. Dianne shares tips and techniques to help you overcome any fear you might be having with curves and points. Thursdays, 10:00am 12:30pm January 17, February 21, March 21, April 18 and May 23 By Hand With Love Level: All levels 4 session with Gigi McEver- free to anyone who wants to join Thursdays, 1:00pm 4:00pm January 17, February 21, March 21 and April 18 and May 23 Attention handwork aficionados! Come join us for three glorious hours of hand sewing. Bring your current project or come plan a new one. We ll share tips on techniques, tools, fabric, patterns and whatever else comes up in conversation. Best of all, we can spend some uninterrupted time with other handwork lovers. We hope you ll join us!

9 Knoty Witches Stitchery Group Level: All levels 4 session with Elaine Harrison- free to anyone who wants to join Tuesdays, 9:30 am 12:00 pm January 15, February 19, March 19, April 16 and May 21 This new stitching group is a combination of the Salem Witches Stitching Guild and the Knoty girls. Embroidery is popular again and there are so many ways to display your handiwork and so many wonderful images and patterns to stitch. Come join our stitchery group. We meet once a month there is always something to learn and share with each other. Wool Crazy Club Level: All levels 4 session with Toni Owens- free to anyone who wants to join Tuesdays, 1:00pm 4:00pm January 15, February 19, March 19, April 16 and May 21 Continue in the journey of Wool Appliqué and Embroidery. If you are interested in Crazy Patch Quilts, Folk-art appliqué, embellishing with embroidery stitches or just learning to work with wool, this class is for you. You choose your project or design your own crazy patch quilt. Wool and patterns are available to help give you ideas for your wool project. We meet once each month to work on our projects, share stories, stitches, thread and wools. Sit n Sew Level: All levels Free to anyone who wants to use the classroom to sit and sew. We love our Wednesdays and Thursdays and we love having our customers come sit and sew. You will be amazed at how many projects you can complete in just a matter of weeks. Our goal is to provide a place for our customers to have space to spread out their projects, get guidance if needed, have comfortable surroundings and make lots of new friends. 10 Monty Nabors Scissor Sharpening Monte Nabors will be here one day for scissor sharpening. There is nothing more frustrating than to have scissors or knives that do not work properly. Take the time to evaluate your equipment and make sure you mark your calendar for scissor sharpening day. If the date listed is not convenient for you, drop off, and pick up the items that need to be sharpened at your convenience. Pre-payment is required if you are not able to pick them up on the day of sharpening!
