2 REGISTRATION INFORMATION Registra)on Enrollments will con.nue to be accepted on site un.l classes begin (with the instructor s approval and subject to availability of space and materials.) However, class sizes are limited, so register early to ensure your selec.on. Complete ONE FORM PER STUDENT and submit with a check for payment. Forms received before September 15th will be given priority. Once registra.on in class has been confirmed, you may not change to another class. Registra.on is complete upon payment. State your first and second choices on your applica.on. Only list classes you are willing to take. Failure to list class choices may result in an administra.ve processing fee being charged to any refund should your class/es be cancelled. Should the instructor cancel your class, your second choice will be honored. Price is $55-$75 per class as shown in the catalog. All classes include lunch break; full day classes begin at 9:00 AM, half day classes begin at Cancella)on A processing fee of $15 for one class or $25 for two classes will be deducted from all registra.on refunds. 3 Toni Best Thursday Class - $75 Teneriffe Gourd Basket The student will learn how to create a teneriffe ring utilizing the double button hole stitch. They will then coil two rows of pine needles on the prepared gourd and attach the ring. A roof of two layers of pine needles will complete the piece. All materials are provided by the teacher. Students may want to bring an apron and sharp scissors.

4 Robin Bryson Thursday Class - $75 Delicate Filigree Star Fish The student will create a wonderfully carved star fish out of a cannon ball gourd, accented with filigree around it. Gives the gourd the illusion of depth without carving deep. Supplies required of student: bring a carver with Dremel bits #116 inverted cone (Speed Cutter) and #110 small inverted cone (engraving cutter), fine files, dusk mask and eye protection.

5 Jody Dingivan Thursday Half-day Class - $55 Wood Burned & Painted Gourd in a Circular Pendant Frame The student will learn how to cut a gourd piece to fit a circular coin-sized necklace frame. Each student will make two pendants using a wood burning tool and paints: one pendant with a landscape design and the other with a zen doodle type design. Note: this is a 4-hour class. Supplies required of student: carver and filigree burr and a wood burner with skew tip.

6 Patti Jo Newsom Thursday Class - $75 The Tree of Life In this class our focus will be to create a beautiful Tree of Life in a gourd using peridot gem chip beads and wire. As a finishing touch we will learn to inlay ground leather cord around the design. Students will receive a craft ready gourd and all of the supplies needed to complete the project with the exception of the supplies listed below. Supplies required of student: Rotary tool and bits*; a small jigsaw (like Proxxon), mini jigsaw (like Micro Mark) or small hand saw; medium size detail paint brushes; heat gun; eye protection (eyeglasses or safety glasses ); and a dust mask. Optional: a hands-free magnifier for help with beading. *If your burrs work for the project, okay. Otherwise the instructor will have appropriate burrs for sale ($6 ea. 7 Toni Best Friday Class - $75 Driftwood Gourd Basket The student will learn how to coil two-three rows of pine needles on the prepared gourd. After completing several rows, students will create Floating Coils to capture the driftwood on the pine needles. It will take several rows to make the driftwood secure on the piece All materials are provided by the teacher. Students may want to bring an apron and sharp scissors.

8 Robin Bryson Friday Class - $75 Pointillism (pen & ink dot) Wolf The student will create a unique and outstanding wolf done solely in dots and learn a technique of shading through dotting. This technique can be applied with other media. It is a very relaxing method. All required supplies will be provided by the instructor.

9 Jody Dingivan Friday Half-day Class - $55 Miniature Woven Bowls and Pitcher The student will learn to weave on a small jewelry gourd, paint on small jewelry gourd and cut a small gourd to make a pitcher. Note that this is a 4-hour class. All required supplies will be provided by the instructor, including five mini-gourds.

10 Patti Jo Newsom Friday Class - $75 Eggs-cellent Choice Carved Bowl In this class we will learn to use eggshells to create beautiful dyed mosaic-textured areas on our gourd bowl. We will also make cutout designs and learn to inlay round leather cord around the design areas Students will receive a craft ready gourd and all the supplies needed to complete the project, with the exception of the items listed below.
