Your actual entries are not due in until Wednesday and Thursday before fair opening. See dates and times below.) RULES 1. Entries must be the recent work of the exhibitor (within 5 years and not previously exhibited at the Wayne County Fair.) 2. Exhibitors must be residents of Wayne County. 3. EACH EXHIBITOR IS LIMITED TO 8 ENTRIES IN THIS DEPARTMENT. Each exhibitor will be limited to 1 entry in each classification. (Only 3 of the 8 entries can be in photography.) 4. Entries can be delivered to the member-in-charge at Buss Hall on Wednesday, September 9, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday, September 10, from 7:00 to 10:00 a.m. ENTRIES MUST BE DELIVERED NO LATER THAN 10:00 A.M., SEPTEMBER 10 NO EXCEPTIONS. ENTRY TAGS MUST BE ATTACHED TO ENTRIES. Exhibits must remain in place until 7:00 am, Friday, Sept. 18. Exhibits are to be picked up between 7 am and noon on Sept ORIGINAL WORK ONLY is eligible for premiums. (No Molds No Kits No Plastic Canvas). Copies or work that have been previously displayed at the Wayne County Fair will not be eligible for premiums. 6. The committee reserves the right to withhold awards if articles submitted are not judged to be of sufficiently high standards. Second, third, and honorable mention awards may be presented at the discretion of the judge, even though a first place is not awarded. 7. The committee will exercise due care, but will not be responsible for loss or damage of entries. Loitering in the building during judging and placement of displays will not be permitted. 8. The committee reserves the right to reject any article. 9. 8 INSTRUCTING FOR WIRING AND MOUNTING JUNIOR ARTWORK Wiring a Framed Piece If frame is wood, place eye screw in each side of the back of the frame, then string wire between the two (Fig. 1). If metal, you can purchase accessory that attaches to each side of back frame, then string wirer between the two. Find in craft stores. Mounting and Wiring an Unframed Piece You will need a mat and a backer board. These can be purchased or made out of light weight cardboard. You will also need wire and masking tape. First attach the artwork to the back side of the mat with tape (Fig. 2), then poke two holes in the backer board on either side, in from the edge 1-2 inches. Insert a metal paper fastener, wrap one end of the wire around each paper fastener (Fig. 3). You can then hinge backer board to the mat at top with masking tape (Fig. 4). Close the two together and if you wish, tack with double sided tape, glue, or sticky putty.
