I am so happy to share them with you! I opted not to do too much detail on the rose and candle designs as I wanted to capture the naivete of the originals. Note: When using dry brush (highlighters), pick up paint, take excess off on palette, then stipple on, making the first highlight the largest and getting a little smaller each time, leaving a halo of the last color showing around each successive color. I also used the dry brushes to add shadows, loading and taking out excess paint as above, and scrubbing the color onto the design. PREPARATION Sand, seal, and sand the basket. PAINTING INSTRUCTIONS Background Base Midnite Green. Wet surface; side-load 3/4" wash brush in Gold Media Fluid Acrylics, blend, and begin applying to bottom of basket, walking color up 1/2" to 2/3" of the way toward top; dry. Wet surface again and spray with Yellow Green Media Mister. Let this color run down, then flip the basket over, so it can run up as well, or even side-ways if you want; dry. At this point I decided this was brighter than I wanted, so I went over the whole area with Green Media Interference. If you like it brighter, leave it alone! Dry well. Again, dampen surface and, using fairly damp 3/4" brush, pick up Avocado and Antique Green in brush and begin laying in pine needles. This will be fairly dark, but will give you a good base to the branches. You can see this in the close-up pic. I didn't include a pattern for this as I just placed them under the main design area, going at least up to the bottom of the ornaments. Repeat, using just Antique Green in your brush; repeat, picking up Avocado Dip in dirty brush. You can add a bit more Avocado Dip to your dirty brush to accent a bit more, but don't let this get too bright. You don't want it to take over the design. Trace on pattern. Pine Branches Line in branch with liner and Dark Chocolate; pick up Burlap on dirty brush and add a hit-and-miss line at the top of each branch for highlight. Add pine 2 artistsclub.com

3 needles with liner and the following colors in the following order, beginning each stroke at the branch and pulling out: Antique Green, add Avocado Dip to dirty brush, add more Avocado Dip to dirty brush. This next step is done after the ornament hangers are finished, so you can pull some needles over them. Be sure to look at close-up pics as these needles are mostly at the bottoms of the branches and a few on top. These colors only go on the branches that hold the ornaments: Avocado Dip, Avocado Dip + Burlap, Margarita, Light Lime, a few Cotton Candy and Wisteria. Shade branches at top with Midnite Green. Red Ornament (on side of basket) Undercoat Dove Grey; base Red Alert. Using 1/2" highlighter to begin (see note above on using dry brush), then switch to smaller brush as necessary, add highlights with Scarlet; repeat, adding Spice Pink to dirty brush; repeat, adding Cotton Candy; repeat, using more Cotton Candy; repeat, adding Warm White. Add more Warm White to brightest highlights only. See note above about adding shading with dry brush. Begin shading with a brush-mix of Red Alert + Razzle Berry; repeat, adding Razzle Berry to dirty brush; repeat, adding Avocado to dirty brush and adding to darkest areas only. Design: Using #2 round brush paint on with Warm White, adding Dove Grey to dirty brush for strokes in shadow areas. Shade the band and strokes in shadow areas with Slate Grey; repeat, adding Neutral Grey to band only. Top: Base Dove Grey. Add highlights with Dove Grey + Warm White; repeat, adding more Warm White to dirty brush. Shade with Neutral Grey; repeat, using Zinc in darkest areas. artistsclub.com 3

4 Silver Ornaments Base Dove Grey. Add highlights as above using highlighter and the following colors in the following order, using a dirty brush thoughout: Dove Grey + Warm White; more Warm White. Brightest highlights are done by adding more Warm White to dirty brush. Add shadows as above, using the following colors in the following order: Slate Grey, Neutral Grey, Zinc, Zinc + Avocado (approx. 1:1). Thin Silver Extreme Sheen and wash over entire ornament. Rose Design: Using #10 shader, load in Spice Pink, side-load into Razzle Berry, blend, and add strokes, keeping Razzle Berry toward the bottoms of each stroke. You may want to do this step twice for better coverage. Shade inside the rose throat, at bottom, and the bottoms of each stroke with more Razzle Berry. Add leaves, doing two-stroke leaves with #2 round, with a mix of Antique Green + Avocado (approx. 1:1) on the brighter areas and just Avocado in the darker areas. Candle Design: Candles are Warm White; shade on left with Antique Green. Leaves are the same as on Rose Ornament. Candle flames and berries are Razzle Berry. Pink Ornaments Undercoat Dove Grey; base Spice Pink. Add highlights as above using highlighter and the following colors in the following order, using a dirty brush thoughout: Spice Pink + Cotton Candy, Cotton Candy, Warm White, Warm White; more Warm White on brightest highlights only. Add shadows as above, using the following colors in the following order: Spice Pink + Razzle Berry, Razzle Berry, Mulberry; add Avocado to dirty brush for darkest shadows. Pink Band on Right Ornament: is a wash of Spice Pink + Cotton Candy. White Design: Using #2 round brush paint on with Warm White, adding Dove Grey to dirty brush for strokes in shadow areas. Shade the band and strokes in shadow areas with Slate Grey; repeat, adding Neutral Grey to band only. Top: Undercoat Avocado Dip; base Gold Media Fluid Acrylics. Add highlights with Avocado Dip + Warm White. Shade with Dark Chocolate. 4 artistsclub.com

8 Lavender Ornament Base Wisteria; dry; wash over lightly with Cotton Candy. Add highlights as above using highlighter and the following colors in the following order, using a dirty brush thoughout: Wisteria + Cotton Candy, Cotton Candy, Warm White; add more Warm White to brightest highlights. Add shadows as above, using the following colors in the following order: Wisteria + Mulberry, Mulberry; add Avocado to dirty brush for darkest shadows. Wash over entire area, except highlights, with a thin wash of Mulberry. Snow: Base Warm White. Shade with Slate Grey; repeat, using Neutral Grey in darker areas. Do this next step after varnishing: First, cut a stencil of the snow area on a piece of tracing paper. Brush on a thin coat of varnish or glazing medium on snow only, lay stencil over, then sprinkle on Glamour Dust Glitter. Carefully remove stencil, lifting straight up. Roll tracing paper and put excess back in the bottle for next time! Top: Same as top on Red Ornament. Hangers Line in with Dove Grey. Add highlights by adding Warm White to dirty brush. Shadows and Neutral Grey, then Zinc in darker areas. colors to the tops, but don't overdo it. Add touches of Red Alert to branches and some ornaments. FINISHING Add reflected light to some of the ornaments with Avocado Dip. Add touches of Spice Pink and Wisteria to silver ornaments. Add touches of Wisteria to pink and red ornaments.
