Supplies: Deco Art Acrylic Sealer/Finisher Matte #70836 Sponge (optional) Preparation: There is no preparation necessary. The resin Angel comes ready to paint. Any slight imperfections can be lightly sanded, wipe with a damp cloth. Allow 2 to 3 coats of paint for a good coverage. Painting Instructions: The important instruction for me was to paint the hair first. I like to paint in the base color and when I wash a thin alternate color over it, I use a sponge to absorb the excess paint, leaving color in the crevices. Painting this first helps because I usually get the wash of color dripping down her face or my surface. Hair: Basecoat her hair Antique Gold. Repeat. Allow to dry. Wash Terra Cotta over her hair. While your paint is damp, sponge the excess off leaving color in the crevices. Allow to dry. Repeat this step, but use Burnt Sienna this time. Allow to dry. Dry brush Marigold over the curls. Pick up Warm 1

3 White with Marigold still in your brush and wisp lightly over the curls again. Face, Neck, and Hands: Basecoat Flesh Tone. Allow to dry and repeat as many times as necessary for a good coverage. Float Terra Cotta (thin) along her neckline, and in her eye sockets. I didn t shade any more of her face. It s so tiny, that it begins to look dirty to me. Float Terra Cotta over her hands next to the sleeve, and also across her fingers. Wipe any excess off of her fingers leaving paint in between. Basecoat her eyes with Warm White. The pupils are Dark Chocolate with a tiny Warm White highlight dot. Her eyebrows are Dark Chocolate. Add a tiny Dark Chocolate line in the crease of her eyelid, and on the outside corner of each eye. Dry brush her cheeks, chin, forehead, tip of her nose, and the top of each hand with a mix of Flesh Tone plus a tiny amount of Boysenberry Pink. Her lips are this same color. Dress: Basecoat her dress Tomato Red. Repeat as needed. The trim on her sleeves, lower skirt, and neckline is Warm White. I didn t want any of this shaded either. I like the bright white against the red. Float Burgundy Wine around the neckline, the sleeve trim, and lower skirt next to the white trim. Under Skirt: Basecoat Plantation Pine. Repeat as needed. The stripes are Hauser Medium Green with Warm White striping on each side. Your # 8 or #10 brush is about the right size for the stripes. Design: Basecoat the candles Oyster Beige. Repeat as needed. Wash the lower area with thin Light Avocado. When dry, wash Driftwood over parts of the Light Avocado not covering it completely. Float Grey Storm (thin) in the deepest shading area. Paint Warm White on the tops of the candles, painting from the top down, and allowing the Oyster Beige to peek through. The center at the top of the candle (wick area) is Driftwood. Dry brush Tangelo Orange behind the flame area. Allow to dry. The flame is a stroke of Marigold. With Marigold still in your brush, sideload it in Moon Yellow, and float the left side of the flame. Spatter Warm White over the tops of the flames. The wick is Soft Black. Add a touch 2

4 of Tangelo Orange at the top of the wick. The drips on the candles are Warm White. Leaves: I like to use Hauser Medium Green, Plantation Pine, and Foliage Green. I paint the lighter shade leaves Foliage Green, shaded Hauser Medium Green, and highlighted Lemonade. The darker leaves are a mix of Hauser Medium Green plus a small amount of Plantation Pine. Shade Plantation Pine to Black Green. Highlight Foliage Green. The idea is to have a variation of greens. Lights and darks. When you have them painted, then sideload a small brush in Soft Back and touch the points of the leaves. Add a tiny hint of Soft Black on the shaded side of the veins for more contrast. The surrounding stroke leaves are Jade Green. Berries: Basecoat Alizarin Crimson. Shade Soft Black and add a Warm White highlight dot to each. Branch: Paint Sable Brown. Add some touches of Soft Black. Add highlights using Toffee. The branch doesn t show much, so just hints will do. Candle Cup: Basecoat Marigold. Wash the inside with Terra Cotta and wipe away any excess. Wash Tomato Red (thin) around the top of the candle cup. Allow some of your Marigold to show through. Detail: Add small Warm White stars randomly. Spatter the design, dress, and underskirt with Warm White. Wings: Basecoat the top area Oyster Beige. As you move down, pick up Warm White and paint to the tips. Repeat as needed. Allow to dry. Float Terra Cotta (thin) under the scallops and across the top of the wings. Float Warm White over the scallop area. Spatter lightly with Traditional Burnt Umber. Finishing: Spray several coats of Deco Art Sealer/Finisher over the Angel and wings. Allow to dry in between coats. 3
