6 Geeral iformatio Proper use The PARAKO software of KOSTAL Solar Electric GmbH is a free parameterisatio software for PIKO iverters. Parameters of the PIKO iverter prescribed by the grid operator ca be set with the software. It is ot permitted to adjust settigs o the iverters of exteral providers with the software. Parameters may oly be chaged o the iverter by qualiied electrical techicias who are familiar with the system ad at the request of the grid operator. Please always be sure to use the most recet versio of the software. Iappropriate settigs ca be hazardous ad lead to ijury or eve death of the user or third parties. Material damage to the device ad other equipmet ca also occur. 6

This maual is part of the software ad applies exclusively to the PARAKO parameterisatio software from KOSTAL Solar Electric GmbH. The maual for the PARAKO parameterisatio software is a step-by-step maual. We recommed that you prit this maual ad carry out the iverter parameterisatio step-by-step with the pritout at had. 17 The program 2.1 Preparatory work Before you ca use the PARAKO parameterisatio software, perform the followig steps: Request a password from Service. Keep the address ad the poits of cotact perso at the eergy provider ad the system operator at the ready. Set up the iverter for parameterisatio. Requestig a password Access to the parameter settigs is protected by a persoalised password for istallers. You must request a password from Service. To do so, proceed as follows: Prit out the documet "Registratio for PARAKO password" Æ Ch. 5.1 or go to our homepage for KOSTAL Solar Electric ( de) uder "Products & Service > "Service area icl. FAQ" > "Request PARAKO password" ad call up the registratio form. This step is oly ecessary whe a commuicatio lik with the iverter has ot yet bee established or settigs are carried out o the grid ad system protectio. Do ot give the password to third parties. You, both as a perso ad specialist compay, will be held liable if the parameterisatio tool is misused ad the password disclosed. Fill out the etire documet. Sed the siged documet by fax or to Support. You will receive your password via , together with a lik to dowload the PARAKO software. 17

18 The program Cofigurig the iverter for parameterisatio If a commuicatio lik to the iverter is t yet i place (Etheret etwork or RS485), coect the iverter ad PC via a local etwork (switch ad Etheret cable), directly via a crossover cable or via a Etheret cable (commuicatio board II oly). A coectio via the RS485 iterface is possible as a alterative. If there is already a commuicatio coectio to the iverter, this poit ca be skipped. Whe workig o the iverter or the feed cables, the iverter must be completely de-eergised. It is imperative that these steps are carried out: 1. Tur the DC switch o the iverter to OFF. 2. Switch of the AC lie circuit breaker. 3. Switch of the power supply for the S0/AL-Out output (if preset). DANGER RISK OF DEATH DUE TO ELECTRI- CAL SHOCK AND DISCHARGE! De-eergise the device, secure it agaist beig restarted ad wait ive miutes so that the capacitors ca discharge. 4. Secure the etire voltage supply agaist beig restarted. 5. Discoect all DC coectios o the iverter. To this purpose, use the disassembly tool of the plug maufacturer. Press the egagig clips together ad pull the plug. 6. Wait ive miutes util the capacitors of the iverter have discharged. Allow the device to cool dow. This step is oly ecessary whe a commuicatio lik with the iverter has ot yet bee established or settigs are carried out o the grid ad system protectio. 7. Esure that all coectios are voltage-free. P The iverter is ow voltage-free. 8. Uscrew the iverter cover. 18

If a commuicatio lik to the iverter is't yet i place (Etheret etwork or RS485), coect the iverter ad PC via a local etwork (switch ad Etheret cable), directly via a crossover cable or via a Etheret cable (commuicatio board II oly). A coectio via the RS485 iterface is possible as a alterative. 10. Screw the cover oto the iverter. 11. Activate grid voltage via the lie circuit breaker. 12. Switch the DC switch o the iverter to ON. Whe exteral DC voltage separators are preset, activate the DC strigs cosecutively. P The iverter starts up. P Durig start-up, the three LEDs i the cotrol pael of the iverter will light up briely. The iverter ca ow be operated. P The screesaver appears i the display ad displays the device type. The screesaver is deactivated whe a key is pressed twice. H The iverter is ready to operate ad ca ow be coigured with the parameterisatio software. Whe o key has bee pressed for several miutes, the screesaver with the image of the iverter appears automatically o the display. The iverter must be supplied with AC as well as DC voltage so that a parameterisatio ca be performed. This also applies to readig the curret settigs. 19

20 The program 2.2 Istallatio The parameterisatio software PARAKO 5.6 must be istalled o a PC with the Widows operatig system. You ca also dowload PARAKO software from the KOSTAL Solar Electric website ( uder "Dowload" > "Service". The followig systems are supported: Widows 7 / 8 / 10 Istall the software o your Widows system. Please ote the limitatios of liability relatig to usage of the software whe istallig. 20

21 The program 2.3 Fuctios The PARAKO parameterisatio software comprises the followig fuctios: Coigurig the iverter for reactive power output. Coigurig iverters for operatio with a ripple cotrol receiver if the grid operator demads separate speciicatios for cotrollig active ad reactive power. Limitatio of the maximum AC active power or AC apparet power. Settig 0% feed-i The available optios for chages ad settigs deped o the selected coutry settig of the iverter. The software is largely self-explaatory. The idividual screes cotai additioal texts that provide support for operatig the device. The iput screes are show as examples. All relevat cotrols ad iformatio are available. Chagig the grid ad system protectio, e.g. the lower ad upper grid voltage limit, miimum ad maximum frequecy, reactivatio time. This fuctio ca be used to limit the power output of the iverter, for example, to 60% or 70% of the istalled PV power. This is required, for example, by the Reewable Eergies Act (EEG) or the KfW fudig guidelies for storage systems. For "zero feed-i", the active power or apparet power is to be set to 0W. 21

Select laguage 2. Coirm dager otice ad exclusio of liability by eterig "YES" i the iput ield. 3. Establish the coectio to the iverter. There are two possibilities for coectio: TCP/IP (Etheret): Eter the ame of the iverter, host ame, IP address or serial umber (e.g. s90342abc0000x) of the iverter. RS485: Select the COM port of the RS485 iterface. 4. Eter the system data Eter the data of the istaller, the grid operator ad the locatio of the system. H Geeral settigs have bee etered. Followig speciicatio of the geeral settigs, the settigs of the iverter ca be chaged or the curret settigs of the iverter displayed, prited or tested. The bus address is usually set to 255 as default for both coectio possibilities. The bus addresses ca be chaged via the web server of the iverter. The system data is adopted by the protocol. The iverter data is automatically iserted ito the protocol. The protocol is required by some grid operators for commissioig the PV system ad must be siged by the istaller ad system operator. 27

The grid operator speciies at which sigal the iverter must produce which active power ad which reactive power. The reactive power speciicatio must irst be set up whe settig up the limitatio of the apparet power. 2. Eter the correspodig value. Use the calculator to calculate the limitatio. 3. Accept the value by pressig the "Accept" butto. H The settigs will be adopted. Power reductio at overvoltage / overfrequecy 1. I order to set the power reductio, activate the butto or P The Coiguratio of power reductio widow opes. 2. Eter the correspodig value. Depedig o the type of iverter ad coutrie, it is possible to set the Coiguratio of power reductio at overvoltage P(U) or overfrequecy P(f). I this case, eter the correspodig values. 3. 35 Settig the parameters 3.4 Grid ad system protectio The settigs for the grid ad system protectio may oly be chaged i exceptioal cases for good reaso ad i cosultatio with the grid operator (eergy supply compay). I the case of iverters of the ew geeratio, the followig parameters are available: I the case of iverters of the prove geeratio, the old set of parameters is automatically saved whe chages are made. This ca the be loaded at a later poit i time with the "Restore parameters" fuctio. Voltage L-N: Max./Mi./10-miute average value Frequecy: Max./Mi. Start up voltage L-N: Max./Mi. Start up frequecy: Max./Mi. Start-up waitig time Start-up waitig time: Grid error Parameters ca be added to or removed from the list with the "Expaded" butto. I the case of iverters of the prove geeratio, the followig parameters are available: Lower grid voltage limit ad switch-of time (up to 2 levels) Upper grid voltage limit ad switch-of time (up to 2 levels) 10-miute mea value of upper voltage limit Lower frequecy limit ad switch-of time (up to 2 levels) Upper frequecy limit ad switch-of time Restart time The parameters vary accordig to the selected coutry settig of the iverter. 35

It is imperative that these steps are carried out: 1. Switch the DC switch o the iverter to OFF. 2. Switch of the power supply for the S0/AL-Out output (if preset). DANGER RISK OF DEATH DUE TO ELECTRI- CAL SHOCK AND DISCHARGE! De-eergise all devices, secure them agaist beig restarted ad wait ive miutes so that the capacitors ca discharge. 3.
