3 Research Objective To develop a test bech for IEEE wireless data trasmissio which ca: 1. Trasmit data usig IEEE protocol. 2. Measure the curret cosumptio of the microcotroller ad the RF chip.

4 IEEE Why IEEE ? Desiged for low-data-rate, low-power-cosumptio, ad low-cost applicatios. The complexity of Bluetooth makes it expesive ad iappropriate for some simple applicatios requirig low cost ad low power cosumptio. Bluetooth also lacks flexibility i its topologies. Test bech to do a aalysis recetly drafted protocol.

22 Aalysis Average curret cosumptio readig ma Curret cosumptio of the ATmega128L at 3.3 V is approximately 4.5mA. Accordig to the CC242 data sheet, the maximum curret cosumptio while trasmittig data is 17.4mA. Results observed usig the coulomb couter is slightly less tha the theoretical result. If Mr. Neto s results are used as a referece, the Coulomb couter readig should be sum of 4.5mA ad 16.24mA, or 2.7mA which is very close to the results oted usig the Coulomb Couter.
