RISO has chsen t prduce its SF inks ut f a mre eclgically respnsible and under-utilized material: rice bran. While the ingredient itself is envirnmentally friendly, rice bran ink has prven t have even better archiving capabilities, by eliminating the yellw paper disclratin that can appear ver time. The new ink frmula and the SF s envirnmentally friendly features, such as its extremely lw energy cnsumptin, prvide an effective way t reduce carbn ftprint. 14 Every ink has an RF tag. This is a cmputer chip that tells the duplicatr infrmatin abut the ink including clr and prductin date. The ink is gd fr 24 mnths, when yu put a new ink in the machine it will read the cmputer chip n the RF tag and tell the duplicatr when the ink was made. At 24 mnths the user interface will alert the user when the ink is abut t expire r running lw.
