Directions for applying elastic Fold and press under 1 Lay elastic close to raw edge on both layers back stitch on beginning of elastic holding onto fabric behind presser foot pull the elastic and zig zag over the elastic to end of fabric(zig zagging over elastic is making a casing) Pull elastic to desired length Back stitch across end. Cut out hands boots and body piece(body piece can be made out of muslin).tear piece for apron and bonnet.measurement for apron and bonnet are on the back of the cover. mportant: This doll must be done in this order or you will not be able to dress her! t is very important to let the hot glue set or the doll will be unstable. Body.Leaving top open sew around body piece At corners place seams together like in photo and tie a piece of crochet thread around corners(1 in) and tie and knot 1. Turn and stuff very firm Hand gather top closed. Boots.Leaving top open sew around both boots twice (this make the seams stronger for stuffing firmly)clip at corner and turn.fill with 1 1 1/2 cup of sand each and then start putting in small amounts of stuffing making sure the toe is firm As you stuff up the leg of the boot push stuffing in firmly Cut 2 pieces of wire and bend both ends into a loop insert in back of boot and push one end to the bottom(you don t need to do the wire if your doll will be sitting)hand gather top of boot closed when you reach the top and then push top flat (see photo below) (be careful when stuffing that you do not push too hard and bust the seams) 1

Putting Body on legs after bloomers...(see photo above)apply glue to top of each leg (where you gathered it) Position and glue top of legs into the dents of body where you tied the corners Hold until set f you want her to tip to one side tip body in the direction you want and place some glue under that area and hold until set again (if the body wobbles too much add some glue around the edges until it is steady (This is where you will have problems if you didn t stuff the legs and body firm enough).pull bloomers up around doll. then put one toe of boot toward the side of other foot and hot glue together Doll stands better this way. Arms Turn and stuff arms firmly cut your wire 14 for arms and bend both ends into loops so they don t poke through fabric insert one end down one arm along bottom seam line Tie a piece of jute around top of arm and tie tight around wire Repeat for other arm..bend the center of wire into a slight curve and lie across 2

Shirt With rst sew shoulder seams press up bottom edge of each sleeve piece and apply elastic (you can hand gather after sewing if you want) Pull elastic at end until it measures 4...Sew across end of elastic With rst sew sleeves and side seams Clip 3

4 corners and turn Turn under neck edge and hand gather around neck edge Pull bloomer down and Put shirt on doll.

Doll Hair.Wrap yarn around 4 spread out fingers about 20 times Pull off fingers and tie a piece of yarn around one end of loops.cut the loops at other end and glue at knot to the top of her head Wrap the yarn around 3 fingers about 10 times Pull off fingers and tie in middle of clump cut loops on both ends and glue this clump to the center of her head for bangs then give her a haircut and layer her hair go for the messy look! (photo s on page 5). This is your basic doll and all future patterns will have the same basic body so you can just make new clothes for her. Witch Apron Tear a piece 29 x 7 On one long edge press under 1 and apply elastic Pull elastic at end until piece measures about 7 before sewing across end Hem both ends and bottom hem Tear 2 pieces 1 x 7 and sew one piece to each side of apron next to the elastic (this will be the tie s) Wrap this around doll and tie the ties Tear two strips 1 x 5 Hem for sides of strips so piece is about ½ wide Position the shoulder strap from front to back and pin in place Remove apron and sew across ends of straps on both ends Cut or tear 2 patches for witch apron and sew on front with one big button Either sew ribbon ties to the back of the apron (about 6 each)or tear 2 strips of fabric 1 x 6 and sew one end of each to the elastic line in back. 4

glue a Magnet to the back of dolls head at bottom of head Put hat on doll and mark the spots the hat meets the magnet on the top of the head and the bottom of the head Glue on a steel

Flower and broom Take a silk flower and wrap some small jute around stem where you want the witch to hold it Glue some Spanish moss and make a bow out of paper twist or any ribbon Bend

( behind the bow and moss so it doesn t show) Use 8 of ¼ bamboo or a piece of dowel for the handle of the broom Take a small bunch of Raffia and shed with a wire brush ( use a cat brush

11 5 Witches hat.cut hat top out of felt Cut the brim for hat 2 x22 Gather one long edge of strip until it fits across bottom of hat top adjust gathers and sew across going through both layers.fold RST and sew long seam through brim and to top of hat Cut a piece of wire 10 long Bend loops in both ends nsert one end up into hat cut a little piece of felt and hot glue over bottom end of wire to stay secure.glue a Magnet to the back of dolls head at bottom of head Put hat on doll and mark the spots the hat meets the magnet on the top of the head and the bottom of the head Glue on a steel nut in both places. Flower and broom Take a silk flower and wrap some small jute around stem where you want the witch to hold it Glue some Spanish moss and make a bow out of paper twist or any ribbon Bend one of her arms in and position the flower in her arm Glue a magnet in the bend of her arm (photo above)and match a place on the flower to glue the steel nut to.( behind the bow and moss so it doesn t show) Use 8 of ¼ bamboo or a piece of dowel for the handle of the broom Take a small bunch of Raffia and shed with a wire brush ( use a cat brush clean of course!)take the long strands and wrap around a 4 fingers spread When you have the thickness you want tie either jute or some paper twist etc around one end of the clump and then clip the other loops and mess up a bit somewhere down on the handle wrap some jute and tie tight on the backside on top of the jute is where you will put the steel washer or nut.(make sure you put it high enough so the broom stays up and does not fall over.)you will need a magnet on her other hand to hold the broom if you are not making these to change items attach with needle and crochet thread inserting your needle from front to back of hand incasing the handle do one just above the first one.you could also glue this on hand. 5

6 Hair bow and misc Tear 2 pieces of 4 x 2 ½ for bows With RST sew around piece leaving a 2 space open on one long edge so you can turn Turn and press Hand pinch in the center of this piece and tie a

f you want a flower in her hair glue a small flower in front of the bow it will also help hide the tack Put a magnet on front of hand and Glue a steel nut to the back of pumpkin and attach to magnet.

12 6 Hair bow and misc Tear 2 pieces of 4 x 2 ½ for bows With RST sew around piece leaving a 2 space open on one long edge so you can turn Turn and press Hand pinch in the center of this piece and tie a piece of jute around middle tight Glue a metal tack or steel washer at bottom of bow if you want to be able to change bows..place bow on magnet.f you want a flower in her hair glue a small flower in front of the bow it will also help hide the tack Put a magnet on front of hand and Glue a steel nut to the back of pumpkin and attach to magnet. Shoe Strings You can mark dots on your boots with a white chalk pencil if it would be easier to follow.
