Conner St., Noblesville, IN March 13, 2012 Save cash on your trip to spend at quilt show There are many good reasons to go to the International Quilt Show in Cincinnati. Here are three for taking the bus with us on April 14. You don t have to drive. You don t have to find a place to park. We ve got fun planned along the way. But don t let that April 14 date lull you into waiting. If you want to get in on our all-inclusive package, you need to sign up now. Reservations are due March 26 to take advantage of our full package (roundtrip transportation on a motor coach, show admission, a light breakfast, snacks along the way, and the driver's tip). The Early Bird cost is $ After March 26, you'll have to buy your own show ticket, which is $10. In addition, our Early Bird price ends April 1. After that date, the package is $73.95, plus admission. Call the shop ( ) or see any sales specialist in the shop to make a reservation. The bus will leave from Always In Stitches at 7 a.m. and return around 9 p.m., after an on-yourown dinner stop. In her first post, for instance, she shared directions for making a handy changing pad that can be a wonderful baby shower gift. You ve got to see the polka dot embellishment she used to make it as good-looking as it is functional. Become part of the dialogue, too. 2 Take 5 quilting patterns perfect for beginners Teacher s Pet describes Kathy Brown s Take 5 quilting patterns as the relax-and-have-fun way to create visually stunning quilts. Several of those quilts are on display in the center of the shop, part of the Take 5 Trunk Show that continues through March 29. Kathy has 15 designs that are perfect for beginners; her Take 5 Quilts from just 5 Fabrics book says an experienced quilter can finish a lap quilt in a day. The design of the completed quilts look complex but making them is uncomplicated. To be ready to sew, you choose five fabrics (takes only 5 minutes) and cut them all at the same time. The Take 5 book has instructions for 15 projects. Cross-stitch supplies arriving weekly in shop The selection is growing almost daily in the crossstitch department. We ve already added some Victoria Sampler kits, aida cloth in various colors, Kreinik metallic floss, and Mill Hill beads and kits, which include two needles. Gentle Arts floss is on its way to the shop. The floss and beads, by the way, can also be used in quilting and other projects. Also coming soon: A wide variety of Dill Buttons and wet felting supplies. Not bigger, just so much better You ll think we ve expanded when you see the back of the shop, but it s really just a face-lift. The area has been reconfigured, giving yarn, the cutting table and the HandiQuilter a more open space. Find lots of room now to browse, chat and dream. Your sewing brings comfort Our wonderful customers were very generous with their time and talent in February. Nearly 90 items were donated for people who need them. Here s the February honor roll; if no name is listed, the items were given anonymously: 16 blankets to Good Samaritan; seven done by Barbara Baldwin. 5 scarves. 6 fleece blankets from Brownie Troop hats handmade by Vicki Butterfield and her daughter, Elizabeth. 12 blankets to the Linus Project. 12 pillowcases for ConKerr Cancer. 6 cell phones for Prevail. Due to a terrific response, we continue to collect shoes for Soles4Souls, a program that repairs old shoes and has sent more than 17 million pairs throughout the United States and around the world in response to disasters or poverty. Nothing goes to waste, so single shoes and ones that seem completely useless are welcome, as well. Materials from shoes that can t be worn are recycled. Cash donations to help cover shipping costs also are welcome. Soles4Souls suggests $2/pair. Remember the food drive that was part of our Soup-er Bowl sale? We ve learned that it weighed 480 pounds. Hamilton County Harvest Food Bank supports more than 15 pantries in the county, giving each 500 pounds of food monthly.

There will be door prizes, and fun fellowship. The $15 participation fee is due when you register; we appreciate you using our products during this event. Was it Miss Scarlet with the needle in the sewing room? Mystery lovers aren t just found in bookstores or playing Clue. Quilters love a good mystery, too. Sales specialist Linda Swickard is one of those. She s designed City Streets and Traffic Jams as a mystery quilt BOM exclusively for Always In Stitches customers. Participants will get clues as information and directions each month. They will choose their own fabrics, based on the suggested colorways. No one, though, will know where these City Streets are going when they set out on May 21 until they maneuver the Traffic Jams and arrive at the reveal party where each quilt will be shown on Nov. 30. Registration is $10 and includes all of the patterns needed, which will be available the 21 st of each month. The finished quilt will measure 60-by-60 without a border, 70-by-70 with a border. Love the antique quilts; did you send them? A box of antique quilts and a beautiful crocheted bedspread was brought to the shop recently, and in the rush of helping customers with sales we didn t get the donor s name. We want to display the quilts, letting others know who made or provided them. Please call or tell a sales specialist if you were the kind donor. No blarney here: 17 fat quarters, $25 You ll be dancing a jig at the money saved and the fat quarters you can add to your stash thanks to our St. Patrick s Day sale. On March 16 and 17, you can buy 17 fat quarters for $25. Bible study on James begins March 20 Learn to put your faith into action through Beth Moore s eight-week Bible study, James: Mercy Triumphs. The brother of Jesus started out as a skeptic but one glimpse of the resurrected Savior turned James the unbeliever into a disciple, says the LifeWay website about the book. The 10:30-12:30 sessions begin March 20; Susan Crandall will lead the study. There is no charge to participate in the Bible study, but seats are limited. The book will be available in the shop for $ New Saturday hours Shoppers told us that our experiment with new Saturday hours didn t suit your schedules, so we ve returned to being open from 10 to 5 Saturdays, the same hours we re open Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. We ll also continue to be open 10 to 8 Tuesdays and Thursdays.
