There is so much to add, describe, show but once again I have run out of room (and time). This is a chronic problem, so we have decided to add monthly news s, and maintain frequent posts on Facebook. I heard that all of the youth went to instagram because the parents found Facebook. That s OK. I like sharing pics of customer quilts, videos, specials and announcements on Facebook and it s a great opportunity to stay in touch. We have been posting lots of quick videos featuring new notions and techniques. We also have more classes we will be scheduling, including another Chenille Class and another Collage class. We are adding more Machine Embroidery classes since the Embroidery Club and Embroidery BOM filled up so quickly. The best way to find out about these is on Facebook. But again, we are adding an once a month with monthly features, coupons and announcements, so watch for that. New this Spring: we are offering a video series on long arm quilting. This is applicable to any long arm machine you have at home. Model is irrelevant. Cindi will teach quilt planning, design, batting and thread decision making, stencils, line/ruler work, marking, free motion designs, meandering, feathers, troubleshooting and border options. The 6 course series includes a pdf download and all videos sent to your inbox for viewing as often as you would like, all for only $40. If you do not have a long arm available, see page 2 for details regarding quilting on your home machine. Either way time to get those quilt tops finished. We want to see them!! So take a few minutes to look through the newsletter. I think there s something for everyone, but hurry, because several classes have only a few spots left! All unique, all pre-fused and laser cut, ready for you to simply place and press. The blocks are only $5 each, they include all of the fabric! Background, sashing, and fused block pieces. You can pick up one a week, or, we will send you 5 per month. You get to decide! Act quick! Limited kits available. This quilt will be in the shop in April (no exact date yet) for just one week. We will offer a construction class (both weekend and weekday) for those that signed up for the blocks. Just wait until you see this quilt up close.

2 Machine Quilting There are several options for finishing your quilt top: hand quilting, tying, stitching in the ditch, paying a long armer, long arming it yourself, or of course machine quilting it on your domestic machine. Bring your machine to this class, Cindi will teach you the basics of machine quilting. Fabric, batting, thread and even a new needle is provided. You will have hands on practice, and leave feeling comfortable and confident with your new skill. Or, if you want to stay for the second session we will show you how to take it to the next level, using templates and rulers to create the perfect quilt block. Expertly quilted, with ease and precision. Class is offered on Wednesday, March 21st, or Saturday, June 30th. Only $24. Six patterns. All strip pieced. Learn new techniques. 110 x 110 Patterns provided $14/class Taught by Carolyn Beginning Quilt Class: The Progressive Quilt The Progressive Quilt pattern is a perfect 14 lesson packet that includes charts, bonus quilt patterns and technique information perfect for every beginner. Each lesson is a one-on-one class at your convenience. Only $30 for all 28 patterns and all 14 classes. The perfect beginning quilting class! Kits available. This quilt is an interesting 7 month series. Every month you receive a full sized quilt pattern, but make just the number of required blocks for the king sized quilt (you can always make a second or third quilt with the provided pattern if you need one). After stitching a different block every month for six months, you have one last full day class to put the entire quilt together. This gorgeous quilt is made from two jelly rolls and 6 1/2 yards of background. The Saturday class and the Monday class both filled up at the Spring BOM Open House, there are 6 spots left in the Tuesday evening class starting next month. Travel Bag Class!! This is a series of classes. One pattern featured every month for twelve months. Take all 12 classes, just one class, or pick and choose. But every 4th class is free!! These are all byannie patterns, all very well constructed with excellent classroom assistance to teach you the basics (and beyond) of bag construction. You ll learn about zippers, bindings, linings, mesh and more. The patterns for all twelve featured bags are at the shop, stop in to get more information and see which classes are most appealing for your organizational, travel and gift giving needs! Each bag class is offered twice a month. On the second Tuesday from or the second Saturday from 11-1pm. Class is just $10. Pattern and machine is required. Space is limited to 8 participants/class. We suggest you come with your pieces cut out to fully participate.

3 is a beautiful hand embroidery project that measures 20 x 20 when completed. This was the first class to fill up at our Spring Open House! We quickly added two more class opportunities so you have a chance to make an heirloom project - one small step at a time. You can attend a Tuesday evening class or a Friday afternoon class. You have your choice of 3 patterns, each one has stitch combinations consisting of just 8 stitches!! You learn one stitch a month for 8 months. Filling in that stitch as you go. In no time at all, you will have a gorgeous work of art perfect for framing. We opted for white and cream threads on linen fabric, as designed by Karen Phillips, but other options will be discussed in the first class. Class includes pattern of choice, stitch journal, starter stitch pack and all 8 classes. Just $80. This series is perfect for the beginner, the intermediate and the expert. Join us! 4 April 2018 Sue Spargo Trunk Show We are so excited to host a three day, two project, all inclusive retreat featuring Sue Spargo!! Sue is my favorite designer. She will be here to teach a Cana Blossom Pin Keep and the Flower and Vase on April 5th, 6th and 7th, She will stay with us out at the Retreat Center and host a special trunk show for the public Friday night. There are 6 spots left in the trunk show/lecture on Friday night (April 6th). This is 4:30-6pm and includes light snacks and beverages for $35. This is such a fantastic opportunity for us to spend some quality time with a master stitcher! Flower Power Block of the Month This is our new Sue Spargo Series. Flower Power is her funky flowers that are ADDICTING to make! This is just a 5 month class. Every month features a different appliquéd flower, and a varied appliqué lesson. You can make your flower cotton, wool, or a mixture of both. Our 5th class is the setting blocks. Begins April 14th at 2pm only $55 for 5 classes and the pattern! It s always exciting when we get to begin a new $5 Quilt Series. This year, we are doing two!! The Saturday morning class is a mixed sampler, described to the right, the Thursday night class is also a sampler, but of 12 finished blocks. All 12 blocks are new blocks, perfect for the beginner or an advanced quilter that just wants to have fun. The setting pattern is a unique optical illusion that makes the quilt blocks look like circles! Class will be on the first Thursday evening of the month at 6pm every month for 12 months. Setting directions when we finish. You just pay $5 one time, then as long as you make your block and come to class on time, all future patterns and classes are free!! Best class ever!! 5 Machine Embroidery Club and BOM Brianna and Deb Gravelle are going to co-host the Embroidery Club (it takes a team!). You will bring your embroidery machines, and class will begin at 9:30. You ll complete an exclusive project, learning a new technique and leave with it done. Class includes the digital file and full sized color pattern. Then, stay for our Kimberbell BOM Hello Sunshine from 11-12:30. After all, you ve drug your Hello Sunshine!! machine all the way down here!! By popular request, Carolyn has agreed to teach the Convergence Quilt. This is a fun project to show off a unique panel or fabric. Check out her samples in the shop! She is offering this two times: April 19th, 10am - noon or, May 24th, Cost is just $14. Urbanologie Begins in April!!! Three years ago we completed Jenny Pedigo s BOM featuring her quick curve ruler. It was a lot of fun and her amazing pattern support continues to feature multiple options for this unique ruler. Her mini quick curved ruler came out last year, and this BOM is the featured quilt for the mini. It is SOOOO CUTE!!! The picture really does not do it justice. There are 12 blocks and the quilt can be constructed 3 different ways, or, you can construct 12 different projects. For this BOM we are going to meet once a month, on the first Wednesday evening of the month (April will be the second Wednesday due to our guest). Class will be demonstration of block construction, no need for sewing machines. Class will also include bingo, and door prizes each month. Class requires the book and the ruler, both offered at 20% off. Class is only $10/month. $5 Quilt: The Dessert Sampler This 12 month series is one of the prettiest quilts we ve offered. It is a stunning mix of interesting blocks designed by Jen Kingwell. It is a little more involved than previous years, but with just one lesson per month, you will be able to keep up, learn many new and interesting techniques, and have a show stopper when you are done. The quilt finishes 70 x 78, but does not include borders. You can add borders if you d like it to be queen or king. The class is just $5 for the first class. Class includes instruction, demonstration, written pattern and door prize drawings. No need to pay for any other class as long as you do the homework and bring it to class to show. Class will always be on the 1st Saturday of the month, from 9am - 10am. Pattern will be sold separately for $24 for non class participants. A limited number of kits will be available for $179 while supplies last. We have the full line of Quick Curve Ruler patterns (full sized and mini) in the shop. This is a FANTASTIC ruler!! So many easy blocks!!!

Chenille Class $12 Stitchers Garden: Monthly lessons! This darling quilt can be made entirely from stash fabric (or treat yourself to a kit). It is an opportunity to utilize your sewing machine and all those stitches and feet! You end up with a beautiful 61" x 83" quilt and some amazing information you will be sorry you didn't know before!! A few of the techniques used include: Pintucking, Twin and Wing Needles, Bobbinwork, Twisted Floss, Tailor Tack, Couching, Circular Attachments, Ruffler, Open Toe Appliqué and the Binder foot. For this class, you will bring your sewing machine and we will construct the block in class. That gives us an opportunity to trouble shoot the unique stitches and the individual machine settings. Classes will be on Monday afternoons once a month, more dates and times may be added if the need arises. Class is $16/month and includes all patterns, handouts and instruction, with a savings of 30% when you commit to the full year.

7 PCA (Pre-Cut Association) Pre-Cut Association classes continue to be very popular!! Come to one class, or all 9! There is something very satisfying about having a quilt kit all cut out for you accurately! And the huge variety of colors, sizes and styles available make all of the classes very invaluable for future endeavors. Our first opportunity this year will be March and we will continue until November. Diane Escure will be teaching all but one of these classes, always on the third Saturday of the month. Each class is only $24, and includes the pattern, instruction, lunch and a door prize. All quilt projects will be shown ahead of time so you can pick out your fabrics and come prepared. Class size is limited to 10. So sign up for the ones you want! Many of you had fun with Santa ing you for the 12 Days of Christmas, now it s time for Mrs. Clause to have some fun! She has been collecting recipes, stories, and great shopping specials just in time for Mother s Day!! The special event will work the same as it does for Santa. She will use his list and you every night at 5pm for 7 week nights. Each night will be a different special, each with savings of at least 30%. You can either Mrs. Clause back (her first name is Bea) and ask her to stuff your gift bag or do nothing, and wait for the next night s special. You will have until 8am the following morning (or until supplies run out) to place your order. If you were on Santa s list you ll receive an on the 30th with a reminder. No obligation, just possibilities All of us are addicted to hexies!! We do it the easy applistick way, which means you don t have to remove the hard papers. We offer a free demonstration - just ask at the counter. If you want to make fun heirloom quilt, just come in every month and pick up a packet of 19 precut hexagonal fabrics and the applistick hexies - enough to make one flower. New blocks will be ready on the 5th of the month - but when we sell out - they will be gone until the next month! March was our Spring BOM Open House and April is all about Sue Spargo, but May. we will be back at work with our pincushions!! You can pick up this cute little bunny to tie you over for two months, then May is a darling vintage trailer!! Cutest thing you ve ever seen!! As always, class, pattern and kit is just $ Grandmother s Flower Garden Block of the Month Pincushion Club Resumes!! Chenille Quilts!! This is such a fun technique!! The layering and slicing makes a luscious, soft quilt and the whole thing is quilted and finished as you go. You can use a favorite panel for a quick project, make some individual blocks to add to an existing project, or create some cute creatures using chenille patterns. LOTS of design opportunities, just a few tricks involved for loads of fun creating quilts that will be everyone s favorite. Carolyn is teaching this class two different times this Spring. Choose either of the dates that will work best for you. Class includes shopping tips to ensure your stash or purchased fabric will show properly, layering tricks, sewing technique, beneficial notions and the slicing and finishing. 8 Gate 17 Retreat/Event Center in Soap Lake Named for the vintage garden gate that greets you, located on Hwy 17, directly across from the East Beach of the Soap Lake Park. the Retreat House and Event Center is booked by guilds and groups that are coming to enjoy our local spoils. sunshine, wildflowers, wineries, and of course fabulous quilt shop. We have a few annual events planned where we have saved the space for ourselves to host our own Fabric Patch retreats. This is a fabulous opportunity for you to meet a new group of friends and take a quilting vacation. Each retreat is four days, three nights in a spacious, comfortable setting with every amenity. Each quilter has two 4 tables, a rolling chair and two 4 x 6 design walls in a 2000 square foot work room complete with a commercial kitchen, three bathrooms and a barista bar. We have a local massage therapist that comes to work out the neck kinks and the local art gallery hosts a wine and cheese open house, and a glass blowing class just for us. All linens, food, beverages and classes are provided as well as personal project assistance and door prizes. Each event has a theme. The Pow Wow Retreat, the Judy Neimeyer Retreat and Christmas in July have obvious projects and classes planned, but of course you can work on anything you want. There is more information regarding the individual retreats and the facility and personal availability at the shop. If you d like a tour just let us know. We ask that you don t show up unannounced when other groups are enjoying the facilities. There are great pictures on our website at Pow Wow Retreat The Confederated Colville Tribes sponsor their annual Soap Lake Pow Wow on June 1, 2 and 3rd. This celebration is an intertribal social gathering of traditional drumming, singing and dancing. It is a contest Pow Wow where dancers compete within age groups for prizes. The drum groups and dancers who attend the Soap Lake Pow Wow are from communities throughout central and eastern Washington. In addition to drumming and dancing, they bring bead, art and food vendors and all of this is going on in the park right across from our Retreat/Event Center. It is an exciting and spiritual event and very interesting to watch. You should bring your picnic blanket or lawn chairs and hang out in the park. We generally keep the Retreat/Event Center for ourselves during the Pow Wow so we can quilt, and easily go back and forth to the events in between sewing and piecing. We are sharing tribal-influenced quilt patterns and all meals will be Native American inspired. We have baked salmon, roasted squash salad, tomato pie, fried bread and wild rice soup on the menu. Our full package retreat is only $399 for 3 nights, four days. This retreat is full, but call us to inquire about other retreat opportunities, or to be placed on a wait list, sometimes plans change. Judy Neimeyer Retreat This is our third year, and even though we call it the Judy Neimeyer Retreat, it s really about friends getting together to sew. This is a hosted retreat, but unstructured, which means you can work on anything you want. You get to pick the Quiltworx pattern you want, from simple beginner to confident advanced. We will provide assistance and complete instruction for all prep work, pattern organization, paper piecing, block construction, quilt construction and even machine quilting tips. This is a great opportunity to start a big project that has seemed overwhelming. Or, work on something entirely different, with as much or as little help as you need. Dates for this retreat are June 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th. Cost: $399. Christmas in July Christmas comes sooner every year. Get a jump on projects, and ideas in our focused quilting retreat. We will feature the newest Christmas fabrics for 2018 and the newest trends just brought back from quilt market. We always have a great time with our holiday spirit and gift giving ideas! Dates are July 12, 13, 14 and 15. Cost is just $399 for four days, three nights, all meals, patterns, gift bags and door prizes. For your sewing convenience and pleasure we have a limited number of Pfaff sewing machines available for rental during classes. If your machine is too heavy or difficult to lug to class, or if you just want to test drive an award winning machine, just reserve one when you register for class. Reservations are on a first come basis (3 per class, no embroidery models). The fee is only $10 per class, we supply the bobbins, you supply the thread. If you end up buying a Pfaff, you can apply 6 months of machine rentals to your already low purchase price. Class Registration Information: To enroll in one of our classes, please come into the shop, call us with your credit card payment, or mail us a list with your payment enclosed. Class fees must be paid at the time of registration. Without payment, you are put on a wait list with no guarantee of a spot. Please register early to avoid the disappointment from a class being too full or cancelled due to insufficient enrollment. There is a supply list for every class and we are happy to go over the list and help you with those needs. We love your children, but please leave them at home as the classroom can be a dangerous place. We must commit to our teachers, so there are no refunds for cancellations less than 7 days prior to the class but you are always welcome to send someone else in your place. For out of town teachers or retreats, we require a 3 month notice for a full refund, unless we are able to fill your spot. Thank you for your understanding!
