1 95 Capital Drive Charlottetown, PEI Tel: Winter has arrived in fine style. Our 1 st major winter storm is behind us and its time to get sewing. We are going to kick things off with an OPEN HOUSE on Saturday September 6th, All the class samples will be on display for you to admire. We will also have in store specials that day, so you can save on purchasing your class supplies when you register for any of our Winter classes. We are starting the Mystical prisms BOM program. We are also offering a Beginner sewing class again for those who are interested in learning sewing. More and more people are wanting to learn the skill of sewing so that they can make their own clothing, so this class will get you on your way to creating your own personal garments. Our Block of the Month Hand Applique is offered on three different days each month starting on September 7th. Students are continuing to work on the Bunny Hill pattern Christmas Mouse. This is not a Beginner project, you should have some hand appliqué experience before signing up for this class. Embroidery Club will continue to meet on the last Thursday afternoon of each month. This is for all skill levels and is to help you learn how to get the most out of your embroidery machine. The Busy Bees Club is held on the 2 nd Tuesday morning of each month; come and see what is new at Quilting B & More, learn a new or old technique and bring your show and share with you, we love to see what other quilters are working on. Our beloved will host this club and refreshments will be provided. We have lots more projects on the schedule so drop by on Saturday Sept.6 th to see all the beautiful Quilt samples. If a class requires that you purchase a pattern or book, it will be stated in the class description. We offer a 10% discount on supplies used in our classes. In addition your purchases get added to your Honey Bee Club. Not a member of the Club, just inquire at the shop and we will get you signed up. Machines are provided for our classes free of charge. All classes must be paid for at least one week in advance of the start date of class. A paid registration holds your place in the class. If insufficient registrations cause us to cancel the class, your class fee will be refunded. In the event you decide not to attend a class you have registered for, and you do not contact us at least one week prior to the start of a class your registration fee will not be refunded. The prerequisite for this class is the Beginner s Applique Tulips Galore wall hanging class or showing another hand applique project completed within the past five years to the instructors. Participants will be hand appliquing Bunny Hill s pattern The Christmas Mouse (58 x 66 ). Class is offered on your choice of either the second or the third Monday or published Sunday afternoons of each month from January to August Pattern and kit purchase are required. Each month participants make a different bock. The batik fabrics are spectacular and the finished quilt is out of this world. If you keep up with homework, you should have a finished quilt top by December Register early by paying your class fee to avoid disappointment as spaces are very limited. Classes will be held once a month from January-May, twice a month in June and September and once a month in October through December. A total of twelve instructional sessions will be offered. 3 1-2 Buckle My Shoe- Beginner Quilting This is the best place to start, if you have never quilted or if you just need a refresher. In the past, students have taken this class three times and still feel there is more to learn. It s as easy as taking steps and you will be quilting. Learn the basics of patchwork quilting: measuring, rotary cutting, pressing, piecing, sashing, cornerstones, borders, layering, hand quilting, and binding. 4 Owner's Classes Suzanne Lane These classes continue all year round. This is a series of up to three classes to help new sewing machine owners learn how to use their sewing machines. New owners will learn how to use all their accessories, plus learn such things as sewing on buttons, making buttonholes, blind hems, machine appliqué, gathering, tapering, and so much more. These classes are free to anyone who purchases their sewing machine from Quilting B & More. If you purchased your machine elsewhere, there is a $25.00 fee per class. Registration is required. Tuesday evenings at 6:30 or Wednesday afternoons at 1:00pm Beginner Sewing Roberta Giddings Learn the basics of garment sewing by making a skirt or pajama bottoms. This class will get you started with learning how to follow a sewing pattern, selecting the correct size for you and then making the necessary adjustments for proper fit. You will also learn how to lay out the pattern pieces and cut them out of your fabric. Learn how to sew a seam, proper pressing and seam finishing techniques. No sewing the first class; time for planning your sewing project. Pattern purchase required. 5 Hop-A-Long Block of the Month If you are interested in practicing hand applique in a monthly setting but would prefer to do something other than The Christmas Mouse this class is for you. Choose any pattern currently in stock at Quilting B and join us for a monthly hand applique session. Suggestions include but are not limited to Sailor Baby, Sweet Dreams Lily, Glitter Houses, The Night Before Christmas, Doxie Dog, Bitsy Button & Friends, and Merry, Merry Snowmen.
